  • Good receiver for the price

Pros: Good quality for the price. It'll work at a nice range if you add an antenna (the place to solder the antenna is identified on the board). Also it is really small so it could be hidden if you wanted to.

Cons: I don' see any cons. It receives signal and this is pretty much it.

Other: If you want to make 2 arduino talk to each other wirelessly, get this thing and 149254.

Pros: Quite easy to figure out without any documentation, all the pins are either well-labeled or obvious. Sensitivity is a bit low without an antenna but that's to be expected - LOL. Once I attached an antenna I immediately picked up my weather station's signal.

Cons: The input coil was mashed flat during shipping but the board worked once I straightened it up.

Other: Easy to interface to my Arduino, good deal. I will recommend this to friends.

  • Easy DIY 433MHz antenna

posted by JBSchueler on 06:11:12 G3T 11/03/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I ordered a lot of these devices now. To get a good range I used antenna's from an other project. Easy to build your own. With an Arduino and the right libraries you can automate your home with ease. Works great with KiKa. Read this document to see how I make the antenna's. http://www.elektor.nl/StreamFile.lynkx?path=Uploads/Forum/Posts/How-to-make-a-Air-Cooled-433MHz-antenna.pdf I use these antennas also for the transmitters...

Cons: None that I can think of... Work right away and compatible with arduino, mbed and all kind of other mircocontroller boards.

Other: Really affordable so if you want to play with 433MHz transmitters and receivers, this is a good buy!

  • Great 433MHz reciever

Pros: Amazing chep and great performance. Works straight out of the box with the arduino virtualwire. In the upcoming day I will check if I can connect it directly to the uart port of the arduino to have more easy communication. I want to use these devices for my home automation and I am not sure if they can reach over 50 meters?!? For now I used a 17cm wire but for better performance it should be probable tuned.

Cons: Well... I don't have any cons till now and I can not think of any. Especially for this price!!!

Other: Really a great product and easy to use. If you want to experiment with 433MHz, buy this product!

  • DIY 433MHz Wireless Receiving Module for Arduino, PIC etc

    posted by JMann1 on 01:40:22 G1T 07/01/2013 certificated customer

Pros: Great device came in great shape and works perfectly with VirtualWire.h Lib for Arduino, making it very easy to use. On opening the mail had it working in a matter of minutes. Great Stuff. Will work with other brand (JAYCAR) modules i.e. "TXC1" (TESTED). 5V Supply. Smaller than other modules I own with all pins clearly marked.

Cons: None at all. Great Buy.

Other: Very cheap, very affordable. Great product for your projects / prototypes. Recommended, GET ONE!.

Pros: The dimensions are so small. It is a good point for what I'm working on. It has all pins identified (GND, VCC, DATA and ANTENA)

Cons: I didn't see anything bad in this device. Maybe if it is smaller than it is, It should be awesome to me.

Other: The price is very good. It's very easy to use. It has all pins identified (GND, VCC, DATA and ANTENA).

Pros: I bougth it for use as rf reciever for X10 rf devices with https://code.google.com/p/arduino-x10/. In general it working with arduino x10rf library. You can connect it to power and digital port on arduino and use this library to recieve signal from x10 radio devices.

Cons: Sensitivity is not good. It cannot feel x10rf tranmitter on 6-7 metters.

Other: I don't compare it with other devices but this one is working.
