  • Servo

Pros: SmThis is a nice little servo for fun-, slow- and park-flyers. IT works perfectly with my Multiplex receivers. All 6 servo I bought have no jitter and work precise and fast. Cheap! Good power! Very good responses and pulse. Smooth moving.

Cons: From shipping all the oil can move to one side. I recommend you re oil it. Nothing else at this price.

Other: If you plan to make some experiments (for example with Arduino), it's a good thing to start with. 5V servo, no additional power needed.

  • Good for the price but don't expect precision

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cheap, for sure, and can be used in most of the cases where a simple and cheap servo is required.

Cons: I'm not sure if it is just the unit I got or they all have this issue but it doesn't reach the full 180 degrees of rotation expected. The full range is around 160 degrees.

Other: Cheap and sufficient for simple experiments and general use but look for a better quality servo if you want precision and better control.

Pros: It is cheap and standard size. It good for prototyping and little home things. I used it for mounting this hexapod: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31569 They fit exactly in the support pieces. Similar servos are more expensive.

Cons: End stop is not absolutly precise, axis should no be positioned at the end of carrier. Screw holes are not closed.

Other: It would be great if end stop be better calibrated. It works fine with arduino.

Pros: It's works really good. It's pretty small; nice for small arduino/do it yourself projects. It's color matches the colors in the circuit.

Cons: No datasheet included but it can be downloaded in the internet easily. It's gear can most probably break because it's just hard plastic.

Other: Servo motor is overall nice. I can use this in many of my upcoming do it yourself projects including projects in my course.

  • It works.

Pros: It works, movement seems smooth and servo is very light. Pinions are plastic build, I have no idea how many time past until it breaks. Torque is adequate (1,2Kg) to little aircrafts or small rc cars and is very light (9 grms). Have complete adapters and 3 screws. Works with Futaba radio equipment.

Cons: At this price, you can find other alternatives at half price with similar quality.

Other: I will not recommend buy this because other sites have similar servo at half price.

Pros: This is a nice little servo for fun-, slow- and park-flyers.
IT works perfectly with my Multiplex receivers. All 6 servo I bought have no jitter and work precise and fast.

Cons: As any other servo in this size with plastic gears, the gear can break. So you just have to know what you want, what you need and what you use it for. Then everything is fine.

Other: If you need or want a stronger servo, go for a metal geared. For light and not very expensive planes, this one is ok. I just ordered some more.

Pros: Small, lightweight, fast respones time. Works well with my reciever. Looks pretty nice as well.

Cons: Could be made a little stronger like others have suggested, but that would negate the pricepoint if machined brass output gears were installed instead of the current injected nylon ones. If they had two different SKU's one a few $ more for brass gears instead then people could get exactly what they wanted.

Other: As for me, it did exactly what i wanted it to do at a price i was not going to have a complain about.
As to the issue of "throw" i figure 170' was half decent considering the size of the device. I don't think you can really increase it much/any more without starting to give negative throw at the ends of the arc. You want a bigger throw, get a bigger servo and put a resistor in parallel with the potentiometer.

  • Great servo!

posted by carlosgss on 07:22:12 G12T 06/12/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Cheap! Buy 5 as the bulkrate makes it the same price as if you bought 4 - Clear lets you know if a gear is broken later on. - Blue is a classy color, but if you don't like it you can paint over it to make it whatever color you like. - Included control horns and screws are useful too. - Length on the servo wire is above average for a micro servo. - Very fast, with very little overshoot. I would say they are at least as fast as any other non-brushless servo.

Cons: - Was very oily out of the bag - One of them had no grease inside the gears.

Other: Buy it if you need a little servo for a micro or mini model you have.

  • wish the top gear was metal but great!

posted by USmokk on 00:26:53 G9T 17/09/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Unit is roughly the size of a quarter, accepts PWM control, very supple cable, the darker of the three wires is the V-. red is V+ and the lightest of the 3 is the signal wire. came with multiple horns and screws.

Cons: The output gear is a slightly knurled plastic knob with a screw hole, locktite was helpful in securing it. it will strip loose with too much reverse torque. a metal output gear would have been much better

Other: Great size, really wish it had a brass gear output, buy in bulk, 4 bucks a pop is a great deal for these things, in the states they are at least 20 bucks a pop
