Pros: Great price for a intelligent and educational toy, acceptable quality, package not so protectfull. I recomend for gift to friends or adolecents.

Cons: It is not easy to make it flying, patience, and several days looking around, not good manual at all.

Other: Video shows first time that i get it flying ... try number more than 50 I recomend for gift to friends or adolecents.

Pros: it does look cool. my young brother loved the experience of finding the right balance and when we did, we made movies for him to take to school. it was a success.

Cons: it takes a while to find the right spot, some children might give up

Other: amazing product for family working together, for teaching a little physics to your kids and to have loads of fun!

  • Cool but hard!

Pros: It makes for a nice gift! I bought one for my little brother, and he thought it was pretty cool! Very cool thing to show of to your friends!

Cons: It's very hard to get it to hold the spin properly. But after a while siting with it it will work! It helps to meditate on how the magnets effect each other, and to understand where the fields interact.

    Other: Nice little novelty item!

  • Levitron or whirligig?

posted by Lirney on 13:46:09 G7T 18/07/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Relative affordability (similar cost 2-3 times more expensive)
    - Good design, ala "dharma initiative"
    - Spectacular levitation, if obtained by running top
    - Trains agility and coordination

    Cons: - Difficulty in using
    - Build quality

Other: Good design, affordability and a cool effect levitation negates the poor design and difficulty of use. If you want an inexpensive levitron and practice his skill, then this thing for you, instead you get a floating object, but perhaps only for a moment.

  • difficult to use, nearly impossible, in fact.

Pros: it's a pretty neat toy overall, and if you've ever watched the show "Lost" the logo on the base plate can allow it to act as a reference to the show, and its theme of magnetism.

Cons: it's incredibly hard to get to work properly.
i still can not get it to hover for more than a few seconds before it falls outside of the magnetic field.
the wedges included to help stabilize and level the base plate are not a good solution.

Other: it feels more like a puzzle than a display piece. but it's far less expensive than other types.

  • Sci-Fi hand/eye coordination game

posted by marcelxl on 05:04:10 G11T 10/11/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - It works great - It looks like sci-fi :) - Very amazing when you are playing for the first couple of times - Good for training kids hand/eye coordination.

Cons: - Build quality is a but cheap / lots of plastic (where you might expect more metal) - I don't know how long the fun will last (but my visitors still like it when they see it for the first time

Other: Gadget with a high level of coolness. Great fun to play. Hovering is achieved by a magnetic field. This is a useful game for training eye/hand coordination of children and it keeps them away from computer games (for a while) ;-)

  • Nice magnetic floating spinner!

posted by Lizarb on 18:17:29 G10T 12/10/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - The magnetic set is very good to spend time and to exercise some hand skills. - It's good for children, being a very interesting stuff to attract them to study the field of Physics. So, teachers can buy it to teach their students. - It works perfectly as it's supposed to.

Cons: - The build quality is not so good. The paint of spinner didn't keep for long, as it fall down everytime in the floor. - Also, the pieces that make the spinner have broken (just separated) after falling down some times. But, I could fix it by just using a strong glue. - It may take some time to get the spinner floating. But this is part of the entire set, because we need to make a few tests using the plastic and metal pieces in order to change the magnetic base angle and/or the spinner's weight.

Other: - You won't regret for buying this magnetic spinner! It's worth to buy it.

    Pros: really cool idea
i have seen a gyro like this once before and as far as i can tell this once is of equal quality.
looks great if you can do it

Cons: very hard to do, not sure if i just dont have the skill or if this is a bad product (more likely i just dont have the skill
i have had mine for a week now and still having trouble
    no instructions

Other: this would be a great product if i could manage to do it
if you have used one before and know you can do it this may be a great, cheap, hovering gyro

  • Great game, average realisation

posted by Freakazodiak on 16:04:42 G7T 26/07/2009 certificated customer

    Pros: +Good game
+All you need to make it work

    Cons: -Average to bad quality
-The paint is coming of on the spinner
-The balancing of the spinner is weak and you can never achieve perfect stability. Might have to do with the quality of the magnetbase and the spinner.

Other: Good game, its fun to figure out how to get it levitating and then feel great when it does levitate.
