  • Great remote

Pros: I've just got second one for my bedroom. This thing just works, plug and play and use it within seconds. It has two modes (change the mode with blue button) where you can use arrows to control the mouse or use them as arrow keys. There is no need to point remote towards receiver, it works whatever direction is pointed at. It's light but does not feel too cheap and thankfully, does not have that ugly smell of some Chinese plastic toys.

Cons: Play/Pause button could be bigger and better positioned

Other: Get one and see for yourself, you'll be getting another soon (that is, if you have two computers, of course).

  • Very good product

Pros: -It is compatible with Android (I probe it on a TV-Box that I bought at DealExtreme). -In Android not all buttons work but the most important buttons do work. -The signal receiver is the right size, not too big and not too small. -It is Plug & Play (no additional drivers required). -Easy to use. No need to read the entire manual to use, the keys have images that represent functions such as left and right button of the mouse. The wireless receiver has a red LED that indicates if the signal is being received, so you know you have a problem with distance.

Cons: -You must have Windows 7 or Vista to all buttons work. -Pointer speed is a bit slow, but it better be a little slow instead of very fast. As I expected, I can not press two buttons at the same time because only a button signal will be sent, you might wonder why would I want to press two buttons at once? I answer is to drag and drop items. Another drawback is that no a button that makes the function of the mouse scroll-bar, arrows appear in the images are to move the mouse pointer.

Other: It is a good product considering the price, the Material from Which this fact is not of poor quality, you've Endured several falls from my hands from almost 1.80 meters (I'm a tall guy) to the ground without breaking, I recommend it. Your best option if you like to watch movies and do not want to rise up to: -Raise or lower the volume. -Pause the movie. -Play another movie. It also serves to play music, you can fast forward, pause and rewind songs with ease. This product is not a substitute for a mouse, so if you want all the functions of a mouse and buy a wireless mouse so you avoid complaining. Writing with this product through on-screen keyboard is troublesome if you want to write without any problem buy a wireless keyboard. If you use an older version of Windows or another operating system not expect that all buttons work properly. I could go on writing more about my experience but you never know how well this product works if you do not buy.

  • Perfect with Linux / XBMC

Pros: Hello, This remote is just plug'n'play, short saying PERFECT :-D I plugged it on my Linux XBMC HTPC and voilà ! All the main buttons are instantly working. Some need (two) to be rebound if you are a bit exigeant (like me). To do this put xbmc in debug mode read the log, the OnKey message will show the key sequence and enhance your own ~/.xbmc/userdata/keyboard.xml And it is robust ! Enjoy !

    Cons: Really none.

Other: And overall I've a young daughter ;-)

    Other: excelente compra, totalmente satisfecho

Pros: Good quality of the remote overall, no need to install drivers or anything of the such and it also came with an extension cable. Awesome price/quality ratio.

Cons: The labels will probably wear off, they don't seem very resistant in time. But those don't mean all that much when you consider the price of it.

Other: I strongly recommend this remote control!

  • Great function and is plug and play!

Pros: Excellent quality for the price. I mean, its not a $50 remote, but its still pretty good. All buttons work perfectly and functions as you would expect. Some buttons will behave differently depending on what software you are using (i found some differences between using VLC Player and XMB), but in general its quite easy to do. You can also control the mouse pointer with it in windows, so its great i dont need a mouse to troubleshoot my media center when something goes wrong.

Cons: Nothing i can think of, beside the button issue, but you get used to it after a very short time. The IR receiver cable might be a little short, but you dont ussualy have your PC far away from the TV were the receiver should be placed.

Other: Excellent product for a media center! If you need one of this, pick this one as it has many buttons for different functions, you wont even have to stand to control your pc completely.

Pros: - Very integrated and plug&play with windows 8 - All buttons work properly - Very easy to use - Good quality buttons - You can control the mouse pointer like a mouse - Several buttons like internet explorer, recording, emails, mute, close, channel

Cons: - I think that the buttons labels can be worn out over time, its an assumption. - The IR receiver could be smaller. Its really BIG (3cm length) - Batteries not included

    Other: Must have

Pros: - Hooked it up to my Ubuntu media center with XBMC and worked instantly. - Angle of the receiver is wide. - Buttons have a good feeling. - Really improved the total experience

Cons: - The rc has a bit of a hard plastic feel to it (but what do you expect for this price!). - Manual is very short. Need to figure out the buttons yourself.

Other: - Good rc for a great price. - Highly recommended to upgrade your HTPC.

  • Works as expected. Ordered twice.

Pros: - Quite easy to set up with VLC (it has Key Mapping setup in settings). - Each button resembles a key or combination pressed by keyboard (for example B or Ctrl+B). - Quite easy to move mouse cursor if needed too.

Cons: - I could not set the Rewind Right (>>) key in VLC. - No way to change which RC button triggers which virtual keyboard key. (No drivers.)

Other: It just resembles ordinary keyboard clicks (some single key presses (like B or K) and some with modifiers (like Ctrl+B or Ctrl+Shift+K), so it is easy to set up any of these buttons in your player's Key Mapping settings if they are available.

  • Pretty good for media centre

posted by orismology on 18:16:44 G1T 14/01/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Fairly well built, accurate (no double presses), dual-mode (mouse/remote) is useful, buttons feel solid.

Cons: A bit tricky to interface with. I couldn't get EventGhost to work properly with the dongle. It is probably doable with enough time, but I simply used another, more generic IR dongle. Battery cover is a bit flimsy. It doesn't fall out in normal use, but isn't held in tightly - batteries will fall out if dropped. Not the right buttons for my liking. This is my fault for not checking it out before I bought it, but I would have preferred "Subtitle", "Audio" and "Menu" buttons over "My TV", "My Video", etc.

Other: I'm extremely happy. It does what I want at a cheap price, and my only real disappointment is that it isn't all that easy to reconfigure. If you just want a remote that works out of the box with MCE though, this one is a good buy.
