Pros: Bought this for my Rebel T2i 550D. With this i can: 1. Set time remaining to take the pic 2. Set number of pics 3. Set interval between each pic 4. Set exposure time for the pics I can set the quantity to zero, and do a time lapse, or a stop motion... Its perfect

Cons: No power off switch The battery do not lasts "forever" as some said... but that its not a con, its obviously.

Other: Its a MUST have, if you like photographi, and specyally time lapses...

  • Very nice timer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Works reliably. A fine replacement for branded timers and very similar to the Canon version. A multitude of handy modes that can even be used together to take e.g. custom-length exposures at timed intervals. The unit is very light. The build quality is good.

Cons: It's not the easiest thing to grab in your hand and start using. At least I had to check the instructions first (and the manual could be better), but once you get used to it it'll work well enough. In my opinion the biggest flaw is the screen illumination - the light will stay on only for a few seconds, which is way too short time. The lights also turn on only after pressing the light button. Other buttons don't light up the display nor lengthen the time it stays illuminated. The buttons are a bit small (impossible to use while wearing gloves or, I'd assume, hard even with large fingers), and can be a little unresponsive at times, meaning you have to pay attention to pressing them deep enough.

Other: Once you learn to use it, it's great. Definitely worth the money.

Pros: - Excellent equipment, becase you can use this for a lot of things: timer, time-lapse, shots with and interval. - You can combine the features, this it's a good thing, because it's useful for a lot of things. My friends ask me all the time to lends it. - you can use without the battery as a shutter - the brand is very good

Cons: - You can't turn off, but it's not a problem, I have this shutter for more than one year, and still works!!

Other: - you wont regret because it's veru useful.

  • Excellent Intervalometer for Canon 1100D

posted by mpcpro on 03:57:45 G1T 22/01/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Works exactly like the canon version. - Much cheaper, being 1 forth of the price. - Long Battery Life (Up to 3 years according to the manual). - LCD Light to use in the dark.

Cons: - Cheap plastic feel. - Not very good building materials. - No off button. - Short wire, but works fine if you are reasonable close.

Other: A cheap/inexpensive intervalometer for Canon C1 Connector. Works like a charm on my 1100D, even though it is not listed in the specifications. The only bad thing about it is that it has a cheap plastic feel to it. Very clunky and large and not a quality product as in having cheap building materials. No OFF button is very off putting, but it does say it last around 3 years. Remember to turn the LCD light off, if not I bet it will not last those 3 years as promised in the manual. Bottom line, its a cheap inexpensive product that works perfectly at a forth of the price for the Canon retail version.

Cons: -No power switch -Changing the times is different than thought (Press the dialer to start editing mode, than turn it in the different directions [in the first moment i thought the device is defect because of that activation of the editing mode])

Other: It works and it is cheap, buy it!

  • Cheaper quality than the original but way cheaper in price too.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It works fine, no problem at all. Way cheaper than the original from Canon and has the same functionalities. Timelapses are much easier with this remote than using camera advanced features.

Cons: Doesn't have on/off button, when not in use you should remove the battery although it lasts for more than a month. Cable could be larger since it's pretty short.

Other: it's good if you want a cheap remote for timelapses and don't want to expend hundreds buying one from canon.

Pros: It's a cheap timer shutter switch. Quite useful. Allows creating time-lapse, allows using very long exposure time. Suitable for cameras of different brands. May be used as a remote shutter even without battery.

Cons: The build quality is not excellent. Lack of power switch, however it's said that it works for three years with a single battery. The battery should be removed if you want to turn it off.

Other: Couldn't imagine anything better for the price.

Pros: Easy to use. Useful. Cheap. What is needed else?
when i received the package i open it, put battery in, plug device to my d350 and just start shooting. I has not read user manual yet - why? this is sooo easy. result of my first experience you can see here, on my vimeo - vimeo.com/37008845 (i hope my link is not perceived as spam)
i was not sure that these batteries are easy to find in a place where i live. but it turned out, and this is no problem. although i immediately ordered 20 pieces (:

Cons: Uncertain battery cover on my sight, but easy in repair i think (hope).

Other: I will recommend it to my friends and job mates

  • Nice easy to use shutter timer

posted by Slugsie on 09:01:29 G1T 24/01/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I had built my own shutter timer that worked well enough, but was bulky and the batteries didn't last all that long. It's now been replaced by this device which is small, light, and lasts a couple of months off a single CR2032 coin cell battery. Even without the battery it can be used as a remote manual shutter release to reduce camera shake for long exposures or when using zoom lenses. Easy to setup options for first shot delay, time between shots, length of shot, and number of shots. It's a set and forget device for taking time lapse shots of the night sky for instance. Works perfectly with both my EOS 350D and 60D.

    Cons: None really.

Other: If you want to move out of the realm of point and shoot photography then this is what you need. It makes doing time lapse and/or long exposure shooting a breeze.

Pros: Excelent product. Easy to use, has all the needed functions and no more than the needed ones. I use the intervalometer to do astrophotography and could easily set the camera to shoot all the pictures automatically without my intervention.

Cons: It has no power off switch, you can take the battery off, but I think it really doesn't use much battery so it's not a big problem. I believe the original Canon product has the same condition anyway.

Other: If you need to shoot automatic photographs in any number, this is the product for you.
