Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Has Nikon TTL built in so you can meter the exposure on the camera and fire it of camera, placing where you want to.

Cons: A little expensive, but still worthy.

Other: A must have for event photographer who shoots with Nikon, specially weddings as it happens at night very often. A tip is to hold the camera on the right hand and the flash on the left hand so you won't get that flat looking from straight flash pointing from the top of your camera.

Pros: Much cheaper than brand name version, Thanks DealExtreme!
Works flawlessly with my Nikon D60.
Has 2 locks, one lock to secure it onto camera hotshoe, another lock to secure flash. That is more than I expected. The lock is designed perfectly for Nikon system. I'm talking about a small pin that fits down into a hole to keep it held securly in place. You can use the lock on your Nikon flash as it was designed to be used. The part that sits on the camera also has the same locking pin, but no nice lever, instead, you have to screw down the knob. Screwing down the knob lowers the pin.
It comes with instructions in English.
The part where the flash mounts has a female thread mount for a tripod.

Cons: It would be more convenient to have a lever instead of the knob that has to be screwed down, a minor point. It still have a pin that comes down that secures it to the camera.
The part where the flash mounts to can be mounted to a stand in 2 ways. It has the shape that fits onto the onto the camera which I think is worthless. It is probably made to mount onto a flash stand and I don't have a flash stand. If I did have one of these supposed flash stands, I would be diappointed with the build quality of plastic mounting. It is thin plastic that looks like I could break it off with my bare hands. The second way this can be mounted to a stand, is the standard tripod thread. These threads are metal and I do have a normal tripod, so to me, this looks like the better option.
In any case, the cord lenght is not nearly long enough to mount the flash on a separate stand. The cord length is just right for holding the flash in one hand, the camera in the other hand, no more than that.
As expected, don't rely on the advertised cord length. I cannot even believe that it was 1.8 meters BEFORE it was coiled up. With the cord in its relaxed form, you have about 10 inchs. I don't feel comfortable stretching it out to more than 2 feet total length. I'm afraid that it might not coil back tighly if I did that. FORGET about 1.8 meters. You can't even use half of that amount.

Other: Good product overall. Locking pin works with Nikon System. TTL works.
Still a lot of money, but much cheaper than brand name.
