Pros: One of the best spot/flood beam patterns I have witnessed in inexpensive Chinese LED flashlights! Usually the difference in illumination between spot and flood is rather stark, but not this light. The entire pattern would be quite useful in the dark without having to continually "hunt" around with just the spot because the flood is useless. Spot seems more focused than diffused. Flood dispersal pattern is just right for any application where a light like this would be used. This light packs a very decent punch for such a small package. I have an UltraFire WF-501B R2-WC regulated for 1000mAh (which is great) and this light is noticeably brighter with a vastly superior transition from spot to flood. Clicky works like it's supposed to. Medium and low settings to conserve power; ideal! Tailstands quite well even with lanyard attached. So small, welcome in just about any pocket you have! Don't like the assault crown? Unscrew it from the body and leave it behind!

Cons: Like any powerful LED in a small package, the business end of this light gets quite warm quickly. It's supposed to; I left it on high for ten minutes; and even though the temperature seems alarming, you can still touch it and not get burned. It didn't continue to heat up; it reached a certain temperature and stayed there. Hell, this thing can double as a hand warmer with a rechargeable battery! People poo poo on the strobe and the S.O.S. functions. If you ever get in trouble, you might just appreciate these modes.

Other: I am even more pleased with this purchase than my UltraFire WF-501B R2-WC 5-Mode 250LM Flashlight (SKU: 106162) Small, extremely bright and effective light! Bring extra 18650's with you if you're gonna be in the dark for a while. That's why I bought 6 spares!

Pros: Very bright! The XP-G R5 emitter is driven very hard (2,35A on high!) and coupled with SMO reflector this has a noticeable throw for a flashlight this size. Better than the UF 2100 with XM-L emitter, which has more lumens but is very floody. Has no mode memory, always start on high, then med, low, strobe and sos, so if you too hate blinky modes, there's no need to cycle through them every time. GITD rubber boot switch glows visible even after hours in the dark. Tailstand (but better without lanyard)

Cons: As it's driven so hard, it gets warm quickly on high (but not as hot as an XM-L) Also, for the same reason, some concerns about useful life of the emitter. My suggestion, not use high for long periods, and switch to med or low if it gets too warm to comfortably hold by hand. SS bezel was not very tight, and required a drop of threadlock compound to keep tight.

Other: Of the many 2100 style lights around, this one has the best hotspot for distance and still enough spill for general use. Amperage in various levels: 2,35A high, 1,14A med, 0,24A low, not measured on blinky modes.

  • Small but powerful!

Pros: Simple and clean design, good quality, great runtime, bright!

Cons: The strap broke at the thin end beacuse the metal is a bit sharp where it's attached. As mentioned before, slightly weak spring at the positive end of the battery, sharp jolts may cause it to change mode. More? Well if I'm to be picky, the threads are a bit rough and could be a little longer.

Other: If you want a easy-to-use, bright and compact flashlight this is the one to get!

Pros: Impeccable quality of housing (very few compromises - see cons).
Very compact size for 18 650.
Full use of the LED and battery capacity - current close to the limit for the LED, but does not overload the battery.
Silicone cap on the switch is pressed against a single aluminum washer to the body, steel assault crown can be removed without loss of containment.
The last flashlight came with an unusual light - the smooth decrease of brightness from the center to the perimeter - there is no hotspot.
    Very inexpensive and functional flashlight.

Cons: The trade-off between reliability and size:
    1. No springs minus contact - instead contact the disc. A concern, but made qualitatively.
    2. The switch from small-size flashlight - in housing diameter 18 can put something more substantial.
No memory mode. What is it? In the presence of current stabilizer is now no reason - the cost of reprogramming the controller or its replacement the same, but the memory is very small.

Other: Shining brightly, long runs, a relatively small, inexpensive and reliable 18 650 EDC. Buying blindly, but very pleased.
    The perfect light.

  • One of the few truly regulated 1x18650 lights.

Pros: The description is true, it really is regulated! The regulation is provided by an AMC7136 adjustable regulator. The sense resistor is 33mohms, which equates to 1.5A with the 50mV sense voltage. I measured 1.32A on high. There's probably some additional trace resistance that is reducing it from the expected 1.5A. Still, it's plenty bright. 350 OTF lumens is a realistic claim.

The spot is fairly small and well focused, about 6 or 7 degrees. The flood is about 40 degrees. This will be a good helmet light for biking, but might be too focused for the bars. Some scotch tape will diffuse it a bit if desired.

It almost tailstands perfectly, with a slight wobble. The lanyard will make it worse, however. The tailcap glows in the dark. The threading is somewhat coarse, but they get the job done. O-rings at all joints will keep light sprays of water out.

This is one of the most compact 18650 lights. The reflector end does not flange outward. It's fairly short.

The LED is mounted on a brass pill which is screwed into the aluminum body of the flashlight - this is a good thing for heatsinking, versus using a drop-in.

The exterior is knurled aluminum, with a 6-sided middle section. It provides decent grip even if hands get wet.

Cons: There is only one spring for the battery, and it is located at the positive end. So sharp jolts might cause the negative end to momentarily disconnect, causing the light to go into the next mode. I prefer to have springs on both ends.

I'm not a fan of assault crowns. They tend to get hung up in pockets. I would have preferred it without one.

Other: If you're looking for a compact 18650 light using the XPG, this is the one to get. The Fandyfire XG-V5 is slightly smaller, however. It's narrower by about 1mm and shorter by 5mm, but it's much heavier because it's steel.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: small, economical, beautiful design, multi-mode (sometimes a lot of maximum)

Cons: no memory, O-Ring Thin - placed 1.5 mm, Stainless Steel Assault Crown is not full thread

Other: For this money, happy, although not without flaws.
