Pros: Adjusts to fit different sizes of handlebars and various flashlights. Sturdy enough.

Cons: Adjustment takes some finessing. Rubber inserts could get lost during the finessing process I suppose.

Other: I think this was worth the money, and I would buy again.

  • After small DIY modds by far the best bike holder

posted by PetergSVK on 09:27:47 G1T 25/01/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Simple and fast operation; - Easy fit flashlight (fits my Zebralite SC600); - Fits to oversized 31.8mm bars; - Hold the light perfectly (see other thoughts); - Holds perfectly on the bars, no slipping (see other thoughts).

Cons: - The plastic is not the high quality, the same the workmanship; - Swivel bolt is useless (see other thoughts); - There is no place for original unslipping rubber strip if mounted to 31.8mm bars (see other thoughts); - All steel parts are w/o rust protection, so get rusty very quickly (even when received the item there was some rust - see other thoughts)

Other: After above mentioned easy DIY modifications it's by far the best bike lamp holder I've ever seen at DX.

  • Acceptable but may not fit all handle bar sizes

posted by catbyte on 01:28:43 G3T 04/03/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: As stated in the product, it does hold my Aurora P7 flash light onto my bicycle.

Cons: - May not fit all bicycle handle bar size - Plastic screw mount a little poor quality - My flash light almost flew off while cycling on rough terrain

Other: Make sure your bicycle handle bar is beyond 2cm diameter. Else, you will have to do some DIY to make it hold onto the handle bar without slipping. I wouldn't dare to mount any expensive flash light using this mount.

  • Not a great holder but just ok.

posted by lancersfx on 12:23:01 G11T 30/11/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It is a basic holder on my roadbike. To connect the Ultrafire WF501 the smaller band has to be wrapped around the flashlight and then the clamp tightened. Works well on smooth roads.

Cons: Major disadvantage is the holder itself has a 20Degree ply on either side and moves about freely. This is very distracting when on rough roads especially when one needs the light to be focussed and not move about. It is as though the holder has a mind of its own !! A better alternative would be http://www.dealextreme.com/p/31871

Other: IF you have an option for Plan B too then order this as well.. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/31871. Else order just this one in the link.. :-)

Pros: It does its job. It looks reliable. There is a seal that would not damage the lamp. Sits on the steering wheel tightly. Good fixation. You can rotate in all directions. You can set the light in all directions.

Cons: Price may be lower. But a good mount.

Other: We went with friends to ride bikes. They appreciated this purchase. A good thing. I recommend to buy.

  • Cheap and adequate

    posted by cheese83 on 12:53:03 G11T 28/11/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It clamps securely and quickly. I feel confident that it's never going to let go, no matter how bumpy the road.

Cons: As other reviewers have noted, the two halves swivel on a single screw which doesn't feel very secure. The swivelling is not very useful, so I glued the two halves together.
I have used it in the rain a few times and the metal fixings have quickly started to rust. I would have been happy to pay more for something with stainless steel or otherwise corrosion-resistant parts. For now, smearing a bit of grease over the metal parts keeps the water off.

Other: While it is certainly very good for the price, it could be better.

  • Very nice and cheap flashlight mount

posted by Lukec on 09:41:24 G7T 05/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: One of the best thing is the price. You simply cant find mount like this cheaper anywhere else. It is even hard to find mounts like that in shops.
Second thing is a sure plus - this mount is really small, tho on the picture it doesnt look like.
    It is also very solid!

    Cons: There arent any.

Other: Cheap, solid, small, perfect. Nothing more to add, i love it from the day i got it.

  • Very good mount for the price.

posted by fightnut on 11:05:21 G9T 23/09/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Smaller and more compact then it appears in photos. Once the mod is made(see below), it's rock solid so far. No jiggling, even with a larger torch like my P7. Fits my OS bars with no problem.

Cons: As everyone has stated, there is some swiveling between the two parts (see mod in other thoughts).
It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to quickly and smoothly attach it to my bars.

Other: As much as I like the rubber mounts DX sells for mny smaller/lighter torches, for a larger/heavier torch like a P7, this mount is the way to go.

  • At least a good mount !

posted by YoLoLo on 07:24:03 G6T 08/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Robust plastic (must be, because bicycle will produce a lot of vibrations !)
    - Keeps (hold) well the torch, only small vibrations
    - Good fixing of the mount
    - decent price for such a product
    - Not sold in France

Cons: Does well its job, so, to me, there is no cons

Other: Good deal for me, as i leave my bicycle at a railway station, so i need to put over the lights, not to be stolen ;)
When the actual light will be out, it's good to see that i will be able to buy another one, without changing the mount !

  • OK if superglued

    posted by mail2regist on 09:21:13 G5T 03/05/2010

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Fits my bicycle bars, and it’s OK with my Ultrafire WF-502B (SKU 35074). Vertical alignment is good, holds the flashlight tightly.

Cons: Lateral alignment is almost impossible as there is a swivel pin (actually a simple screw) that allows rotation (lateral movement), even when fully tight.
Had to use some superglue to fix it, and now that it is always pointing forward (perpendicular to the handlebar) it’s OK.

Other: It’s a reasonable mount, considering the price – and assuming that you don’t mind to superglue it and loose the lateral adjustment possibility.
