Pros: Works flawlessly with everything i have tested it with. The speed seems appropriate too. The build quality is quite good and i cant really see anything that would make you choose another product if you are in need of a small wifi-adapter.

Cons: The signal-strength is not great however this is a problem with more or less all usb-sticks partly due to the non existent antenna. I dont really like the led on it.

Other: Great product - Small in size and decent prizing

    Pros: Inexpensive, fast, compact

    Cons: None at all

Other: No fear in buying this for Raspberry Pi users at all. Perfect product. I will be recommending this to all my contacts that use Raspberry Pi and might even order a spare or two for myself.

Pros: While these worked they were great. Really fast and good reception for such a tiny device. They are so small you wouldn't even notice them on a computer.

Cons: The ones I ordered broke and then the replacements broke. None of them made it past 3 months. Most didn't make it longer than 3 weeks.

Other: Don't waste your time unless you only need it to work for a week. I buy locally now - it costs more but my time is worth it.

Pros: Bought it for a raspberry Pi project. It fits, it works, it's small, it's cheap. What more do you want? It can be a hassle setting up the wireless, it's true, but that's not this units fault :)

Cons: Not much, you could say something silly about it being really small, but seriously, that's not a con. You'll also lose the little plastic cap that protects the usb, because it'll be in the port all the time. Deal with it :)

Other: Get it for your raspberry pi projects! you know you want it.

  • Great little UUSB-WiFi dongle

posted by metafisica on 05:41:16 G1T 16/01/2014 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It works as advertised. It gets recognized by my little raspberry pi without additional drivers.

Cons: None so far. It seems i might have to re-compile the driver to make it work as a bridge withe little raspberry pi but there are thorough instructions for that on the internet. Very low WiFi power, but what did you expect on this size.

Other: If you own a Pi get one now. If you need a long link get a device with an external antenna. If you are close to the router this is the device for you.

Pros: - plug-and-play. I used Linux which has driver built-in for this device. - good signal strength - could be used an AP

Cons: the USB connector is little longer than other mini wifi-USB card and leave 1-2mm outside the USB socket.

Other: good product and worth the money to own it. If you want to build a wireless hotspot on RPI by yourself, it's definitely a choice due to the minimal foorprint. Even the signal is not comparable to device with antenna, it has fair signal strength for regular use.

  • It works with Raspberry Pi

posted by BrBuyer on 04:15:10 G1T 09/01/2014 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I bought it to test with RPi, because the recomended ones are way more expensive. And it DOES WORK WITH RPi! I also tested it in my desktop computer (windows 7) and the instalation has to be made by hand, with the included CD. Provides a stable and fast connection in linux and windows.

Cons: I guess it is not a con by itself, but it is really small and easy to lose. I would make the silicon cover with an openning for attaching it to a keychain, perhaps.

Other: If you want to connect your RPi, or older computer, this is the adapter to go!

Pros: Cheap first of all, small, has a blue light indicator which helps to understand if it is working or not, efficient and useful, satisfies your needs

Cons: The driver is not that user friendly, it mixed up the languages and is hard to understand. Also it fits in the USB port with a little force, dunno, maybe just mine is just a bit bigger.

Other: If you are in need of a Wi-Fi adapter, or you are not satisfied with yours, you should buy this product, you will not regret it.

  • Plug and play on Linux

posted by ChrisWellington on 08:06:15 G12T 20/12/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Used on a Raspberry Pi as a cheap wireless dongle and it works fine. No drivers needed on Linux, though I don't know about Windows. It does ship with a CD and manual.

Cons: No speed records here. This is going to give a slow connection, but that's what you get at the size and price. Inserting and removing it from the Pi did cause it to reboot, but that could have been an issue with the Pi and not with this. It also got a bit warm to the touch, so I'm not sure how much power it uses (that only matters if you have a very low-power computer).

Other: If you need a cheap wireless adapter and aren't looking for speed, this may be an option.

  • Looking for WiFi for Raspberry Pi? Try this one!

    posted by noccy80 on 11:08:15 G12T 19/12/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Low power consumption (if you tried other older USB WLAN dongles you know what I mean) - Low power also means less heat, this dongle doesn't seem to get as hot as many other dongles do. - Works out of the box with Raspberry Pi and Raspian Linux. - Very tiny footprint, only about 1cm outside of USB connector.

Cons: - The connector is a little longer than the depth of the USB socket (~0.5cm). No big deal, still tiny footprint!

Other: I will definitely buy more of these for the rest of my Pi:s. I took the memory card from the Pi, mounted it, edited the network configuration and the wpa-supplicant config. Plugged in this WiFi-dongle, the SD-card, and power, and within seconds it lit up and was connected to my network. Full support, no trouble.
