  • Does what it is supposed to

Pros: Works excellent on my alpha 380. It has two functions - immediate and after 2 seconds. Batteries are included. Has a manual, which is not really needed, because the device is really simple and easy to use.

Cons: It has to be pointed directly to sensor and it doesn't work from a greater distance.

Other: Good value and works perfect. Definitely will recommend to my friends!

  • Works fine

Pros: Nice to have when you don't want to shake the camera or you want to be in the picture. Works fine and well built.

Cons: You need to point the remote at the front of the camera for it to work. Most of the time I'm behind the camera so kind of inconvenient. Also small and easy to loose. I have little kids and one of them found it and ran off with it. Found it days later in her room.

Other: At this price you might as well get it.

  • Works perfectly with a A330 !

posted by osouto on 04:33:27 G11T 05/11/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It works without any problem with my Sony Alfa 330, you don't have to configure anything (only choosing the right option in the camera, shoot with remote control) just press and that's all. It has the most important options for this devices, the 2-sec delay shutter button and of course the shutter button to use in combination with bulb mode on the camera where you have to press once for starting the capture and press again to stop it. Very very usefull for long time exposures! And it's very small.

Cons: For telling something in this part, maybe the buttons are not so resistant so I don't know if after thousands of shootings they will work as the first day, but in any case, it worth it, sure.

Other: A must have for all Sony Alfa users with a camera with the possibility of shoot with remote control (as the A330). It's necessary for long time exposures and I recommend also to use a tripod, turn off the "steadyshot inside" and use the AF-S for improve sharpness.

  • Won't work on A100

posted by noircl on 18:54:37 G6T 24/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The device is cheap, looks good and promisses to work on ALL Sony cameras with IR port. Box came in good shape from DX and the instructions booklet comes with english instructions that aren't hard to understand!

Cons: Sadly, the device won't work with my A100. I tested the light on my cellphone camera and I can see it blinking, so the device it's not defective. Reading the manual showed that the remote is built for the A700 and mentions no other devices, needing to put the camera in a special drive mode to use it.

Other: Be careful when buying, or you might end up with a 3 dollars turd.

  • Nice, small and useful

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very small and works well with my Sony Alpha A230. The camera responds very well to it (once I figured out where the sensor was on the camera). The 2-sec delay shutter button is very useful, to hide the remote when taking a picture you are in.

Cons: Range is a bit of a problem. It works fine at short distances, but I had problems using it at distances over 10 meters (30 feet). Not sure what is the actual working range, and perhaps ambient light is a factor.

Other: For its price, it works very well. it's about 2 to 3 times cheaper than other similar remotes I've found.

Pros: Works great with my Alfa 330! Has the most important function you need, the 2 sec delay shutter. Small remote! very light, but feels ok when i use it. build quality fine, feels as strong plastic.

    Cons: not found yet.

Other: for this money a must have for every sony alfa user with IR remote ability!
