Pros: It's a common platform (P60 drop in) and there's quite a bit of information out there on this light. It's bright and budget friendly so it's been popular. It's a step up in brightness compared to my Fenix P2D (Q5), granted it's twice the size. "Medium" on this light is equal to "High" on my Fenix P2D. Also minor things, but I like that this comes with a clip and it doesn't roll off of the table when I lay it down!

Cons: The heat transfer from the LED to the body wasn't very good without some assistance. Again, there's a lot of information out there on modifications to this light and I chose the quick and dirty option. I cut an aluminum can into a strip of aluminum and wrapped the P60 drop in with it so it increased the contact area with the head of the light. Now when it's on for very long the head of the light gets HOT! That's actually good because heat is being pulled away from the LED.

Other: Bottomline? You know what you want. If the size of this light fits the bill then this is certainly a good light for the price. It works as is, but if you don't mind tweaking it a little it will last longer.

  • incredibly bright, bad switch

Pros: One manufacturer stops making the C2 Centurion, the other takes over in an nearly unaltered design... so I decided to order one and see for myself how good it is. First impression: built very nice, and it really throws TONS of light. After 10 minutes on max. it got very hot, so I stopped testing before I maybe would damage the LED.

Cons: Then, the drawback came: seemingly, the switch can't handle such a large current for 10 minutes: it was stuck in the ON position and wouldn't revert back to OFF. Now I have a fantastically bright flashlight that cannot be turned off!

Other: Threads, the LED, the black finish: everything is very nice indeed, but... the switch should have a larger capacity. 10 minutes on max. is all it takes to burn it. If you know how to alter this yourself, this light cannot be advised enough. Otherwise, you can still buy it, but do not use it for prolonged periods of time on MAX then.

Pros: i dont have been before a better flashlight. is very bright and easy to use. the weight of flashlight is very light and lay very good in hands. the processing is excellent.

Cons: the battery is not included. the charger is not included. why 5 flashlight modes? i dont use strobe and SOS modes. the modes Hi > Mid > Lo > looks for me similer light strong.

Other: i woud like buy this flashlight again for me and my friends. I can only recommend this flashlight.

Pros: Aluminum body. You won´t break it XML-T6. Pure power. Low consumption Strap. Very useful if you wander high places

Cons: The clickie thing doesn't like bumps. After a month in the woods it get mad. Sometimes the 5 modes works nice, sometimes changes randomly between modes Gets hot, very hot in High mode. You can see the consequences in one of my pictures (if they approve it). Temperature is bad for the batteries too

Other: I barely use it in full power, so there are little chances of damage a battery, but is good to mention

  • Great bright flashlight

    Pros: + nice C1 body; + nice black finish and true glass lens; + True XML; + black o-rings present, perfectly fitted and lubricated; + true 1400 mA driver NANJG 101-AK-A1, originally has 5 modes, but can be modded to 3-mode (Hi-Mid-Low) with only bulb of solder; + due to LED datasheet, seems like 510 lumens almost true(maybe 400-450 in real life); + almost perfectly aligned modes (~10-40-100%); + wide bright hotspot without artifacts;

Cons: - bad heat transfer - typical P60 hosts problem; - not perfect tailcap thread; - SOS and strobe modes are useless for me.

Other: Buy it. For 20 bucks you can't go wrong. Quality\price ratio is very high.

Pros: +Extremly BRIGHT on High +Low is really low, nice runtime of ~50 hours +3 usefull modes (H-M-L) +Thick aluminium body, resistent +Can be fully dissasembled easily +Glass lens, not plastic as DX description +O-rings everywere, don't waranty waterproof but will handle a splash

Cons: -Typical P60 problem - Bad heat transfer from the dropin to the body. -2 useless models (SOS and Strobe) -Not properly packed. Mine came with a dent on the bezel -part retaining the lens is a cheap plastic ring. -A bit heavy for EDC, due the thick body.

Other: After using it on High for 5 minutes, the head of the flashlight gets only warm. If you dissasemble the head and touch the dropin it is really really hot. So hot I can't hold it for 2 seconds. This is the typical P60 dropin problem, the amount of heat generated by the led (XM-L are cooler than P7 and SST's, but still really hot) doesn't transfer to the body properly, and can damage the led permanetly. I'm gonna try to use some aluminium foil to improve the heat transfer from the dropin to the body and head, and also apply a bit of thermal silicone on the reflector threads, as they are a bit loose.

Pros: Extremely bright! Easily compares to a P7 type light. This is a floodlight with a pretty good throw as well. I also am a fan of the C1 type body.
I would say this light does throw out 510 lumens as advertised.
I should have bought at least 4 or 5 more! These things are awesome!
This was my first XML-T6 type light. It's a real good led.

    Cons: 5 modes? Why?
If the manufacturer makes a multi-mode light, strobe and SOS should never be considered.
3 modes of High, Medium, and Low would have made this light more awesome.

Other: If you buy this light, also get at least 2 good batteries and a good charger.
You really might want to consider buying at least 2 or 3 if you can afford it.
I regret I only bought 1. Next time I order, I'll get more!

  • Incredible light!

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: OMG, this is now my favourite EDC light! I bought this light to use as an all-purpose "everyday" light. Previously, I was using my UF 502b SSC CSXO P7 "900 lumens" light for EDC so I wanted something that was less powerful. As it turns out, this light is much better and brighter than my 502b SSC P7. Comparing the two, the hotspot on this light is brighter and whiter than the P7 though the spill are about the same on both models. This flashlight is well constructed and built to last! It has a heavy, solid feel yet it's comfortable to hold. The 5 modes are excellent and SOS mode really is "SOS" (instead of "SOO" which was common with previous UF lights.) Light also has memory mode! It also has a nice pocket clip that isn't too stiff.

Cons: The grooved ring that holds the glass lens in place is made of plastic. The silicone tail cap switch is also not moulded nicely so I will be replacing it. Light also had some dust and metal shavings under the lens so it needed a cleaning (again, common with DX lights).

Other: I waited almost a month for this and although I was upset at the slow shipping, it was well worth the wait. This flashlight is a BEAST. If you don't own a UF C1, get this one! XM-LT6 lights are incredible!

  • Best Flashlight I've ever bought on DX

posted by keepcoding on 13:09:03 G3T 29/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: + very good build quality (solid as a rock) + nice color (not greenish as many other LEDs) + looks nice + memory mode + super bright in high mode + very good low mode (> 50h runtime)

    Cons: - none so far

Other: Well, this is the best flashlight I've every bought on DX (and I've bought more than 10 so far). It's very bright and offers 5 modes, which are all quite useful. I got more than 50 (!!!) hours continuous runtime on a single charge in the low mode. That's pretty amazing!
