Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Unfortunately not able to assess the advantages of this device.

Cons: No catches satellites either the city or the forest. Went into the forest, field, satellites, and clean. All the time lit circular signal. But satellites finds no. This happens in Russia, city of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region. Tried to leave him catch satellites for the night. Still not catching satellites. In addition, the small battery. Very small battery.

Other: Poor quality. I would never buy such GPS compasses.

  • Seems to work fine, but with at least one bug.

Pros: Low price, well made, sensitive receiver, works under tree canopy. Very accurate positions since unit is WAAS enabled (within 20’ under tree canopy and at base of 50’ high hills on two sides). Most useful for finding Lat/Lon and elevation of current position. LiPo battery seems to hold charge well. Works as expected except as noted.

Cons: Most annoying is longitude is indicated as “S” when it should be “W.” in my part of the USA (Pittsburgh, PA). This is annoying, but not a big problem since you usually know about where you are, and the unit seems to give accurate position info otherwise. Limited Point of Interest (POI) memory (16 locations). Clunky for programming Lat/Lon of destination (has only 3 buttons). Have to be traveling at a relatively fast and constant speed for direction arrow to point toward stored destination point, but this is common of other GPS units.

Other: Does everything I hoped it would.

Pros: Good price, small size, ease of operation and quality seens good. It works well in determining current position.

Cons: The main reason I purchased this instrument was to have the distance and more importand, the direction home. The distance is fairly accurate but the directional arrow is totally useless. It never points in the right direction even though directions were followed to the letter.

Other: I sent my unit back

  • Nice back-up GPS

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very small Easy to use once you learn how to do it. Gives you a good precision. It's like 10m accuracy with 4 bars(6 or more satellites) The coordinates it's very close to where you are (If you get lost this coordinates will show where you are, for rescue and things like that) Geographic coordinate, elevation, easy of use and build quality is very good but.....

Cons: That arrow, is more like dancing arrow... despise the coordinates are very precise, the arrow doesn't show the right direction, she keeps dancing, sometimes the direction of the coordinates it's to my front but the arrow shows that I have to walk to my back. The distance measure isn't precise, I walked 873m and it's shows 1300m, it's close but my pedometer is more precise... The only two cons is the arrow that show what direction you have to walk and the distance measurer.

Other: I liked, didn't worked as I expected but there is ok, the coordinates are very precise so it will work if you have a map and a compass. The perfect use of this device is for back-up unit, it's small, so you can carry on your body, rather than you carry on your backpack. You can lose your backpack.
