  • Great for digital cameras or as external high speed storage

posted by Grijan on 09:36:46 G6T 15/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: * Great quality. * Fair speed: 23 MB/s read, 7 MB/s write. Slightly more than the 20 MB/s promised (133x), and enough for transferring big files.

Cons: * Price was great when first offered, but now it is a bit on the expensive side because of market price dropping. * Identifies itself as a removable device, which prevents it to be used as a boot device (which is an easy way to convert to solid state an old laptop). In contrast, the 4GB version of this card identifies itself as an internal device, and works just fine.

Other: Great buy if you have a CF DSLR or need reliable and fast external storage for a netbook/laptop.

  • Excellent price tag for a 8GB CF if you do not need extra performances

    posted by LB750123 on 07:43:31 G1T 16/01/2013 certificated customer

Pros: Very good storage space for the price. I am using this card as extended storage space on an old laptop and its performances and storage space are set exactly as expected.

    Cons: None found yet.

Other: This is the cheapest 8GB CF in dealextreme. Still it works wonderfully. Definetely the best price per GB in the comparct flash department unless you need performances above the 133x speed ratios.

Pros: A quick and large storage card, can contain a lot of images, extremely useful to have for DSLR machines. Works perfectly as well, as it was designed.

Cons: Nothing at all, ready and writes as quickly as it should. There really is nothing bad about it.

Other: Good value, good card, excellent for DSLRs around 8MP picture size and RAW format, up to about 900pictures. With JPEG it is probably more than 1,5k images. (not tested)

  • Meh, Pretty good

posted by AutoTuneYourEye on 14:52:03 G11T 24/11/2012 certificated customer

Pros: Good for the price point. Works well for a good amount of time. I purchased four of them and they worked very well. 1 out of 4 has failed and yes that was very frustrating, but 1 fail doesn't discredit the whole product.

Cons: I have purchased 4 of these cards. 1 went bad after extended use the other three still go strong. I have had a little bit of lag/buffer issues with the Canon 7D, but never bad enough to stop the recording or anything.

Other: Good Card, some flaws. 3/4 work great

  • It's a good buy

Pros: It works as advertised and is a decent price. CF disks may not be the latest and greatest technology, but they tend to be robust and well supported. Good delivery time (about a week), and well packed.

    Cons: Nothing so far.

Other: Terrific as a disk for making embedded devices or playing with robotics. Good price -- cheap enough that if something awful happens you haven't lost a lot.

  • Value for money 8GB CF Card

posted by rsequeira on 21:15:52 G7T 29/07/2011 certificated customer

Pros: - It's a genuine Transcend 133X 8Gb CF card - Does what is supposed to for replacing internal HDD

Cons: - A little pricey - Does not include a case to store it

Other: - Maybe a bit expensive, but does what is supposed to - I would recommend this CF and I hope that very soon bigger CF would be available for a low price

  • It works well in my old iPod mini

posted by Guittone on 14:37:42 G1T 07/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I used this card to replace the broken microdrive in my old iPod mini. It was recognised and it works well.
This should mean the card has good ATA compatibility.

Cons: The information in the package is Chinese-only. But who actually needs a manual for such a device?

Other: Buy it, if you need it.

  • Nice and cheap

posted by Geostant on 09:27:19 G5T 23/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The card seesm to perform well in my Canon 7-HDSLR camera.
While shooting full HD video I didn't saw any buffer issues at all.

Cons: The card's picture on the website does not match at all to what I've received.
    Also,
There is no plastic pocket that came with the card so I can not really protect it while it's not in the camera it self.
    Last but not least,
While shooting RAW in fast burst,
I saw the card slowing somewhat during the writing, but nothing really bad which can hold you down.

    Other: I recommend it !
much cheaper than the SanDisk eqvalent.

Pros: Pretty good card. Using it on my 5D2 and so far has given me no problems.

Cons: Not the fastest card for sure. Its a 133x so don't expect this to keep up with heavy burst usage. Also the case that it came in probably will not last more than a week. Extremely flimsy. Not a big deal if you keep it in your camera, but I like keeping my cards neatly packed up.

Other: Pretty great card overall but not spectacular. Comparable Kingston cards cost the same in local stores here in Toronto.

Pros: The product is the same as described. Comes with a case and a lifetime warranty. Nice build quality. Speed is descent, but not as fast as an Extreme III card.

Cons: When shooting multi shot at a fast speed, even if the buffer of your camera is okay, the card get slow pretty fast. So dont use it for burst mode. But the transfer speed to the computer is pretty good.

Other: I didnt want to pay 100$ for a 8$ at my local store so this is the best deal I could have get. I am very satisfied with it, buy it!!
