Pros: This product reads and writes memory cards and let you use 3 USB devices. It connects easily and works (at least in XP). The read-write speed is very good. It has LED indicators. Lee y permite escritura ademas de 3 puertos USB. Se conecta fácil y funciona (al menos en XP). La velocidad de lectura/escritura esta bastante bien. Tiene leds que indican cuando funcionando.

Cons: It is necessary an adaptor for a micro-usb cards because it has not micro-usb slots. Short connector cable, you need another cable-adaptor it would be necessary. Se necesita un adaptador par alas tarjetas micro-usb. El cable de conexión es corto, seria bueno un cable un poco mas largo.

Other: Good and useful product with a nice Price. Bueno y util, por un precio bajo.

  • Cheap. Low speed.

Pros: It looks nice. It's simple to use. It's cheap.

Cons: I wasn't able to get fast transmissions. It doesn't come with any drivers and Windows says "This device could perform faster". Sure it could! But how??? Ok, it's slow. The USB cable is very short and also, sometimes I move the device a bit and it gets disconnected, so there's a bad connection somewhere..

Other: If you just want to be able to read small files from memory cards and connect non "data intensive" USB dongles, this is for you.

Pros: This product reads and writes (not just reading) common memory cards and allows use three USB devices.-
It connects easily and works (I use w7).-
The read-write speed is very good.-
It has LED indicators for operation.-

Cons: No readers microSD (Adaptor is needed and runs normally).-
The USB-miniUSB connector cable is too short (40 cms. In all), so another cable is required to have those features, longer.-

Other: It is a necessary and useful product at a good price.-

  • cheap little card reader

posted by medoc on 02:46:54 G4T 20/04/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cheap. It does what it says. CF card reader. Why are these so difficult to find inexpensively? This is why I bought it and it works just fine.

Cons: Cord included is so short. If you want to use this as a hub to keep your desk clear of a bunch of cables, you're probably going to need a longer cord to connect it to your computer. It feels cheap and light. Honestly I'm surprised there's working computer parts inside it. But it does indeed do what it says. The labels were poorly stuck on. I had to push the edges of the paper under the sides a bit more just to make it look a little better. Copying is SLOW. 1MB per second slow. I put in a CF card with 1GB on it and deleted some files. Deleting is fine and perfectly fast. Copying however is really slow. I hesitate to use this as a USB hub because I bet all USB transfers will be slow if it passes through this thing. But as a CF card reader (the main reason I purchased it) it works well enough and I'm patient.

Other: If you don't mind waiting a few minutes for the transfer to complete, this card reader is fine.

Pros: This product gives you the ability to plug any of your camera cards and 3 more USB devices.

Cons: the mini usb plug is so cheap that it broke and I had to repair it by myself (and with so tiny connectors, it's not easy !)
unfortunately there isn't connector for miniSD / MicroSD

Other: you've got all in one in a cheap but usefull product.

  • Works, one at a time.

posted by fryingwoks on 18:10:10 G6T 25/06/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This works at reading my cards, which is what I wanted it for.
I needed something that could read CF cards (I have plenty of SD readers). After figuring out which way to insert the card (it wasn't obvious), I plugged it in, and it worked right away on Windows XP without any additional driver installation. Just a simple USB mass storage device.

Cons: As far as I can tell, it only accepts one card total, at a time. Just eject your previous card and plug in a new card. Sometimes I had to unplug the entire thing from my USB port to register the new card.
This would be a problem if I used the USB hub.

Other: Cheap. Works. Now when my device with the CF card dies, I can still read the files off it. Worked with SD cards, too.

  • Could've been better

posted by Nthenorm on 00:14:17 G10T 19/10/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -Both a memory card reader and a USB hub in one convenient package
-Supports nearly all my memory cards and sticks
    -LED indicators, for indicating stuff

Cons: -Cheap build quality (though that should be expected)
-Extremely short USB cord (luckily I kept a spare)
-Memory cards are very wobbly while inserted
    -AC adapter would've been nice
    -Doesn't support microSD/microSDHC

Other: You get what you pay for. Personally I wouldn't buy one again if I had a second chance.

  • Cheap, worked for a while

posted by phobyte on 17:01:01 G10T 14/10/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It worked for a while and read all of the cards I put in it. I tried it with Compact Flash, SD and xD. Each worked as expected

Cons: The card reader stopped working after I tried to format a CF card. Now I can't read or write to any type of card. I've tried CF, SC and xD. The card reader used to show up in Windows as a drive, now it doesn't. It's like the card reader is not plugged in, expect the USB hub works

Other: If it worked I would have been happy with it. I really wanted the card reader more than the USB hub.

  • Card reader is USB 1.1, Hub is USB 2.0

posted by manyac on 02:56:03 G9T 25/09/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cheap, small, plug-and-play. It's nice that you don't need an adapter for memory stick pro duo cards. It accepts card with and without adapter.

Cons: According to linux kernel messages, the card reader is internally connected as a USB 1.1 device, instead of a USB 2.0 device. With a 2GB memory stick pro duo card, the transfer speed is only 1 megabyte/second. In another cardreader, the same card runs at 9 megabyte/second. The USB hub does not have this limit. It is a fully functional USB 2.0 hub, which I verified using a USB 2.0 memory stick.

Other: For a little more than the price of a normal USB 2.0 hub, you'll get a USB 2.0 hub with an additional slow built-in card-reader.
