  • Perfect for regular and slow shooting

Pros: Cheap adapter for using SD card in a CF Slot. Been using this adapter in my Nikon D300 as a reserve memory card, i bought a second one for my colleague to use in her Sony DSLR. Works as stated, no problem. Used it together with several kinds of Micro-SD cards with a SD adapter in this adapter. Largest micro-SD card I tried was 16GB, no problem.

Cons: Not optimal for fast shooting at high resolutions in RAW. Bad, faulty SD cards will work until bad memory block is written to. Picture will be corrupt. Other pictures work though. Camera wont know any differences.

Other: Get one as a backup.

  • Works with Olympus E520

Pros: This is the best way to get the wi-fi SD card working with your older Olympus DSLRs. Although the new E5 has an SD slot, the rest don't.
It accepts the SD card in the slot and works flawlessly with the camera.
Cheaper to buy SDHC than CF memory, and seems that SD is becoming the standard for DSLRs and mirrorless interchangable lens compacts, better to invest in a bunch of good SD card than CF.

Cons: none that I could find so far.....

Other: Buy a couple to replace the CF cards!

Pros: Work with my nikon d300 end tahat what i by this product and work geat. If you have class 10 sd card is realy fast no problem at all Adapter and works great !

Cons: no cons maybe can be smaller. Remember this card is of _TYPE_2_, which means it is thicker than Type 1 and doesn't fit the slot in some cardreaders.

Other: if you have Nikon d300 you can buy it :) I like this DX product and also I buy transcend card 16gb clas 10 end together is fantastic.

  • NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CANON 10D

posted by artlopes on 14:37:30 G9T 05/09/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Although well made, isn't very fast, but works with no problems connected directly to a portable computer. is capable of reading any of my SD cards, as the speed is related to the Sd card quality.

Cons: I essentialy bought it, to work in my Canon 10D, but unfortunely it dont. I tryed all of my Sd cards, but the camera just dont accept the adapter, acusing a disk error in the LCD panel.... Well... just have it here for dosmestics...LOL

Other: Buy it if You don't have a Canon 10D!!!! It's still a nice DX product.

  • Cheap way to put a 16Gb+ CF card in your device

posted by BrunoCr on 05:03:09 G7T 31/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I needed a way to get 8Gb+ card in my Olympus E520 Digital Camera and I find this item ! Now I can have a 8GB and a 16GB (up to 32Gb) just by buying cheap SDCards instead of pricey CF Cards. Fits perfectly in my Olympus E520. Tested with 16Gb SDHC Card, 8Gb and 16Gb (Team Partner group sold by DX) SDHC microSD with SD Adapter and works great !

    Cons: No con so far.

Other: Need to get big CF cards but without paying the price ? Go for one of this and use cheap SD Cards !!!!

  • Good acquisition!

Pros: It is not a bargain, but is not expensive and help save some money. CF cards are already very expensive compared to SD ones. I tried with 2 SD the class and they stood well in my Canon EOS 400D (which only accepts CF, so it was a good upgrade). Even in sequential photo, they did as well as the XD ones. The construction is very good, and the performance is as good as well.
My Lexmark X7675 also fully supported reading and writing / deleting files.
I can not find any fault!
Readers that do not accept CF Type II, should accept the SD, don't you think?
At least when I ordered, knew what was going to buy, and was very pleased.

Other: Buy one or two and free yourself of the old CF.

  • Useful gadget for amateur photographers

posted by GrayCatt on 15:30:11 G7T 09/07/2011 certificated customer

Pros: Allows usage of many SD cards that I have at home in my Olympus E-620, which accepts only CF or XD. Writing speed (with Class10 SD) is quite sufficient even for serial shooting.

Cons: Remember this card is of _TYPE_2_, which means it is thicker than Type 1 and doesn't fit the slot in some cardreaders. Besides, one of my very old cardreaders accepts it but doesn't read. In photocamera and other cardreaders everything OK.

Other: Very useful gadget for photographers with CF-equipped cameras.

  • Works well but a little slow (on E-3)

posted by sadwitch on 01:25:14 G6T 17/06/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Item arrived in package different from the one pictured here. But it works well on my Olympus E3. Tested with a Kingmax SDHC 16GB class 10 class. Very handy to have since most devices now are shifting in SD cards.

Cons: A little slow when writing compare to normal CF cards. Both my card reader can't detect the CF with SD card inside which is strange since it works with my camera.
    A little pricey too.

Other: Get it if you need it.

  • Good, but rather slow

posted by Stevelers on 14:26:52 G3T 15/03/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Easy to use, rather good build quality. Works correctly with a 16GB SDHC card.

Cons: The speed! My class 10 SDHC card is really slowed down by this adapter. Small comparison, read data with HD Tune and write data with standard Windows file transfer: Directly from the SD card read: 17.9MB/s average write: first 7.5 to 8, then 8 to 8.7MB/s Using the SD - CF adapter read: 8.3MB/s average write: first 6.5 to 7, then 7.5 to 7.8 Maybe it isn't just possible to reach class 10 speeds with such adapter, but it would have been nice to know that. I mean, read speed using the adapter is less than half of the speed of the original card! Other con: the adapter is rather pricy, in spite of its usefulness.

Other: Handy, maybe a bit expensive, but have a good lock at the transfer speeds!

  • works fine with Creative Zen Player

Pros: I am using my Creative Zen player to backup my camera cards while traveling. newer cameras do not use CP cards anymore and I was looking gor this adaptor for a long time.... it is much easier to cary the Zen dvice tather than a laptop computer

Cons: none until now. I will report in the future if any new problem accrures. The price is a little high but if you need it you probably have to pay

Other: A real must for those who need it.
