  • An extremely solid, high quality product

Pros: Extremely good (and I cannot stress this enough) build quality, has all functions I need so far, simple interface on a nice LSD screen that is visible in the dark, red LED light for focusing in the darkness (very nice addition to camera functionality), true TTL, nice velvet pouch, very good amount of light it produces - enough to fill a pretty big room, comprehensive English/Chinese manual etc, etc, etc.

Cons: I have not used an external flash before so I don't know what to look at but based on what I read while waiting for the delivery this flash is simply ideal - it has absolutely no flaws. It has power, rich functionality, buid quality is top notch and it even looks great!

Other: If you have some cash to spend on a flash this is definitely an excellent choice for the money.

  • Great price and a solid build

Pros: One of the best low-cost speedlite flashes. I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one, and I think I made the right choices - lots of features for pros, but easy to use even by novices such as myself. I decided on this one instead of its bigger brother YN 560 because of the slightly smaller size and, according to the reviews, better battery life.

Cons: Had some misfires (but I think I might have been involved, setting a too big shutter speed). The contact on the camera's hotshoe is still wobbling a bit even after screwed to the max. But otherwise it's stable and won't fall down (I haven't really forced it to)

Other: Great addition to my prosumer photography kit - I think it's the best choice for any amateur photograph unwilling to spend 3-4 times as much on a Canon-branded speedlite.

Pros: Fully functional E-TTL, auto zoom speedlite flash for a fraction of the price! Sure it has it's downsizes but it will surely get you some great photos!

Cons: The flash is great! But these are things I'd like were better: -Some stuff on it doesn't really look like in the image, I may have recieved MK I instead of MK II. -the speedlite is kinda weak (not really powerful).. -E-TTL constantly underexposes by at least 1 full stop. (Could be due to lack of power). -Built in diffusor (wide angle lens actually) broke off pretty soon and without much use. -Battery compartment door is awkwardly designed and will get stuck if you put in 4 AAs that are slightly larger (some are a bit longer than others).

Other: Whatever the case, I am very happy with the flash. I serves me great. I wish DX didn't sell me MK I when I bought MK II, but it's a good product all the same.

  • Great Flash for my Canon T2i

posted by AllSilva on 20:58:09 G8T 22/08/2012 certificated customer

Pros: Great flash, easy of use, a bargain compared with my Canon 430EX dead flash. It's easy to operate, the Manual Mode S2 is great to use with popup pre-flash of T2i. The screen light is very bright. The auxiliary focus LED is fine, none photo out of focus!

Cons: The battery door is a shame. It's the great fail of this flash. Yongnuo must change the door project for something sturdy and easy to open...

Other: If you are a amateur and don't want spend a buck for a Canon original flash, this is your buy!!!

Pros: This thing costs like 1/5 parts of the original one! And works like a charm, I have bought this for a photographer in my agency and he were absolutly amazed because of the quality/price relation!

Cons: I don't know actually, maybe if you drop it on the floor it might break... I think so

Other: If you want good results, use it with a difussor, you can find them here in DX too ;). And the flexible part makes it easy to regulate the amount of light in the picture... that is nothing new, but for the price, is a good thing

Pros: Full compatible with ETTL , as long as attached to the camera top (see below)
    Nicely built
    Works fine
    Recicle time is good.

Cons: Does not compatible with WIRELESS ETTL. As off-camera flash, it will work only as a S1/S2 manual flash, it will not operate as a fully Canon compatible slave flash as the 430EX or 580EX.
    - that's not really a con, but be aware if you are expecting a replacement for your Canon 580EX or 430EX

Other: Very nice flash, it can handles the work pretty good. Its light, recicle fast and deals OK with overheat.
If you want to use the Canon wireless flash system though, go with the original Canon flashes or try the Yongnuo YN565EX.

Pros: That's a great camera flash for the price.
It brings good quality and saves a lot of money compared to the canon branded flashes.
Used it at my sisters wedding in church and the photos came wery well.

Cons: The battery door seems to be very weak, every time i open it im thinking it can fall apart.
First times I used it with small capacity batteries and it woldnt last for 25 minutes of intensive shooting, but with larger capacity everything is ok.

Other: You definately would like to get high capacity bateries ;)

Pros: Excellent product. I'm using it with a Canon Rebel XS and it works seamleasly. The only thing I had to do was just plug it in. The light is very good and clear, the diffuser is not that good but it does the job. The reflector works perfectly. The Batteries duration is very good, I'm having faster recharging times with rechargable batteries compared to regular ones. The recharging time is quite good as well.

Cons: As everyone is saying here the batteries compartment gives you the creeps everytime you open it, feels like broke all the time and you'd wonder how are you going to replace it In low light conditions the built in red light for fosusing assistance is not enough and you start moving your camera to focus

Other: It's very good! it has a few cons but cost/quality relation is optimal. and it really does the job. This same flash was sold out and I wouldn't surprise if it's a sold out again, buy it fast!

Pros: The beast deal you can do in term of price/ quality ratio and if you don't want to spend much money on this type of product.
I've tested with my canon 500D in auto mode in it works perfect. I've can change the speedlite setings from camera menu or using the the speedlite buttoms.
No issues in terms of synchronizing wit the camera.
I've used normal alkaline battery and after 2 months still working.

Cons: when you use as slave i've espected to be syncronize with camera via wireless but it instead it flashes base on integrated camera flash
In day light it always flash and i've notice that camera don't focus in more dots in auto mode comparing with integrated flash

Other: If you don't want to spend much money and still want a good quality product ------ THIS IS IT !

  • Good features for the price

Pros: Great feature set for the price.
    Plastic feels fairly solid.
Interface is fairly logical, manual is clear enough.

Cons: Battery cover needs a bunch of force to open.
Response to buttons is somewhat delayed. (could be annoying when hurried). That includes holding On/Off for three seconds for it to take.
Sometimes doesn't power up on the first try.

Other: Good flash to avoid the frontal-photon-attack look, for a price that's very sweet compared to Canon's fancy flashes.
