  • Not as good as on description

Pros: Good quality. Works good with windows Vista 32bit. Easy to use

Cons: The range isn't 5600m, more like 500-600m on an N network (it says 1000m on package). So the description of item is wrong. If I see 5600 meters range on description - I expect, that it will be at least a half of it. If I knew that it is only a 1000m range - I wouldn't buy it. It isn't much better than my original adapter im my laptop (Intel 5100). In general, it increases only one or two (sometimes) bar in signal compared to Intel adapter for those closest networks. However, you notice the advantage of an external antenna for far networks, because the internal adapter is not able to detect them.

    Other: none

Pros: Well build, i easily found x86 and x64 drivers (Windows 7 and XP), good power, i could "see" networks from far away that i never could see with notebook built in wi-fi. Because of the USB cable, you can always move to a better location. The detachables antenas permits to change it for others kinds more powerful.

Cons: Because of the 2 bigs antenas, it can easy fall... No problem at all, you can use a tape to fix or velcro as I did.

    Other: I will buy another.

  • Perfect for windows, but lacking on mac

Pros: From what I have used it for it so far has great reception, the antennas feel like they are atleast medium quality and for the price it is a GREAT buy. I'd personally say get it if you need an external mic for testing "your" wifi's security.

Cons: The part where the antennas attach to the case is extremely weak and will detatch if not handled extremely carefully, not a big deal though, they can be re attatched, the drivers that came with it dont work on OSX Lion and higher, atleast as far as I tried. The antennas seemed to have a little rust on the inside, but nothing that would affect them too much, after all its a great quality for this price.

Other: Bad drivers, good signal, bad antenna attatchment, decent build quality, good buy for the money.

Pros: great long distance reception works with linux, backtrack, macos extremely cheap compared to brand divices easy to use, works out of the box, windows and linux instal the driver themselves, two antennas, they can be replaces by higher gain antennas

Cons: no casing to put it on a wall or glass or laptop short usb cable, antenaas make it so heavy that you need one

Pros: - Works. - Includes USB cable

Cons: - Does not work as good as the wireless that is build into my laptop. Connecting to wireless stations with low signal doesn't work. - Driver issues on Ubuntu 10.04 (doesn't work out of the box, but can be fixed) - Bulky - Not that cheap - Bad build quality. On the unit I received, one antenna was a bit loose. It occasionally falls off.

Other: Definitely not as good a dongle as advertised.

Pros: Came with a Ralink RT2870 chipset. Works fairly well, stable and all. Great Signal.

Cons: The driver disc is messy like most other devices that comes with driver disc in dx. Fairly expensive. Sometimes the driver dies and it gets yellow exclamation with no internet connection until i reboot, could be my Windows thou i'm not quite sure. (happens only a few times)

Other: Great if you need to upgrade your adapter or is looking for one with better signal.

Pros: Antena compare to 48dbi Signalking 999WN 2X Dual antenna.
Which one is more stronger ? I'm looking forward to get the strongest between both of this.
Is this better than Signal-King 360000N.Compatible with Windows 7, XP, Vista,
Mac, Aireplay, Already tested with aireplay injection and it works perfectly!
& you gain more AP compare to G adaptor because a lot of router today are
    using N signal.

    Cons: None for nay

Other: -I went for the most expensive store that deal extreme had and this was it lol.
Could not of gotten something this good locally for the price. This is currently my favorite store. The electronics, appliances,
jewelry, clothing, home furnishings and beauty is well built and
quality is very good, very reasonable prices. If you are looking for
the cheapest and best quality at the same time, it can be better
than DealExtreme... The products you buy here will last a life
time and they are so quality is amazing. This I write from my personal experience

  • The quality is equal to price

posted by kalupator on 01:07:04 G1T 24/01/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I purchased this product, not for speed 802.11 "n", but for the sake of the signal range. And I was right. Through 5 walls the signal remains stable - there was no disconnection have been posted yet. Build quality is excellent. In win 7 drivers are installed automatically.

    Cons: - Antennas are backlash.
    - Adapter falls on its side of the weight of the antennas (shown in photo) - the center of gravity is not correctly defined.

Other: The quality is equal to price. I was expecting the worst but was pleasantly surprised. I advise everyone!

Pros: -Fast shipping, about 10 days after placed the order. -500mW instead of the 100mw eirp from my laptop. -the range from which i can access my router triples easily.. So also reception got a huge boost, my router is still 100mw -Windows 7 has drivers, cd not needed..BUT.. there is a nice utility on the small cd to find your accesspoint (and many others, all this in in real english, not the usual expected bad translation -Maybe illegal in your country (as is here) but as an electronics expert, i know, the chance of getting caught for creating interference is very very close to zero... (Microwave ovens create 1000x more interference in the same band) Last but not least: Happy wardriving

Cons: -Had to pay some customs duty, but this was expected. -Does what is says, so no real cons..

    Other: Don't think, just buy

  • Adapters work great, poor driver support in win 7

posted by Mussels on 01:16:07 G5T 15/05/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Works great in backtrack 5, cracked a WEP wifi in under 7 minutes, my first time using a linux OS.
Adapters come with built in drivers in windows 7 - some problems with this, see cons.

Cons: Built in drivers to windows as well as generic ralink drivers work fine, but only at 150Mb to my TP link router (TL-WR941ND).
I bought these for the 300Mb feature, so its damned annoying it doesnt work. a TP link branded 300Mb adaptor connected just fine and synced at 300Mb.
When connected to an XP SP3 machine without the drivers installed, it caused havoc on the machine. USB mouse stopped responding properly and the system lagged so badly i couldnt install the drivers. Did not attempt a fix.
The software (note: driver only install works) bundled with the adapters (and the latest update from ralink in late 2010) do NOT work in windows 7 x64, SP1. It refuses to connect to networks and actually breaks windows own wireless connections, making wifi networking unusable until the software is uninstalled.

Other: If you dont have the issues i did with getting a 300Mb connection, you'd probably be happy running just the basic drivers without the software.
My problems are all software related and not hardware, so its quite possible a driver update will fix these issues. eventually.
