  • Excelent cheap scale

Pros: -accurate scale that doesn't deviate noticably -comes with batteries included

Cons: it looks cheap It feels flimsy and the top cover doesn't seem very solid

Other: Great for measuring things that weigh between 10 mg and ~1 gram. Cheaplooking, but it costs next to nothing.

  • Nice little scale

Pros: So last week I received this mini-scale. My first impression: it's a lot smaller than it looks on the pictures. The box it came in had suffered a little damage from shipping, but the inside was still good. The batteries are included, which is very nice. It also comes with a manual, but it does not have any usefull information if you know what the on/off and tare button does.

Cons: When it arrived in the mail, I inserted the batteries and turned it on. It just displays "OUTS" or "OUT2". The manual did not cover this error, so I went online and found a solution to this problem. If you receive this scale and it also displays OUTS or OUT2, the scale needs to be calibrated. You press and hold the MODE and TARE button, and press the ON/OFF button once. The scale will start up, it will display OUTS/OUT2, and after that, it will show CAL. Now you can release the MODE and TARE button. Make sure there's nothing on the scale, and press MODE. The CAL will start blinking, and after a couple of seconds, it'll display 10.000. Put the 10g weight on the scale, and it will calibrate itself. After a couple of seconds the calibration is done and you can use the scale.

Other: It's affordable, but the manual does not cover every step of operation and it has a slight deviation when you remove the weight. Other than that, it works like it should.

  • Good little scale

Pros: Small, sensitive, precision scale does the job.

Cons: Instruction page gave wrong instructions for calibration. It referred to a button that does not exist. I tried a different button but it didn't work. I finally figured it out but the procedure is not as documented.

Other: Took a bit of tinkering but I got a useful scale at a very good price.

Pros: Good functionality Accurate indication (1 mg) Uses common AAA battieries Calibration (weights included)

Cons: Very cheap build quality No backlight Very stiff buttons

Other: In principle the scale does what promised. But due to the cheap plastic construction (easily bends) and very stiff buttons it is hard to achieve accuracy better than 0.01 g without very careful handling of the scale. After calibration and careful operation I could indeed achieve repeatability of 1-2 mg but it does not look like a scale that could be routinely used.

  • High precision for a low price!

posted by Tinymini on 08:51:54 G1T 15/01/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: High accuracy for a low price, exactly what I needed.
Normal price for 0,001g accuracy cost around 50$.
English manual and easy to operate and calibrate with the English manual.
Includes calibration weights 10g and 5g.
    Includes batteries, and tweezers.
The best box I ever received from DX.
    Good LCD display.
Many units g, gn, dwt, ct.
    A nice cover.
It's very cheap and excellent for poor people like myself.
I bought it for weighting chemicals and this product was perfect.
Free shipping is always a plus.

Cons: The LCD screen got no light.
    The 5g weight was useless.
You can't calibrate the scale with the 5g weight.
You need your own bowl when you want to weight powder or chemicals.
Arrived dirty with a weird smell (cleaned it easily).

Other: It's very cheap, but also very good quality.
I have used this scale for 2 months and it still use the old batteries I got from DX.
I own 3 scales from DX and this one is the best.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - Accuracy of 0.001 g
    - Calibration
    - Comprehensive manual in English with pictures and descriptions
    - Good box which protects the scale during transport
    - Easy to operate
    - Choice of units (grams, carats, grains ...)

Cons: - Worse processing display cover (I had to stick)
    - The quality of calibration weights is smaller than I expected

Other: I bought the weights to control the amount of gunpowder for reloading. In this control activity is entirely sufficient. I just had to improvise and use a bowl instead of a blank cartridge.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - 0.001 g accurate
    - Good scale plate (easy to take items on and off)
    - Can be calibrated with weight applied
    - Shipped with two AAA batteries
    - Shipped in hard box (it keeps scale safe enough while delivering)
    - Has manual in english (helps with calibration)

    Cons: - No scale backlight
    - Buttons are quite hard to press

Other: I bought it to use in jewelry. I compared it with professionally calibrated 0.01g scales and they proved to be good enough. So it worth its money.
