Pros: Very cheap filter. Provides amazing magnification and quality, sharp images. It does not distrupts the shot's quality. Very easy to use, also it works with your camera's AF.

    Cons: Nothing.

Other: If you're not sure which filter you gonna buy (+2, +4, +8 or +10), definitely go for this one. You're not gonna regret it...

Pros: Good lens quality, without scratches, fits very well on canon 550d 18-55 lens. The screw is of good quality also. I was plesantly surprised of overall filter quality. Also, it does the job.

Cons: Filter gives photos very small depth range - you have to use manual photos and better tripon and shooting of moving objects becomes very hard with it.

Other: For lovers of macro photography it is good product. I also have 6 star filter from same manafacturer, and it shows same good quality

  • Cheap alternative to expensive lenses, great product for a photo-hobbyist

    posted by 77ymarko on 06:31:55 G5T 11/05/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good quality and great price. Turns any lens into a macro lens by reducing the distance at which it is able to focus on an object, so you can get much closer to an object which you are photographing.

Cons: I have the difficulty screwing the filter on a lens. The thread on a macro lens filter is not the best quality but after few tries it does screw on.

Other: Great product for a amater photo-hobbyist who can't afford expensive macro lens. If you're into the macro photography or you just want to experiment it a bit, this product is a very cheap way to do this.

Pros: Fitment is really good; it's simple to attach; effect is really coll; the package is good to carry in pockets, bags; i think that is gonna be a good filter for a novice photographer like me xD

    Cons: the effect is not really as i thought, but it's ok; the filter is a little bit heavy, but it doesn't affect the usage;

Other: if a friend of mine are looking for a cheaper filter i'll definitely indicate this one.

  • Good For General MACRO Photography

posted by hemabh on 20:55:30 G3T 12/03/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Hi.. I am a Photographer -- owning multiple cameras & lens. I have purchased this MARCO EFFECT Lens (58mm) for my 18-55 Canon lens.... Good Quality -- It does MAGNIFY objects closer than the minimum focal length of the lens -- Quality of Photo remains the same.... V Close objects which would get blurred due to short focal distance would get clearly visible after attaching this Lens Filter Good Tight Fit on the lens -- and also can easily be removed. Glass Quality is Good -- Cannot easily crack.

Cons: Heavy. The MACRO EFFECT is not large... A small magnification - Also the Box in which it came was a little delicate

Other: A Good Buy for people who like MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY......

Pros: It turns a lot of lenses into macro lenses. This filter comes in quite handy if you need a close up just once in a while.

Cons: However, this filter works best with my 18-55mm kit lens; my 50mm 1:1,4 doesn't like this filter at all, there's a lot of glare and unsharpness, no matter what I do.

Other: It does the trick for little money, so buy it if you want to try it out but don't expect too much!

Pros: Does what it says on the tin. Screws to the filter mount of the lens and makes it an instant macro lens. Cheap way to test macro photography very small thus easy to carry along

Cons: none really if you understand what you're buying.

Other: Nice little gatget to us who need to take a macro picture once in a while with no need for full professional kit. Some sort of tripod seems to be a must-have. And one that allows you to place camera close to target will help a lot. Some sort of ring flash might help with the lighting of the target but so far managed without one.

  • A very nice macro-filter!

    posted by manen6 on 15:25:11 G4T 01/04/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The effect you can creat/use are endless and for the price it's very affordable. You can turn your kit lens into a $1,500+ macro lens for a fraction of the cost, what's there NOT to like? The quality is great too. It doesn't feel like something cheap nor something badly built, it has a nice weight to it too.

Cons: The two cons of this product would be: 1. You can't attach the lens cover when the filter is on due to the curvation of the glass. 2. The plastic-thing it comes in doesn't do a very good job of keeping dust from entering.

Other: If you're really into macro-photography this is a very nice beginning, and it's so cheap! Buybuybuy!

  • Cheaper than any macro lens

posted by bestenemy on 19:56:07 G2T 02/02/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Turns any long lens into a macro lens, by reducing the distance at which it is able to focus on an object. Saves a ton of cash and space in your camera bag.

Cons: Due to such high magnification ratio the filter generates a lot of distortion and glare. The front end of the filter sticks out quite a bit, which means you won't be able to add extra filters on top of it. If you're stacking filters in your camera bag like I do, you'll be putting this one on last.

Other: Glass quality is more than sufficient for the price point. The glare resulting when shooting shiny objects such as jewelery at high magnification may actually be used as an artistic effect. I'd recommend going with a 8X macro filter instead of this one, because 10x is pushing the limits of what any glass can do.

Pros: A good and cheap filter, using this equipment is possible to visualize several details that the naked eye is not possible.

    Br
Um filtro bom e barato, usando esse equipamento é possivel visualizar varios detalhes que a olho nu não é possivel.

Cons: There is a small problem with screw fixation, and because their angle makes it impossible to use another filter on the front ..

    br
Existe um pequeno problema na rosca de fixação, e devido seu angulo impossibilita usar outro filtro na frente.

Other: Would you use such equipment a few times, more is always good to carry a backpack next to that filter.

    br
você usará esse equipamento poucas vezes, mais sempre é bom carregar um filtro deste junto a mochila.
