Pros: cheap. small. lightweight. powerful enough to supply my laptop. doesnt heat up much. a lot of different plugs attached.

Cons: the polarity is + on the inner side and it is impossible to invert it without soldering, but that was not the case with my laptop. maybe the cable could be a bit longer.

Other: great deal. and useful as hell.

    Pros: Cheap
    Has the right voltage
    Does the job!
Has the right pins for my laptops!

Cons: The plastic casing does MELT if you use it whilst the laptop is on charge, my friend used the charger on my laptop on a 4 hour drive and by the time we came back home the casing for the plug (into the car) slightly melted.

Other: Other than the above this is a good product, my rant was due to us using it for 8 hours in one day. If you use it sensibly it shouldn't have that problem!

    Pros: - Good looking adaptor
    - CHEAP!
    - It can give out the voltage you need
    - it has 8 plugs

Cons: I bought this adaptor for my EEEPC 1005. On the picture looks as there is the right plug inside, but on the picture are not the right plugs! IT WONT FIT on EEEPC 1005 series!

Other: If you need a car adaptor for your laptop is this a very good choice. It's cheap and it looks not bad quality. Just watch out if it fits your laptop. And WATCH OUT at polarity setting!

Pros: It has the fitting plug to my laptop, and the polarity and the voltage (18V setting) matches the 18.5V specification of the laptop. Very small in size and handy to keep in car. Unloaded voltage is 18.8V, and drops with load closer to 18V.

Cons: The documentation does not match the device markings. The markings on the plugs are reversed. Documentation says you can change the polarity, but it is not possible, because the plugs connect only one way. The markings suggest that the tip is negative, but I measured it and it is positive.

Other: As the polarity happens to match my LG laptop and the voltage is ok, I am happy that I bought this. Make sure you measure your unit before using it. Make sure the unit is in a well ventilated place when in use.

  • This adaptor killed my HP DV-9800

    Pros: It was really cheap

Cons: I am an experienced user and have lots of experience with laptops and power adaptors. This one looked like a great idea because I thought I could replace the inverter I usually travel with in my car. Unfortunately as soon as I plugged it in (having carefully checked the correct voltage and polarity settings), it smoked the motherboard on my laptop. Literally! Looking at a $420 bill to replace my motherboard makes this $12 adapter look like not such a good deal.

Other: What can I say, I am out a lot of money because of this product. I can only recommend that you stay away from it.

  • Works for most laptops, just not mine

Pros: -- Cheap price -- Small size -- Easy to use

Cons: -- Does not work with my Dell mini 10 (the tip is good, but it seems Dell laptops have something specific that alot of OEM chargers have a problem with) -- There is no tip provided for my Girlfriends Inspiron laptop -- The cable length might be short for some people (in my small hatchback it's fine for the backseat, but larger cars might not be able to use it from the backseat) -- Voltage selection does not match up with numbering, and I have to double check my counting cliks to make sure it's in the right position -- questionable build quality of the pin connector. They might not last long if you have to interchange tips often.

Other: Overall an ok product if you don't have Dell laptops. Pretty useless to me it just works on my old compaq laptop. The voltage selector is badly indicated but has good feedback when moved and is stiff so it won't easily slip (could change with more use though)

  • Good, but needs work

Pros: This is a very useful device. It worked with every laptop I could find including my Toshiba Satellite. Very convenient, pretty simple.

Cons: It burnt out on me...twice. The first time, the plug melted and the fuse burnt out. I spliced on a new adapter and them the main unit burnt out. It really needs a cooling fan. Also, the switch is very difficult to set where you want it to go. I never trust the sticker so I count the clicks when sliding it.

Other: All in all, I would buy it again. For this price, I would reattach the plug that I used for the last one, and glue on a fan. After that, I am probably still $80 or $90 ahead.

Pros: - It has an adjustable power switch. - It has some connectors with it. - It has a simple main connector for extending the connectors.

Cons: - No Acer Aspire One 150 connector, I still have to buy such connector. - Small power change button, but working good.

Other: Very handy gadget for on the road for a lot of notebooks, although not al types are represented... (fill up, fill up, fill up)

  • Great charger for your laptop and it's cheap!!

    posted by mercedes90 on 09:06:19 G6T 25/06/2009 certificated customer

Pros: It is a great car adapter !! I have a HP Pavilion 15,4 inch with a input of 18,5 Volt. I set it on 18 volt on the charger and it works fine !! I turned it on , no problem at all !! It is a great buy for the price !

Cons: The only thing I dont't realy like is the button on the charger for setting the volts. But that isn't so bad. You do it on time and your ready.(but always look if it is still on the right volt, you never know who toucht your charger). And the reviews must be lower than 500 characters !!

Other: It is a nice charger for the price It realy is!! This is a must buy !!!
    BUY IT !!!!

Pros: Very cheap compared to the ones sold here in Norway. The build quality is about the same as the ones available here at a cost of around $90.00!
It charged up my netbook really fast.

Cons: The sliding switch is confusing and mistakes can be indeed expensive. One has to count the clicks and because of the consequences, I double and triple check every time I use it. I never know if someone has fiddled with it while I was away from the car.
The + and - signs on the adapters are useless, being in the middle of nowhere.

Other: Overall I am quite happy with his product. These things are expensive here and been looking at them in the shops here but was not prepared to part with $90.00.
