Pros: Its a very good build product... looks firm with no wobbly parts... sits very well under my d7000.. the two sockets are well build and the battery sits very well inside with no trouble what so ever... in general a very good product

Cons: don't have really nothing bad to say about it.. one thing is that the wheel which closes the grip in his place a little loose.. not all ways sure if its closed to its limit or not.... The aperture and the F stop wheels on this grip are pretty cheap... feels like a toy almost and the front wheel not very accurate.. jumps a stop or two sometimes

Other: a very good grip for a low price which is more then acceptable

Pros: It fits ok, and it is recognized sucessfully by the camera. I'm using 2 nikon genuine bateries, and it shown both in the batery info menú. The buttons Works well, and Works in the same direction as the controls in the camera. It helps you a lot to work in portrait and landscape mode. The price is right for its quality.

    Cons: None.

Other: I hope it last :)

  • Good alternative to the original one

Pros: I bought this since I didn't want to spend such a high amount of money on the original one.
It is very useful when using to take vertical shots and the advantage of carrying batteries really matters.

Cons: There is a small ring on the side where you plug the battery - it feels very cheap plastic and keeps sliding out.
It's very anoying when you hold the camera vertically that sometimes it slides down stubbornly and gets tangled in you finger or anything it can hang on to.
The thumb pad is not the best. Low quality plastic however it works properly.
I haven't tried the original one but the design of it is quite anoying. Instead of pusing buttons down to move the focus points there is a joystick with small "spikes" that you need to use.

Other: It is a good addition if you are in the beginner to middle range photography.
I recommend this for those who are not obsessed with original things or those who use this as an excuse for not taking good photos.

  • Excelent Quality Grip

Pros: I just saw the original grip in pictures and reviews around the web, so I can't compare this one with the original, but with it pluged in the camera, I couldn't never tell that this was not the original.
The finish, the ruber, everything matches the D7000.
I saw in another site that some of these alternative grips for the D7000 had the rotation buttons inverted (while in camera you turn right to increase aperture, in the grip it decrease it turn in the same way), but this grip act exactly as the camera does.
My main purpose of this grip was for ergonomics first, so if you have a DX camera and have big hands, you know what I'm talking about. With the grip in place, it's like you have a new camera (and it looks like a new one, maybe a D3 daughter) and looks much more professional and now have much better ergonomics.
It's very tight with the camera, so there isn't any bounce or space between them. The camera is very firm.

Cons: The only thing I can say so far is about the dials and buttons.
The shutter release is diferent from the D7000. While the D7000 button it's like you squish it, the grip one is more like half click, and full click, like the old camera shutter buttons. It's ok, just different from the original camera button.
The camera dials are something like rubber coated and the grips are all very plastic and the clicks in the grip dials are stronger.

Other: If you think that the D7000 is too small for your hands, even if you don't need a new battery for longer shot sessions (my case), you should give a try, because when you hold the camera with the grip attached, it's like you are holding a new and more professional camera ( even more when you put a set of six batteries in it ).
Even if the buttons aren't like the camera ones, it worth the fraction price of the original one.

  • Excellent, Excellent Product

Pros: -Awesome grip, excellent controls, great feel. -Adds nice weight to the camera, but not too much. -Convenient portrait shutter button -Convenient extra buttons and dials -Works exactly like the camera -Fits several types of extra batteries including the EN-El15A (extra capacity) relatively cheap battery featured on this site.

Cons: None i can think of.

Other: buy it if you have a d7000, you won't regret it, if only for the extra battery and convenience.

  • Great product

Pros: This is a solid and well built product. Fits snugly to the D7000 body and makes for a nice comfortable grip in the portrait position. Having the controls available while shooting in this position makes for a much easier shooting experience. Adds nice weight to the camera and allows a better grip for all fingers when in the landscape (normal) shooting position. Love the extended battery life this adds to the camera, and the ability to use 6AA batteries in it instead of the original battery.

Cons: The directional controller on the grip does not feel as sturdy as on the camera body, but it still works fine.

Other: Great deal on a well built product. For the price it's hard to find a reason not to recommend it.

  • Great Product

Pros: The product performs and behaves just like the original. The finish and build are solid and the trays slide in and out and secure solidly.

Cons: I have the same complaint that I have about the original Nikon version, I would prefer that the unit could store two batteries so that I don't have to take off the grip to take out the battery inside the camera body.
However, this is exactly how the original does it as well, so it's not a design flaw in this model.

Other: I highly recommend this if you require extended battery time and also to add the vertical shutter release functionality. I love the feel in my hand and am very pleased.

  • It is worthy.. compared to the original one

Pros: It fits perfectly into the Nikon D7000 unit, and has indeed all of the funtions of the original MB-D11. The appearance is nice and seems to be sturdy. The shutter works precissely, and so do the batteries compartments. The AF button works as well as the camera's one, and I tried tricks with it as using it for focusing or blocking the many possibilities that the camera button has.

Cons: The joistick is not responding with the same precision that the camera's. It works nicely in the up, right and left directions, but is not responding as nicely in the down direction. It is not as responsive as the camera's control The camera screen tells you what is the charge level of the NiHM batteries I have in it, but not how many pictures can tou take with it. I don't know if you get that information using the original MB-D11 grip

Other: I can recommend this grip
