  • Excellent product

Pros: - Very bright - Nice finish - Belt clip is very handy - Mine came with a 5-mode tail switch (High beam, mid beam, low beam, bright strobe and SOS modes)

Cons: - Switch can be a bit finicky (Sometimes I click the switch on but nothing happens and I have to click it again one or two times before the light actually turns on) - SOS mode is supposed to blink ... _ _ _ ... to spell "SOS" in Morse code, but actually spells "SOOS" ... _ _ _ _ _ _ ... instead (There's an Engrish joke in here somewhere)

Other: Good quality general-purpose flashlight. Wouldn't recommend for heavy duty use or in situations where you need a reliable light source (i.e. home defense) but otherwise very well-made and I'm happy with it.

Pros: These are very brights flashlights and there isn't problems at all. These are strong and finishing quality is excellent. There is also O-rings at joints, so these can be used also at wet conditions (but not at diving, i guess).

Cons: clip must be tightened occasionally (maybe some threadlocker might be good idea), but that's not problem, if you don't need it.

Other: I reordered more of these, these are just perfect flashlights.

    Pros: -Super bright
    -Light weight
    -Belt/Pocket clip
    -Good Seals all around

Cons: -Tail Cap is very sensitve when, the light is on the lightest touch will turn light on & off
-Contact issues make the light flicker with 18650's but not sure if it does it w/cr's

Other: Overall great light just wish i could fix the contact and tail cap issues. Haven't had a chance to test how good the seals hold up in a rain but they look like they'll do good.

Pros: It's a good lamp for the price, i have got one of this for more than one year and it's still going ok

Cons: It becomes hot in few minutes and drag battery fast. The lumens seem to be be less than 250.

Other: I'm quite satisfied of this lamp, and if you don't need more luminosity this lamp it's ok, anyway at similar price you may find more performant and newer leds.

  • Just Get One!

posted by GArther on 00:17:27 G6T 09/06/2011 certificated customer

Pros: I have owned 2 of these for over 12 months, gave a third one away as a gift. I think they are great! Only recently replaced the CR123A 3v non re-chargeable with 3.6v rechargeable. I was happy with the torches before but now on 2 x 3.6v rechargeable the light out put would have to be at least + 30% maybe more. Now the output keeps up with my L.E.D lenser P14 in spot mode. yes sure the batteries wont last as long as the P14 but the P14 wont fit into my pocket and the P14 cost over $100. The one I gave way as a gift, the owner raves about it, he is a taxi driver and uses it all the time recons the 3v battery last ages. Just Get One! And to sweeten the deal get CR123A rechargeables and a charger too.

Cons: non so fare and thats after over 12 months of use

Other: Get One! or get 3!

  • One of the best lamps

    posted by Supervisor4 on 18:01:28 G3T 18/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: good price, decent brightness.

Cons: Same issue with all the 502Bs: The pill/reflector don't fill the lamp head, so there's a lot of air between them and the body which is bad for heat conduction. Put on a bit of thermal grease if you think it's a problem. The CR123's are narrower in body than an 18650, and if you use protected ones this allows them to "buckle" a little inside the body so that the contact between them isn't as good. An easy fix is to wrap a dollar bill or some paper around them before putting them into the body- $1 USD is exactly the right height/thickness to steady them :)

  • Awesome light for the money

posted by BOGIEBOLL on 23:20:58 G3T 12/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very tight beam, great build quality, quality clicky switch, perfect size, not too big, not too small. Quality and function match price

Cons: I dont think the 250 lumen rating on this one is quite accurate. I compared this to my 104 lumen 3 cell maglite (led) and this is brighter than that, beam doesn't throw as long, also compared it to my 180 lumen Dorcy and this is very comparable to that so I think this is more in the 180 ish lumen rating. Heats up quick

Other: You really cant go wrong with this, excellent light but do not buy it thinking it is really 250 lumens.

  • A budget torch with a premium output!

posted by StarkingBarFish on 07:21:29 G2T 25/02/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Bright, tightly focused central beamspot with enough spill to cover a much larger area too. Works brilliantly with both 2x 3.7V CR123's or a 18650- I noticed no difference in brightness between the two. The build quality is the same for other 502B models, but the pill on this one fits the reflector better than it does on the P7 variant. The torch is easy to use, well machined and worked fine out of the box.

Cons: Same issue with all the 502Bs: The pill/reflector don't fill the lamp head, so there's a lot of air between them and the body which is bad for heat conduction. Put on a bit of thermal grease if you think it's a problem.

Other: Well worth the money, I hope to get years of use from this torch!

  • Incredible bargain!

    posted by bderic42 on 21:24:39 G12T 28/12/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I have to tell you that as a former police officer, and having owned and used the "name brand" competitor, this is an incredible bargain. My Surefire (oops) had nothing on this unit. The fit and finish is excellent, good solid unit. I put this up against my last Surefire and it blew it away in strength of beam, tightness of beam, and focus.
DX shipped really fast. From order to arrival was 18 days total, including weekends! I cannot recommend this product and this company highly enough!

Cons: I have no cons. I went with the single function, no frills light, which is how I like them.

Other: If you are a pro, you really need to check this out. We don't get paid that well, and it is nice to find something that helps protect us, but is truly affordable to anyone!

    Pros: good price, decent brightness.

Cons: some connection issues, light dims unexpectedly, needs to press switch again to get back to full brightness. but worst part is you may not get a brand new one!

Other: paid for a brand new one and got a heavily used one with scratch marks all over it. emailed DX sales and support neither replied. very disappointed!!
