  • Very useful

Pros: Very cheap, very useful for macro pictures

Cons: you have to remove a little screw from inside a ring...it is the risk to remain inside and than can't remove the ring from the body. You need more light to shoot with that and you need to use a tripod if you want to use all three rings..

Other: very good value for price. You need more light to shoot with that and you need to use a tripod if you want to use all three rings.

Pros: this item (Macro Extension Tube) is really useful and nice to use, I know it might not give same result what you expect, but comparing to the cheap price it is very good.

Cons: Cheap quality but comparing to the price it is ok... check youtube before fix it to your dslr camera to avoid breaking your lens

Other: Please if you are first time to use it then go to youtube and have a look on the video on how fix it to your DSLR camera, because if you don't know how to fix it you may break your lens.

Pros: small / compact / lightweight / splittable / great quality / good looking / great for doing macro pictures / easy to mount on and dismount / simple for use.

Cons: price - its just a bit higher than it should be... thats just by my opinion, otherwise i do not underestimate the quality of the product.

Other: Great Product Great Quality Great Look Easy to Use I would recommend it to everyone that like to try macro shooting for low price with his standard lens.

Pros: Its build is very tough. Like aluminum but way tougher. Im not so sure about how to use it yet so i cant really say what it does and how good it is. But judging from how i got it and how it works, i think its a good buy.

Cons: The screw to attach it to a lens is abit loose. Not so sure about others, but i dont think there is any.

Other: Would like to learn more about the product before i buy next time. lol. because now im not so sure about how it works.. hahaha

Cons: For the price and for the application I think there is no cons. Maybe it could be a little cheaper as is very simple product.

Other: I recommend. It is very fun make picture with this accessory. Good way to experience macro photography without expendind a lot of money in a expensive macro lens.

Pros: Very Good price. Quality is good enough in comparison to the price. Output is really good. Loving the depth of field of my pictures after using it. The best part I can control the zoom. I am planning to go for the auto focus one.

Cons: The packaging quality is not good enough. When I opened the box it seems little risky. Could have been damaged while shipping. It has been shipped only in one white paper box. Another con is focusing. It is really hard to focus on this one.

Other: The product is really good at this price.

  • Cheap but a litle bit manual

Pros: Cheap, works great with my Nikon D-3100. Best result taking food photos.

Cons: I need to adjust my lens before use this. If you don't see nothing, open the aperture and test again. I don't like the screw, sometimes it stuck and I do a slight force to put in place.

Other: If you don't have problem to adjust manually your aperture, it's a great product to take macro photos.

Pros: In resume is good.... Good construction and works great.... It has a good build, seems to be durable. After awhile you conseguirar easily fit the extension... Very good price. This one in Brazil is much more expensive...

Cons: Dont work with the 18-55mm KIT lenses... The joints are not perfect, but they work....

Other: If you have lenses compatible and want photos macro, it is a good buy...

Pros: Cheap. Relatively easy to understand and use. Customizable (in the way that there are different "modes".

Cons: Eject-button/pin not problem-free. You can only use it for optics with manual focus.

Other: Useful and good considering the price.

  • Not a bad piece of hardware

    posted by infra1 on 03:51:34 G10T 12/10/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -Great inexpensive way of turning your older lens into a macro lens
-Went on and off without a hitch on my D7000
-Offers a significant increase in focal length with your current lens

Cons: -You MUST have a lens with an aperture ring (older lenses)
-A caveat with this technique of creating a macro lens is you lose light -- not sure how much but I'm reading a fullstop -- so low light won't work too well unless you have a lens with a super wide aperture
-Some people may have to fiddle with it to get it nice and snug when using more than one of the spacers at the same time
-Lens may fasten incorrectly (does not snap in) if inserted at the wrong slot point --- it will still screw in, but the small bolt that clips/locks the lens into place will not engage -- just remember to fasten the lens with the white dot indicator (if your lens has one) so that it's lined up with your camera body
-Don't lose the screw that comes with it -- it's a tab to pull the lens lock

Other: If you don't want to spend the big bucks for a macro lens and you've got an older lens with an aperture ring, you should definitely give this a try! Just be prepared for a little fiddling around with it to get it secured right, but it's really not that bad. I've been using it for a little while and I'm quite comfortable with it. I've had no issues with the spacer getting stuck to my D7000's body. In and out, just like a normal lens.
Check out the video clips I've added above.
