  • exchange for 3xAAA batteries

    posted by dusan.belica on 05:41:20 G1T 03/01/2013 certificated customer

Pros: after charging they hold a long time. i used them in flashlight instead of 3x AAA batteries and i looks so, the light is stronger (or AAA were weak :) ) i also use them in electronic screwdriver.

Cons: i didn´t found any cons yet. Maybe only some of them came uncharged..

Other: you need a charger for them.If you an electrical, its easy to made own charger from mobile adapter. Or you can buy a cheap one on dx com :)

  • positive terminal of both batteries are crooked

posted by RedwingsDK on 04:39:14 G5T 09/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Cheap
    Reliable
    They Came charged

Cons: Positive terminal of both batteries are completely crooked

Other: I already own some ultrafire 18650 batteries and i'm very happy with them.
But with these 14500 I am a little disappointed. At the positive terminal of both batteries are completely crooked so they must turn some back and forth to make contact.
I ordered at the same time 2 blue Trustfire 14500 (SKU 19626) is a much better finish and cost about the same.

  • Great batteries - handle with care

posted by missionaryman on 05:52:53 G1T 27/01/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: These are great protected cells I think the stated capacity is pretty accurate Hold voltage well under load Size is pretty close to a regular AA Nipple tip so no need for magnets Protection circuit works

Cons: Plastic wrapping is a bit "how ya going" in places with PCB's not exactly parallel

Other: Great - super cheap - safety built in but read up on LI Ion before use

  • AA battery replaces 3X NiMH/NiCd.

posted by lasermanathome on 13:31:59 G10T 10/10/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: For inventers who uses existing housing (for example flashlights)for their project is this an ideal product. With a few batteries 7.4-8V and with only 3 about 12VDC. Home made NV equipement can now be powered with only one AA size recharable. No energyloss when not in use, the big trouble with NiNH batteries. The build in PC for protection like shutoff below 2.8V, to high current and more than 4.2VDC works fine.

Cons: About 4 VDC per cell, watch out to put them in places for normal batteries 1,2-1,5V, your instrument proably will be destroyed. That's why only special (home)made instruments can be powered with this battery.

Other: For modding, tweaking and tuning RC and other fun-projects, conbinated with small solarcells , wich deliver about 4-4.2V maximum, you can build/tune up very good gardenlights.

  • Nice protected batteries

posted by PedroExtreme on 13:55:25 G2T 28/02/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Works well in my "UltraFire C3 Cree 1xAA 1x14500 Flashlight" (SKU 1993) and my "Akoray Cree Q5-WC 6-Mode Memory 200-Lumen LED Flashlight with Clip (1*AA/1*14500)" (SKU 16607) giving both lights a very bright light.

Cons: Seems a little thicker compared to standard AA cells, and a little longer.
The positivepole is a little short, in some flashlights this coould be a problem

Other: Nice extension for my flashlights, I love the Li-ion cells. They are hard to get overhere in the Netherlands so DX is th eplace to be

  • Great for the Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel Q5

posted by gearhead on 05:29:00 G11T 27/11/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: These protected cells work excellent in the Ultrafire SS Q5 that only runs on the lion batteries.
Runtime on high has been over two hours and the light is still very usable. Not the hot beam at the beggining of the test but still brighter than a fully charged mini maglite.
    Great price for 2.
No fit issues, but this light was designed for 14500 cells.

Cons: Too bad they don't work on all AA lights, as the output and runtime is great.
The capacity and output is better than the less than perfect looking exterior, but it does what it is supposed to.

Other: Great batteries for the price if your light will take them.
    Will buy more as needed.

  • The ideal size!!

posted by Bernilupi on 13:33:09 G8T 04/08/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Its the most common size of battery you can find everywhere. Just be sure your device accept this voltage. Fit perfectly in most AA batteries flashlights.

Cons: The positive pole sometimes dont make contact. Plastic around the battery breaks easily.

Other: Undoubtely, 3,6 volts are better than classic 1,5 or 1,2 NiMh. It's a must have for flashlight fanatics.

    posted by scopeguy20 on 13:25:52 G7T 16/07/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Seem like they are good batteries.
I prefer protected batts. It has a flange that is not quite round and sticks out so I think they don't work in my units.

Cons: Didn't fit in my Romisen, well they looked like they fit, but when I close it up they don't work. I think the Neg end is too large it has a flange that is not quite round and sticks out so I think they don't work in my units.

Other: Could be fine batts but I was disappointed that they don't fit.

  • Great battery, great price!

posted by badmonk on 17:32:16 G5T 08/05/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Has PCB protection to keep your batteries and devices safe
    - Price is cheap compared to local stores that are selling them
    - Works very well on all my flashlights that accepts this battery

Cons: - Build quality is questionable as I've got a dud one (brand new) out of the 6 that I bought. However, DX were very quick to replace it. One died around a week ago and wouldn't hold any charge any longer.
    - Perhaps a better QC on these would be good.

Other: These are excellent lithium batteries for the price. Despite some QC needed, I would highly recommend these mainly for the protection it has built in.

  • Good batteries, not too expensive

posted by thefezman on 19:08:31 G5T 05/05/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Work well in my Ultrafire C3 Cree flashlight. it does seem a little brighter than using AAs, and the extra runtime is nice. I haven't done any run length testing, but I'm sure it has to last longer than normal NIMH batteries.

Cons: Not really any cons to speak of, besides the fact the mAH rating is overrated, but nothing new there I guess.

Other: They seem fine to me, they're protected so you don't have to worry about them blowing up in your pocket (not a good thing!).
