Talking about the display, for one thing, Redmi K30 5G’s display is slightly larger than the Realme X50, 6.67” vs 6.57”, you can hold both of them comfortably with one hand and unlock it simply by tap your finger on the fingerprint sensor on the right side. With the same Snapdragon 765G mobile platform under the hood and 120Hz refresh rate, both the Redmi K30 and Realme X50 are designed to reduce the motion blur and add more details when you are playing mobile games. You are sure to get smoother gaming experiences with both the two.

As for the color gamut, the Redmi K30 will display 84% NTSC and the number in the Realme X50 is 81.5%. In other words, the Redmi K30 will show more accurate and saturated colors. And according to a hand-on post from one of the reviewers, it seems like the Realme X50’s screen color is a little dark and not that accurate.

Camera Array

Now, let’s move on to the camera system and that is the most noticeable difference between the Redmi K30 5G and the Realme X50 5G.

In this part, I would say the Realme X50 5G is more versatile than the Redmi K30 5G when you use it to take photos or shoot films in your daily life.

For one thing, the Redmi K30 5G gets a 20MP camera and a 2MP blur lens while the Realme X50 has a 16MP camera and an 8MP wide angles. 4MP may show a slight difference in the picture, but you will see noticeable change plus a wide-angle lens. It means you can fit more friends and scenery into the picture. At least, you can handle group photos easier at the party without using a selfie stick.

As for the camera array on the back. Both of Redmi K30 and Realme X50 feature a 64MP primary camera. The difference? The formal goes for Sony IMX686 and the latter for Samsung GW1.

Then the Redmi K30 5G can switch from ultrawide angle lens to macro lens, and the Realme X50 can do the same with its 120° ultrawide Angle and 2cm macro lens. Here the thing, the Realme X50 gets an extra useful telephoto lens to allow you to get closer to your subject, therefore, the Realme X50 may be more useful for normal shooting situations.

When it comes to storage, the Redmi K30 5G still starts at 64GB. In contrast, the Realme X50 gets only 128GB and 256GB of storage, which is way too much for me. I mean, 64GB is enough for me and it is probably fine for many people. What is more important, the Redmi K30 6+64GB variant will cost only 1999 CNY and the Realme X50 8+128GB variant will be 2499 CNY. Why should I have to pay 1000 CNY more for the 64GB more storage if I even don’t need it from the beginning? I mean, that is a little bit awkward.

5G Network Coverage

As we can see from the chart above, the Redmi K30 supports only n41/n78 two mainstream 5G bands and also cut some of the 4G/2G/3G bands, which maybe make no difference for users in the early stage of 5G construction and users from China, but if you’re oversea users, do check the frequency bands before placing an order, or it may can’t work in the area that you live in. In contrast, the Realme X50 supports more frequency bands and offers more coverage.

Other differences

There are also other tiny differences between the Redmi K30 and the Realme X50, like different operation systems and different UI(MIUI 11 vs Realme UI), bigger battery(4500mAh vs 4200mAh), 3.5mm headphone jack(K30 has and X50 doesn’t).
