  • Razorsharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: The knife came very nicily packaged. The kknife itself was packed seperately in a carton box for safety. The knife is easy in use and can be opened with onde hand. The blade is razorsharp!!!!!!! The overal quality is goed withe a sturdy an sharp blade and a good solid handle made from black metal. Also the clip is big enought for most belts.

Cons: It opens with one hand but for closing I have top pull the blade upwards with one hand and close it with the other hand.

Other: If you want a cheap but good knife with a ceramic and razorsharp blade then this is it!

  • My favourite short kitchen knife

Pros: it can fold, so the brittle blade is protected in the kitchen drawer
it can fold, so you're protected against the incredibly sharp blade whilst grabbling around in the kitchen drawer

Cons: the spring is a bit heavy (not really though, but it could be lighter) so you can't really flip it back in without paying attention

Other: cutting tomatoes has never been more fun! I bought a nice ceramic knife in Japan, but I use this one instead since I'm happy being able to fold it away when not in use.

  • Awesome value for top-quality blade

    Pros: Blade:
insanely sharp - easy to shave my arm hair with it
    great edge retention
    high durability for ceramic knife
does not need sharpening if you never attempt to cut something it can't cut.
    Handle:
    sturdy
liner-lock is not a separate moving part but a specially-shaped part of the handle (interesting design)
    Mount:
    solid
adjustable fork tension allows you to loosen or tighten blade feel
the liner lock rides on a steel ball along the blade, preventing scratches in the short term.
    Clip:
holds snugly without grabbing (so drawing it is easy)

    Cons: Blade:
all ceramic blades are brittle so they don't resist chopping or twisting very well.
    Handle:
spring steel design is heavy. did they do it out of this material *just* so they could make the liner-lock part of the handle? It would have been less bulky and heavy if they used a separate spring-clip for this job.
    Mount:
right-hand-only opening; thumb stud only on one side. maybe reversible, but i haven't checked
i would imagine the steel ball the lock rides on will slowly gouge a trough in the blade edge. maybe not, though, as ceramic is incredibly hard
    Clip:
out-pointing tip is great for pushing it over a belt, but sticks out a little too far allowing you to easily scratch stuff by accident. Non-reversible.

Other: An incredible buy for the money. I'd say buy two, leave one in box for a backup and then just beat the hell out of the other.
the reason is: many people have been prevented from enjoying ceramic pocketknives before now because of the $XXX three-figure price. these blades compete on quality with those three-figure blades, but for a newbie you could just buy two for the cost of one-third of a real pro ceramic pocketknife. Then you could learn the limitations of the knife by using the first one, and once you break it or chip the blade to pieces you know "ok, i can't do that with this knife."
example: don't try to cut even a metal staple with this blade, as even though it'll cut you'll chip the immaculate knife edge it comes with. and don't think you'll be easily able to sharpen that out.
buy two. i can't stress that enough. buy two.

Pros: This knife is really sharp. Cuts, for example, skin very easily.

Cons: I found the bleeding to be excessively voluminous and messy for such a small cut. And if you manage to cut yourself in a suitably awkward spot (like I did) and can't dress the wound properly by yourself (ditto) the bleeding just goes on and on. Lots of enjoyment to be had. Also as a general warning, the ceramic blade is as brittle as it is hard, so don't try to pry something with the blade or cut anything too hard. As far as I know that is normal for any and all ceramic blades. Unfortunately I did not manage to hit bone to find out if that might break the blade. I'll do an update if there are more unplanned experiments regarding this matter.

Other: It is a sharp knife and it, for example, cuts paper, cardboard, tape, cloth and me quite nicely. If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself as the price shouldn't be an obstacle. Just don't try it on me, I think I've had enough of bleeding to last me a lifetime.

  • Actually a pretty nice knife...

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Well made, very sharp, blade has no play at all when open, liner lock has no play either.

Cons: None to speak of, ceramic knives are fragile by nature so you don't want to try prying anything or applying any force except at straight on to the edge of the blade.

Other: Very good knife if you have an application that suits a ceramic blade. It's very sharp and should hold an edge for a long time.
