Pros: Small Size Assault Bezel Multiple Settings Bright!

    Cons: No front battery spring

Other: If you like the a30b but want multi-mode get this. These are great flashlights for every day carry, they fit in your pocket easily.

  • Nice small light

Pros: Nice Every day carry size. 5 modes work with memory function. Glow in the dark tailcap. Bright with 3.7 volt 16340 batteries. Clip is removable. Switch has good click, will not accidentally engage.

Cons: Build quality is sub par, my light needed to be worked on for it to reliably work due to poor conductivity in contacts, especially tail cap switch. Light is very dim with 3.0 volt CR123A batteries.

Other: Nice size single 16340 battery flashlight for every day carry.

  • Update on A40B - 3.6v is the trick

Pros: OK, this light seems to work MUCH better with the rechargeable CR123a batteries. Much brighter and the memory function now works as it should.

Cons: none now... but I guess the rechargeable batteries have less time... but it doesn't cost as much to feed it now.

Other: I'm a happy camper now... just use the higher voltage battery. OK now I type a bunch more so I can get to the 500 character minimum... OK now I type a bunch more so I can get to the 500 character minimum... what a pain

  • Ultrafire A40B - not very bright

posted by azctflyer on 22:14:40 G5T 11/05/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Nice Every Day Carry size. Good quality, smooth threads, & solid feel. Removable clip is nice touch.

Cons: It just isn't that bright. Description claims 220 lumen. Judging against my other lights... I'd say maybe 75. My AA Romisen is much brighter. Memory function isn't right - It doesn't back on where you left it, it skips to the next mode.

Other: Maybe I got a defective unit... but this isn't the perfect light I'd hoped it would be...
