  • Just awesome, the size and the power is perfect

Pros: ery powerfull, i used a normal litium battery and it worked very well, i can't wait to use the trust fire battery to see if there is any gain in performace. Massive light is emitted and I feel much safer being able to light the way

Cons: It gets a little hot when using for long time, but not a big deal, the clip is very cheap, so i took it out of the flashlight.

Other: Perfect, perfect, perfect, but do not give it for children, cause they can hurt their eyes spotting at it.

  • A lot of poer fro a small light.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It is small and light. The button is firm and responsive but prone to failure (see cons). Massive light is emitted and I feel much safer being able to light the way and get drivers attention. At night there is a visible beam.

Cons: After the first day using it the half button function failed. I am now only able to use the one function which is full beam. Fortunately high bean is all I need to use as the main light on my bike helmet. The body is not indented enough so it does slide in the hand a bit when pressing the on off button.

Other: Despite the half press function failing I can not complain with the price and 250 lumens output.

Pros: Very powerfull, i used a normal litium battery and it worked very well, i can't wait to use the trust fire battery to see if there is any gain in performace. Can light till like a 100 metters, fits inside the hand, very usefull to camp or night fishing.

Cons: None till now, do what is should do.

Other: Do what is should do, and do it very well, already ordering another one to use as a step flashlight.

  • Sleek and elegant

Pros: Very elegant, fits nicely everywhere. No 'cooling fins' just for show (has been on for almost an hour using a lithium cell, no overheating). Robust, survived submersion and being thrown repeatedly. Uses AA batteries. With a lithium AA cell it is surprisingly strong.

Cons: * No zoom-optics. Only throw. * It is assembled by screwing the parts/cylinders into each other by threads. If they are out of alignment, it may behave wrong (e.g. can not turn on. Or off). But they can always be realigned. * doesn't remember previous state (minus one point in ease of use).

Other: I have two. I like them in some situations (I also have some in the same size with zoom for flood-throw, they are not as elegant but useful in other situations).

  • POCKET SUN!

posted by aozsyn on 20:15:21 G12T 10/12/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Fantastic, bright little pocket sun. I carried a single-cell CR123 light for 6 years before picking this one up, and the light output is astounding. Combined with the quick switch to low power consumption (which I normally use), this is my perfect Every Day Carry light. I haven't used a AA in it, honestly I couldn't get what I thought was a fresh alkaline to light in it. Doesn't matter, with a 14500 in it I've used it for several minutes per day and rarely need to change the battery out before a week. Totally worth the two I bought, I'm thinking about how to justify another two and keep them in various places. I'm sold.

Cons: Solder joint on the LED plane could be a little more robust, the light tended to flicker a bit (or outright go out) when the crown was screwed down tightly. Reflowed both of them with a touch more solder and no more flicker. Rear plug is kind of odd, but nothing to really worry about

Other: Great light, fantastic price, well worth the wait for post.

  • Good little thower, poor on AA's

    posted by samus001 on 21:20:21 G8T 06/08/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Really like the build, solid casing and nicely focussed beam. The switch is very positive, solid click and easy to access the modes. EXCELLENT output on a 14500, acceptable output on an AA. Pocket clip is nice as well, and easily removable if desired. Threads and O-rings are all nicely done. Overall a good package.

Cons: Disappointing AA Alkaline output. Very little grip on the body, the cuts on the middle of the body are next to useless, although a little skate tape fixes this up. The switch could be a little lighter, without the skate tape on the body, it was a two-hand affair to actuate. Crenelations are far too sharp, easily cut the pocket of my pants. O-Ring on the tail-cap had been pinched in the thread. Worst feature of the light is the useless disco strobe mode.

Other: Great light on 14500's, still handy enough on a fresh AA. Good fit and finish with a few issues that are easily rectified beside the disco mode. I'm buying several more as gifts. Good way to get people onto 14500's. Recommended.
