  • Good and silent cooling fan

posted by GLaDAP on 02:36:59 G3T 27/03/2013 certificated customer

Pros: The fan is silent and it does cool the video card well (ATI Radeon 9500). It is a cheap and good product to use on your old videocards or on low-end cards today. Installation is easy (at least on my video card)

Cons: Not really, the only thing is that to mount the cooler on the videocard can be sometimes difficult when the holes on your videocard are closer than 5.5cm.

Other: If you have a videocard with an broken fan or other defective cooler, then purchase this one. It is a good and silent cooler (my hard-drives makes more sound).

Pros: This heatsink-fan took down aprox 10 °C from my old card wich were working at 70 full load and now gets only to 63
on iddle works at 50° and it was usually 60°.
It fits perfectly on the holes of my video card
    (zotac geforce 8500 gt)

Cons: not so strong contact with the gpu so I will look for some screws
is not a con but my post service bended a couple of fins
the fan makes a little bit of noise

Other: for me works better than the cooling that my Video card had it...

  • Nice little cooler

Pros: - All aluminum body. - Good smooth surface in the bottom. / It's made of aluminum sheets - think Zalman / - Powerful enough fan. - Easily removable fan. - 2 pin connector - With some manipulations can be used for mb bridges cooler.

Cons: - NO means of attachment, no plastic screws or metal ones. - A lot of damage during transport. - It's a small cooler for low-end GPU cards.

Other: I use it on server low profile GPU - works like a charm.

  • decent cooling, quiet, why not.

    posted by mikes78 on 10:45:32 G4T 19/04/2011 certificated customer

Pros: Cheap, lits of surface area for the fan to cool thanks to the high number of fins and the thin thickness of them. Good airflow, super quiet.

Cons: Mine appears to be another victim of the over-enthusiastic postman as this was another fan that my postie has near-destroyed by jamming in my letterbox. a dozen or so fins were near unuseable thanks to him, but that is no fault of the manufacturer or dx. So be warned, if you get this item, make sure you have enough other things in there to make it not practical for it to be put the package in your letter box, or for them to even consider doing so. You'll save yourself a bit of grief by spending that little bit more :D

Other: Not bad, Shame i didn't get to try it out more than briefly thanks to the above reason.

Pros: Inexpensive replacement cooling fan for a GFX card. Seems to offer a decent amount of cooling power for its price. Perfect fit for an old PNY(?) Geforce 7600GT.

Cons: The fan blades had gotten bent during shipping. Not a big deal, it took less than 5 minutes to straighten them up. The plastic mounting pins were missing, so needed to improvise a bit. After 2 months of use the bearings have started to make noise.

Other: Good choice if you need to squeeze a few more weeks or months of use from your old gfx card whose cooling fan has failed.

  • Cool Fan

    posted by HDC44 on 02:22:06 G1T 05/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: This fan has a huge heat sink attached to it which is cools down my graphics card significantly. This fan also runs quietly and spins pretty fast. After running my graphics card for a while and the card is cool-warm to the touch compared to previously, hot.

Cons: The connector that came with it is smaller. So i had to cut it off and solder my old one on. Some of the heat sink fins were arrived bent, but were easily bent back to shape.

Other: If you need a cooling effective, silent fan, get this.

  • Good for what it does

posted by jackolow on 02:20:42 G9T 27/09/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good value - it is a functioning fan with heat sinks for cheap
Seems quiet - no issues so far

Cons: Some fins were bent when I received my package - was annoying but I fixed it by bending it back. There was no performance loss on it
Dust is getting stuck in the fins which is expected but still annoying
Holes didn't fit my FX560, but some cable ties seem to do the trick

Other: Does the job! Would buy again!

  • Order two...

posted by timotheus on 06:31:24 G5T 21/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -Nice fan, I used it to replace passive cooling on my gfx card.
-Pretty straightforward to install, however it required some fiddling.
    -Pretty quiet.
    -Lowers temps pretty decently.

Cons: -I needed to solder on another fan connector. No matters for me though, I'm used to stuff like that.
-The push-connectors move pretty stiff, which makes it somewhat hard to install.
-Good thing I ordered 2, because one looked like someone stamped on it. (Easily bent...)

Other: It's a good product, but has some quirks and you're better off ordering 2 from the get-go to make sure they arrive in (near) working order.

  • Good cooler for ATI 9600 Card

posted by Harak on 08:53:55 G4T 23/04/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Bough it to replace a dead cooling fan of a Radeon 9600 Pro. It's quiet and I got no hickup, artefacts or any heat related problems with this new cooling fan. This cooling fan fitted well on my old Radeon 9600 Pro without any need to modify it.

    Cons: Nothing.

Other: I will buy another if ever I need a fan for another VGA card. I really good value for my money.

  • Okay, but not great

posted by Admiraal on 12:03:52 G4T 13/04/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The cooler is cheap and seems to be able to fit on a variety of cards. It's also not very noisy and can sufficiently cool lower end videocards.

Cons: The base of the heatsink was rather rough, and several fins were bent during transport. The installation with pushpins is also not the best, but it does the job. Don't expect it to have enough cooling capacity to cool high end cards, but it'll do for cards that use less power.

Other: This heatsink does the trick to replace the cooling of cards with broken fans. Don't expect it to be the quietest or best cooling solution ever and you'll be pleased.
