  • Poor QA but excellent once working

Pros: First one has been very reliable, good consistent light output etc. Hopefully, now I've fixed the tailcaps, the new ones will be as good.

Cons: The first one I had to do some work on heatsinking but was otherwise ok. The latest ones were all DOA out of the packing. Tail cap design has changed. It looks like a better part but it doesn't fit the body properly - tailcap needed disassembling, contact on switch module bending out and some alfoil to get it to work.....

Other: Very good torch once you get it to work...

  • Good but with some problems

posted by lukasandrysik on 13:53:02 G3T 15/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -->Good brightness but see also cons -->Disconnects battery at 3,1V which is ideal voltage for 18650cell. -->Looks professional and durable

Cons: ---> Bad heat transfer between drop-in module and battery body - I wrapped it with aluminium foil and it works great. ---> Brightness very depends on voltage. When you use it with 2 smaller batteris, it is not problem. But if you are using it with one 18650cell, you will notice it. When the tested it on my lab power source, the brightness was excellent and constant from 8V to 5V and than it slowly dimms. So using it with 18650 will not use the full potential. --> And also produces sometimes (mid and low power) high frequency noise!. -->SOS and Strobe is useless..even when you can use strobe, SOS is totally useless, because it is very ssssllloooowwww!!!!

Other: Not so bad but I think there are better flashlights. Like this one: sku.13095 . I have this for 4months now and it is in my opinion much better (better brightness at lower voltages etc....and it is cheaper)

    Pros: Good price.Good size.Great brightness.
High quality materials used.Easy to use.
Compatible with Superfire Gun Mount Pressure Pad.Nice strobe :)

Cons: Poor quality of assembly. (Internal movement)
Tighten the threads of the contact problem.
If you screw on the cap can not be switched off.

Other: The error is small and probably unique. Apart from that:
I would definitely recommend this one, no question about it.

  • Great all rounder

posted by greedx on 08:05:10 G7T 18/07/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - Good flood
    - Constant brightness as battery discharges
    - Doesn't overheat
    - Has o-ring seals
    - Makes a good bike light (among other uses)
    - Memory feature works well (just as well)

Cons: Switching modes can be fiddly (but memory feature makes this less of an issue)

    Other: Great all-round torch.

  • Good light for the price

    posted by Huny74 on 05:35:09 G5T 31/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very good price, took not too long to ship (about 2 weeks).
Very bright with 2 CR123As. IMHO good compromise between throw which is not too focused but illuminates a rather wide area and spill which is brighter than I expected thus is more useful at close range.
Reliable mode memory, right sized o-rings in the right places.
Good basis for DIY beginners like me, I believe.

Cons: Two minor dents on the body (knurling area) on arrival but I personally don't mind (managed to add quite a few more the first night after I got it).
    Knurling is too slick.
Drop-in has lots of space inside body, no good heat conduction.

Other: Probably no good choice if you want a light that's perfectly hasslefree out of the box, but if you don't mind to get to know your light a little first before you use it, it's a good buy.

Pros: This torchlight is BRIGHT. Rather more of a thrower than a flooder, if that's what you're looking for. BOTH protected/unprotected 18650's fit well - one of my SSC-P7 torches doesn't take the protected TRUSTFIRE (sku 5790) without some force being applied. Light and small (slim profile) it does what it's supposed to do with no fuss and no bother.

Cons: Not as solidly built as my other torches, but at this price point it's not really an issue. I had to lubricate the threads which were rather dry, but I clean/lube all my torches upon getting 'em. I'd rather not have the strobe/sos mode, but the other version is only a single mode, and is way too bright for some applications.

Other: I've owned this for over a month now and everything works as it should. I would definitely recommend this one, no question about it.

Pros: A superb flashlight at a brilliant price! Superbly bright for one battery. Well constructed and strong, rigid body. Good quality switch and on/off function. Compatible with different P60 modules - yet to try!

Cons: Doesn't come with a holster/holder/case. SoS and Strobe mode's are not needed.

Other: The bottom line is that for the money - it's a brilliant addition to any mountain bikers light arsenal if that's what you intend to use it for. Buy it!

Pros: This flashlight is very well made. the body is 100% aluminium, no plastic components. (except the tail switch) It has rubber O rings at every screw joint, it looks water proof to me. Licht is very bright, much brighter then I expected it to be.

Cons: Tail switch, to change mode you have to click it very fast. it's a pain. SOS mode is very, very useless.

Other: A very well build flashlight, But you'll have to set it once at your favourite mode (i have set it to HIGH). After that it stays in that mode. unless you press the switch really fast

  • cheap multi mode memory torch

posted by naturaldisasta on 07:15:24 G11T 04/11/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Fits a protected 18650 cell easily. The memory mode is a great feature. The crown is removable, so if you want to upgrade the LED head with something else, it could make it easier to do. It doesn't appear to get too warm on long use, and battery life with a 18650 cell on high mode is well over an hour. The light projected is very "white", it makes my SSC P7 powered torch look a little yellow.

Cons: Uses quite a large spring to allow for protected cells - it looks a little fragile. Other lights use a solid connector that is sprung internally instead which look stronger. It rattles when you shake it making it sound a little cheaply made. My particular one came with some quite deep scratches on the crown and at the base which detracted from the experience of getting a new "toy". The whining noise on the lowest dimming mode is annoying. Its also pointless as the difference between the medium and low mode is not that noticeable. The threading for the crown and the switch/base isn't that "deep", which doesn't give me the best confidence that this could cope with much more than a light rain shower.

Other: This light is going into the glovebox of the car. Its not my brightest torch, but the range is decent and yet it still floods reasonably well making useful for all sorts of scenarios. I would buy this product again as a cheaper alternative to say SSCP7 LED torches for friends or family, as even tho it isn't as bright, the throw makes up for it.

Pros: A perfect small reliable flashlight wich outruns maglites etc. completely. Should be available in every home/car/boat. The use of Lithium batteries, wich have almost no loss of energy when not in use makes this light containable for long time.

Cons: Big difference in output when use with one 18650/17670 compaired to 2X CR 123, in last case the output is much higher.

Other: buy this product and don't forget to buy also a set of rechargable CR123 or 18650 2500mAH (protected) also available at DX. Best take one with you all times
