Pros: It's small, discreet, occupies little space on your desk and the usb cable is long enough to allow put the pad in any place around the computer. It comes with an black, simple touch pen to use on the pad.

Cons: All that came with this product to be read by the consumer came in chinese, and I don't read chinese ! My unit came with no printed manual, only the box printed in chinese characters, the pad itself printed in chinese characters and an installation mini-cd that opens on the computer in chinese characters !

Other: It can be worth if you read chinese or get someone to translate the manual and the screens on the micro to you or if you want to be challenged about to install the software and try use it by trial and error. I think the manufacturer needs to include an printed manual at least in english to allow consumers from other parts of the world besides China to use this potentially good product.

Pros: pad is good. good for parts too.

Cons: Not much at all but the included software sucks. Ok so maybe the software ain't so good. The software is very unreliable(ie.slow computer)
so get it from searching google.

Other: Need to read chinese of tranlate it? get this definetly.

Pros: Its really so small, weightless and handy.
A simple and cheap alternative to WACOM. It does its job well. Everything as said.

Cons: Its not the perfect writing pad, and certainly its not at all good for drawing even in mspaint. it struggles to work as a mouse but works fine as a pen. as others said, the software is another problem finding a good one in english. for me the one came in the cd wasnt good. i downloaded the english supported software from a link posted in the forum section.
it dint work well as a pen inside my onenote(that is the purpose why i bought this). as i said it struggles for being a mouse.

Other: Buy it if you want to learn Chinese and Japanese Kanjis, dont build too much expectations thinking wacom in mind after ordering this product. though it didnt serve the exact purpose of purchase i am still happy with this product.

  • Cheap but not so good

Pros: It's nice to play a little, to draw a little simples drawings....
    it's cheap.

Cons: - I don't know chinese, that's make the use a bit difficult...
    - It hasn't got software in English, only in Chinese...
    - The performance is bad, If you want to buy it to draw something more complicated...

Other: Don't buy if you want to draw or to make signatures online.
I would suggest for DX that they put some software in English, that would make everyone's job a lot easier.

    Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: Not very responsive. I'd say there's half a second delay between my actual movements, and the cursor following my movements on screen. Also it has a horrible resolution. The mouse cursor does a staircase-like movement when you draw a diagonal line a bit slowly. If you draw it fast, it looks better, but that's probably due to the software averaging the pen position. This would also explain the poor response time. Aw, well, can't really complain about a 7 dollar product I guess.

Other: Maybe you get lucky and get a better one than I did. Reading other reviewer's positive comments makes me think I just got the wrong item

  • Good for chinese characters recognition

posted by PasGlop on 11:47:42 G1T 29/01/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It's really cheap. If you need it to recognize handwritten Chinese characters and you have windows configured in Chinese it works pretty well. For the price, the build quality of the one I got seems rather good. It's light but don't look too fragile.

Cons: It don't recognise japanese characters like it is said in the description.
If you don't have a Chinese version of windows you must have the non Unicode programs in windows configured to Chinese or it won't show the characters correctly even if you have the east Asian language pack installed.

Other: The comments I put are valid only for the version of the tablet I received, but as DealExtreme seem to change suppliers very often and without warning, maybe the one you will get will be different.

If you know a better driver compatible with this tablet I would be grateful if you could tell me where to find it.

DealExtreme should remove "Japanese input" in the description as it is not true for this version of the tablet.

For this price you won't be too disappointed even if it don't work exactly as you expected :)

Pros: It works great. I can draw pictures more easily now. When I use a whiteboardmarker, it's totally awesome. It responses quick.

Cons: The software I recieved on CD was not the same as the guide for setting it to English, so I only can use the draw function, not the text. I've tried al options, but nothing worked for me.

Another con is that I recieved my pad in a damaged state. Scratches all over it and it looks like it has been used for years.

Other: This is a nice thing, and for the money you cant go wrong if you want to try something like this.

  • Good product, good price

posted by TedHead on 09:37:02 G11T 06/11/2007 certificated customer

Pros: - Mouse mode: Really draw anywhere you would usually have to use a mouse (e.g. Photoshop) - Accurate and responsive

Cons: - Chinese installation, lack of English mode on provided software. Instructions on DealExtreme use more modern software which isn't shipped and is only available on manufacturer website, which is down.

    - Cheap build quality.

Other: English software needs to be shipped with product. It exists but I cannot obtain it.

Otherwise, once you figure it out, it's very useful and you can't go wrong for the price.

Pros: Helps with writing signatures and keeping track of hand written notes. It's strong quality and works double as a mouse.

Cons: The color of the cable was different than in the picture, and it came with an unusually large stylus.

Other: Great for anyone wanting the ability to handwrite on their computer, and just fun to use overall.

  • Definitely Would Recommend

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: No pressure sensitivity is a plus for me because I intend for this to be a writing pad and nothing else. It is intended to replace my last one (???II) as it is slowly deteriorating into non-functional because it has a tendency to not sense some strokes while you are writing a complicated word. 2nd nice thing about this is the bigger writing screen (again compare to the dying one), this one measures 7x5.3cm while my old one was 6x4cm. It may not sound like much here, but there is a significant difference when you use it. The software that came with it also projects your word to quite a large size, which works out to be a great for the elderly folks who will be using this. Another thing is the thoughtful design since they put in a built-in pen stand. I don’t seem to have the same problems as one of the previous reviewers as mine writes smoothly.

Cons: Minor issue here, but the 3 buttons were not constructed with care. When I press the leftmost button lightly, I can hear a distinctive click. When I press the middle button, I need more force to get that click, and the button on the right gets pressed when this happens. Now when I press the rightmost button, no click at all. The back of the box shows that the middle button is the mouse/writing pad toggler while the left button acts as left mouse and word selector; right as right mouse and word eraser. So chances of me using the left and right ones are slim anyways, as long as the middle one continues to work I will be happy.

Other: My 3rd writing pad so far (one wireless, two wired), this is something that I would buy one for every family member. One step install (might help if you switch your language of non-Unicode programs to Chinese PRC) requires that you pick a location, then everything is intuitively easy to use from there. Too bad about the buttons, but no big loss for me. Last and final thought is that the software is eerily identical compared to my last one, which in this case makes the transition much more pleasant.
