  • Wide bright light

Pros: Been using this light for 3 Tasmanian winters. Easy to install and remove. Button on handlebar great, certainly close the thumb, and it is easy to use and the colour coding of the charge state is simple but effective. 1400 lumens is very bright. The light pattern is wide with the two smaller lights and its great in the bush on single track. Nice variable power control.

Cons: Uses up the battery quickly on full output, approx 1.5 hrs or less so am often reducing the output by varying the power. Cabling has damaged once at the plug (soldered new plug cut from extension cable for same light). Central light is not as bright as a 900 lumen single light.

Other: Good light, wide light pattern.

  • Excelent bike light

    Pros: - Excelent bike light
    - Strong light (the car drivers think that there is an motorcycle (or another car) coming in theirs direction.
    - Safety to use it with your bike at night.
    - The light reaches great distances.

Cons: - The contact between the light cable and the battery has no protection against water. (take care of it).
    - The Catch "The Ring" does not hold on tight during bumpy, largely

Other: I use the light on my tours at night through the Amazon jungle, where lives ounces (Jaguar) wild and poisonous snakes - see where in these GPS (Google) coordinates:

Pros: Awesome piece of kit. Have used it for over 1 year now (most days) and it is still going strong. Multiple light level settings are an absolute dream to use. I use this for day and night riding, put simply, I couldn't be without it.

Cons: I initially took it apart and applied silicone to the cable entry/exit, as it wasn't weather proof.

Other: This is a terrific light. I use it along side a Stella light that cost twice as much, but I prefer the Majic Shine.

  • VERY BRIGHT AND WIDE

    posted by jamagz22 on 23:51:34 G10T 13/10/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Very Bright!
Wide Beam with all lights on
    Build quality is very nice
    Cable lengths are just nice

Cons: No complain at all only the o-ring style mounting. at least the mounting is the aluminum type that can be srewed or tighten so that it will not move. But for the pricing, you cannot expect much... one more thing is the battery pouch when you install in the frame is not so steady but for sure it will not drop because of the garterised strap.

Other: Powerful light for awesome night riding!

Pros: This bike light is very bright. Good battery life.

Cons: -Mounting with the rubber band is not working well, the light does not stay in the right position on a bad road. It always turns upwards. -Low lights beam is shining too high, and there is no way to adjust it. -Not waterproof, after 8km in the rain there is water visible in the middle light.

Other: Really not what i expected for this price. Because the Belgian Post has made a misstake, i had to wait for almost 6 months, and i expected more quality from this bike light...

    Pros: It`s bright. It`s cheap.
Nice quality, strong design of aluminum body.
About 2-3 hour life on maximum power.
    Cool looking :)

Cons: Very weak fastening. On cross-county road often slide down.
Haven't cup for middle lamp ( and its illuminate tree top ).
Button led bright too match. Its blind me on dark road.

Other: Good one, but need some handmade.

  • Faulty Power Selection Switch

posted by Shutterlag on 07:28:33 G10T 02/10/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The light distribution is excellent. The two side lights spread a wide beam across the road. The middle main light produces a bright far reaching beam.

Cons: The power selection switch didn't work, resulting in only two modes being selectable. The lamp head is a bit bulky on the bars with the side lights sticking out.

Other: Not convinced of Magicshine quality control or build quality. Could be a great item if the two side leds were incorporated inside the lamp head and quality was better.

  • Amazing!

    posted by avk75 on 09:33:34 G6T 18/06/2010 certificated customer

Pros: -separate units for short and far lights each designed to best serve its main purpose, i.e. short light can't be used for bringing remote objects out of the darkness but CREEs at 100% output put out so much light expanding to both sides of your vision that no other light is necessary; far light torch is designed to reach remote objects, still much less effective for close range viewing.
-unlike other bicycle lights dissipating lenses are employed with short light Crees providing for unprecedented spill
-very convenient command LED thumb button enlighted depending on battery charge level (Green – full charge, Blue – 75%, Yellow – 50%, Red – 25%)
    - command button (clicky type) is used for switching between 4 modes- short light ON, far light ON, both short and far lights ON, all lights OFF- and stepless brightness control (engaged by command button pressed for more than 1,5 seconds in either lighting mode but OFF mode) - easy and pretty straightforward feature
-constant current ensured by LI-ION battery provides for constant brightness even when the battery power is down below 25%.
    - rubber ring mount – nice feature to remove your light quickly when you intend to leave your bike unattended for a while, also makes it easy to adjust short and far light angles when you switch between the modes.

Cons: -no way to adjust far and short lights but to do it manually every time you switch between short and far lights – I was really upset with this inconvenience first.
-rubber ring mount won’t keep your light steady on cross coutry rides. Though good for city and park rides, will shake vigorously when you go off road even when you use the smallest rubber ring mount enclosed with the kit.

Other: I tried several lights for which I spent nearly the same price as for Magicshine, all of them together are nothing compared to the MAGICSHINE alone. This light turns night to day for hours and gives me confidence to ride wherever I want and as fast as I can. My advice to those split between saving some bucks on a cheaper light and scraping up some extra bucks for Magicshine is to cast away any doubts and order Magicshine. You will love it for sure!

  • good light

posted by mdekkerpoulsen on 12:21:51 G6T 10/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -The light has an overall good build
    -nice power

    Cons: - odd cable lengths
    - heavy
    - shakes while riding, due to thick rubber paddning in the mount.
    - some silicon had to be applied to waterproof the pods.
-the main unit and the two pods, seems to light up the same area, with the pods going a bit wider.

Other: Good ligth, but i don't think that it's worth the extra money over the sku29489.

  • Great light for the money.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Multi-Mode Thumb Button (with memory)
Wide spill on Crees - fantastic peripheral view using this unit.
    Good spot on P7
    Minimal heat buildup during rides.
Lasts about 2 hours on full charge at Maximum output.
The GREEN 100% - BLUE 75% - YELLOW 50% - RED 25% - lighted thumb button helps the confidence level when you are far from home.

Cons: Bar Mount is weak for anyone riding off road. This light will vibrate alot on down-hill runs.
The silicone O-Rings are versatile, but not effective for mountain biking. Don't get me wrong - it holds on just fine, but I like my equipment to fasten rock solid.
Lumens are over rated - more like 900 (Based on all the lights I own)

Other: This is a great bar mount light for filling in the corners of your vision and lighting the ground right in front of your wheel. I would not use it alone, nor as a helmet light; but rather in combination with a high power, narrow beam, helmet light. It is just what I have been looking for.
