  • Great little acoustic tool

posted by lajoswinkler on 04:05:06 G6T 26/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The fork is very well made. It is not made of aluminium as advertised, but from stainless steel, but that's good, as aluminium would be easy to distort and lose its acoustic properties. There are no scratches on the surface.

Cons: There are really no cons with this instrument.

Other: Whether you need an old school musical instrument tuning device, or a device for demonstrating scientific principles, buy it. You won't regret it.

Pros: Solid steel, no welding joints Comes in a protective leather pouch Well pitched to 440Hz - A Good grip with the ball at the end

Cons: There is no documentation of any test to garantee a perfect pitched A Price maybe a bit high, it's basically just some steel

Other: Cheap-ish and simple, but missing test documentation, so without any other tuning device you'd have to just trust that the tuning fork is well tuned during production.

  • Simplicity made fun for the kids. Accuracy and durability

posted by aspadua on 11:58:45 G7T 21/07/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Kids who are learning to play musical instruments loves to use it. It's simplicity is quite beautiful, although is not that easy to make it useful. The leather pouch is cheap, but the tuning fork itself is very well constructed and seems to be durable. Also, it is accurate as others have said in theirs reviews.

Cons: There is no cons, except for the cheap leather pouch.

Other: As someone said before, is a charming tool. Worth the money.

  • Very well

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good price for a tunning fork, frequency very closed to 440 Hz when analyzed in different tools: Adobe Audition: 443 - 444 Hz TuneIt!: 440.76 - 441.27 Hz Guitar Tuner (for Symbian): 441.17 Hz There is a little diference among the tools, but in practice, this difference is almost zero and it's very closed to 440 Hz. The pouch is adequated to transport the tunning fork where you go and it doesn't allow to make scratches in your instrument.

Cons: The pouch could have a way to close it.

Other: It's an important tool to teach to your ears and memorize what is an A note. So, if you need a good and cheap option to buy, it's one.

  • Beatifull and precise

    posted by dougperes11 on 16:29:44 G6T 21/06/2011 certificated customer

Pros: The tuner works fine, has a clear and loud tone (exactly 440Hz) and is made from a good quality metal (but it's some metalic blend, not alluminum!!!)

Cons: The small bag that carries the tuner is not made of genuine leather as said at the add. It's made of a cheap material.

Other: Charming, cheap and precise. I couldn't expect more. The carrying bag disappointed me, but the tuning fork itself is very good. I recomend !!

  • Good tuning fork

posted by frollard on 18:52:21 G4T 08/04/2011 certificated customer

Pros: Quite accurate - Measurement using CoolEditPro Frequency analysis shows 440.06hz *see screenshot attached. Frequency measurement taken at ~20 degrees C at 1010 hPa barometric pressure. My phone was also used to test, detects a true 440hz digital signal as 440.8, detects this fork as 441.1hz, which can be attributed to it being an app on a phone. Pleather pouch is a nice touch.. Plating is smooth and seems durable - not like it takes a tonne of abuse.

Cons: None I can think of really...it's not really useful for...anything...at all...

Other: If you really need a somewhat accurate, analog, somewhat awkward to use tuning fork (in a digital age, who has time for a signal that attenuates over a few seconds)...then get this, you can't go wrong.
