  • Excellent flashlight

posted by nicolasantoci on 21:44:01 G1T 10/01/2013 certificated customer

Pros: Excellent flashlight with great lighting. Tough and strong made ??of aluminum. Works with a rechargeable lithium battery. Visually it is a very nice and very good finish

Cons: I not found any cons. Sometimes you have to adjust the switch because it makes good contact but is nonsense

Other: Excellent flashlight for adventure, going outdoors or any other application that requires high illumination.

  • Still Best One i own till now!

posted by Mawco on 04:07:47 G9T 19/09/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I own this light for about 2 years and still is the best, compact, handy and enough bright flashlight for me. I tried other ssc,XPE,XRE,XPG (with one or more emitters) but this one wins above all. Maybe others were little more bright and powerful (especially WF-1200, sku.59821) but also were not handy as this one. This spiderfire is just best in any way. It has good build quality - for example it fell on the ground many time but it never broke. Even glass is still original without any scratches. You can dissaseble flashlight completely, that is big pro for me because it's possible to mod this light by and i did it. Also it has only 2 useful modes! Not like others flashlights have 5 distracting modes that you have to click trough, i really dont like that. 2, max 3 modes is exaclty what i need. No blinking, sos or so..

Cons: - tailcap switch is too tough for me (needs too much pressure for click - it can be also done by changing tailcap for softer one problably but i never tried) - i bought couple of them and every time color tint and brightness of led was different

Other: I've own couple of P7/MC-E torchlights (sku18475,22569,13336,12060) but this one is still best. It's small, bright, lightweight, cute ,cheap, has solid construction and nice white light.. Definitely everything can be improved but this one is really great flashlight that i like.

  • Small and bright

posted by valokuvaaja on 04:07:07 G11T 01/11/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: + Small
    + Quite bright (~400lm)
    + Great flood
+ Uses only one 18650 battery
+ No driver or other fancy modes

    Cons: - Bad build quality,
(The reflector was too long and the emitter was not in the middle of the reflector. I sanded the reflector until it was perfect and the emitter was in the middle. Also the emitter was badly solded and the thermal paste was dried.)
After these little fixes the light will be perfect!

Other: If you need small and powerful light that fits nicely in your pocket, order this. Just remember that there are brighter lamps too!

  • VERY BRIGHT!

posted by tarwood on 15:56:46 G8T 07/08/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Absolutely bright! - Useful high and low settings. - Good finish and very good craftsmanship. - Nice Black finish.

Cons: - Hot! - You have to cycle through high in order to get to the low setting. - You have to cycle through Low in order to turn off flashlight, while in the high setting. - Expensive.

Other: Awesome flashlight, I have nicknamed mine Moon-Beam. As the through and the flood is great on this light. Very powerful flashlight. Would buy again.

  • Great Little Flashlight!

    posted by Mtrhd0024 on 12:08:25 G7T 23/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Super bright flashlight in a very small package! I chose this over all the other P7 flashlights because of its size. It is slightly smaller (shorter) than most of the other 1x 18650 P7 lights on Deal Extreme. It also looks really cool!
The build quality is nice overall. The threads are pretty smooth, and the black finish is excellent. My light arrived with no nicks, scratches or dings.

Cons: The only major con with this light is that it did not work when it arrived. I traced the problem back to the tailcap. (the emitter was fine)
I took the light apart, and after some fiddling around, found that the little black plastic ring surrounding the tailcap spring (designed to insulate it from the body of the light) was too deep, and it wouldn't let the switch circuit board ground itself to the flashlight body.
I sanded that ring down by hand with some fine sandpaper, tested everything with my multimeter, put it back together, and now it works perfectly!
The light should have worked right out of the box, however it turned out to be an easy fix!

Other: Awesome light for relatively little money, quality control is somewhat absent, however its a simple device and fixing it if necessary should not be difficult!

  • A nice worthy flashlight that is powerful

posted by raymind on 00:39:42 G6T 15/06/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very nicely made flashlight with nice build quality. It's comparable to much higher priced flashlights which probably won't perform as good as this one. It's also very small, and you can carry it with you anywhere. Put it in your pockets or use it as a bike light at night, it's very convenient to bring along with you all the time.

Cons: It heats up very fast as you were using it for a longer period of time. The metal that conducts heat very fast which also means that it dissipates heat relatively fast. The inner constructions are not of perfection. You can probably find some flaws in finished soldering.

Other: Get it and enjoy using it. It's a great little toy that you can play around with and also it will come in handy when you truly need it. I use it for night hiking and it's super bright. It lights up a huge area around me, and the battery that I was using with it lasted a long time as well.

  • edc for a year and a half

    posted by drew222 on 13:15:29 G2T 23/02/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Smallest and least expensive p7 light that's not a p60 (which would overheat) when i bought it and probably still is. Double battery springs and direct drive equals very durable. Dropped it countless times and it still works. Glass lens with an o-ring seal that dampens shock. Waterproof. 17mm board and 20mm round led mount with removable bronze pill for optional upgrading

Cons: With the xm-l out this light is close to obsolete. The switch is kind of questionable. It's a square, three contact switch soldered to a circuit board an a resistor for low. i did replace it once with sku 5604, however it was precautionary because of bad contact through the tail i took it apart and applied silicone grease and cleaned the threads

Other: durable! i use it when i weld and there are a few melted spots on the lens. A friend of mine has his mounted on a shotgun and it works great. sku 12895 might fit it?

  • Very bright, very white, and a nice wide beam

posted by esuhl on 04:55:34 G2T 06/02/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very bright, Good value-for-money, Hand-strap included, No fancy (troublesome!) electronics, Seems to be well-made (time will tell).

Cons: Gets quite warm after 10 minutes or so without air passing over it. (So not a problem as a bike light, but if you wanted to hang it up in your tent when you go camping... your tent would probably melt!) Too bright to use on roads - pointing the full-beam straight ahead will blind/dazzle oncoming drivers.

Other: An incredibly bright P7 LED with a good, wide beam - perfect as a bike light.

  • nice flooder

posted by MicFre on 04:37:55 G1T 21/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: +superb build quality +simple and straight-forward UI +smooth beam +great balance between flood and throw for night walks (light is rather floody but has enough power to cover quite a range)

Cons: -this light is not even close to 900 lumen (I expected the light to be overrated so this was not a real con for me.) - for some reason I don't like the feel of the clicky (maybe because it has a flat cap instead of an arched one)

Other: The light might seem a bit pricey at first sight, but the superb build quality is definately worth it.

  • nice flashlight, but not too bright

posted by keepcoding on 09:15:53 G1T 20/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: + good color and shape of light beam + very good light beam (very wide and nice shape) + very good build quality (really amazing) + small and lightweight + seems to be waterproof, but did not test it yet

    Cons: - a little bit expensive - it's NOT 900 lumen, I guess it's about 200 - 400 max. - runs with an inexpensive 18650 battery

Other: Go for it if you are not looking for the brightest flashlight on DX but for one with a very good light beam and build quality.
