  • Problem with driver on Windows

posted by santacrosu on 07:15:19 G2T 22/02/2013 certificated customer

Pros: Sound quality is great. Volume is high. This is good choise for low quality VoIP. I bought 3 units for my office.

Cons: 1) Included software and drivers don't work with this device. You need original software to use builtin amplifier and dsp. 2) Two of three CDs was broken. 3) Also CM108 is sensetive to low-frequency noise from AC adapters etc

Other: Link to self-extracting archive with drivers for XP/Vista/7: http://goo.gl/ylXy4 (Google Drive) http://goo.gl/VtkUQ (Mediafire mirror)

Pros: Small, easy to use (just plug the thing), good quality, very useful (for amateur djs, or if your soundcard jack broke like mine)
oh wait, i almost forgot, cheap! i looked and compared, and this seemed the best value buy.

Cons: If you have the usb ports too close together, it might block the other ports, but i dont think it could be any smaller.

    Other: Definitely worth it.

Pros: Sound Quality is good, wasn't expecting such good sound quality for this price Setup on windows 7 is just plug-and-play really Small

Cons: Looks a little cheap The usb connector doesn't fits very well, it sticks out a little bit, making the card look like its going to fall at any moment. Also, since the USB doesn't fits very well its easy to accidentally unplug the card from the PC when trying to unplug the headphones.

Other: Bought it as a replacement for the front sound ports as they stopped working. For 7 dollars you can't go wrong, if you need a soundcard, this is it.

Pros: This is a great product. A little while ago my on board laptop sound card got messed up. I had two choices.. whether to buy a new laptop or try this out. I decided what the heck.. for under 7 bucks its not a bad option. and I was right. The sound is perfect. no issues with right/left like other posts here... The controls on the actual device works to mute sound, or make sound higher / lower. It was basically plug and play

Cons: There were some cons.. not major but still some for starters.. the buttons on the device are bit sticky.. so its hard to change volume using hardware.. you can however use windows sound device and it works just fine.. The other problem is that the driver for this device are on a mini-cd. The mini-cd i got was corrupted. I had to try it on three computers and finally sorta worked. I tried copying the files from it to my flash drive and then ran the installation - which partially worked (but good enough to run the sound on my computer). It had some missing files and gave me some errors but so far computer works fine. Lastly, not a con with a product, the product took more than 6 weeks to ship. so if you order this you have to be prepared to wait

Other: Great product for price good fix for a computer with no sound card

Pros: No sound quality loss! its really light its nice and small, so doesnt take a lot of space like other ones do no drivers are needed, can just use straight away ( im on windows xp)

Cons: when i use my headphones with it, i hear this weird beeping noise, but when im listening to music its fine =)

Other: well worth the price, it is very cheap, small and driverless, so it can be used on virtually anything with a usb :D

  • Great Product

posted by JBVampok on 14:15:49 G1T 05/01/2011 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: No noticeable sound degradation. Installs automatically under Windows 7 64-bit. Seems to have good build quality. Has buttons to control it's volume.

Cons: Not really very many cons. The green LED blinks like crazy when it's in use, and that's a bit distracting. Also, it's a bit large, so any adjacent USB ports are unusable.

Other: Definitely recommend if you want another sound card for a low price.

  • Great USB audio device

    posted by lathans1 on 17:42:07 G11T 13/11/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Clear and good audio. Works on windows, mac and linux. Powerfull enough for Koss Porta Pro. No drivers needed.

Cons: Unable to use any adjacent usb ports if you're not using an extension cable. Mic input seems to be mono only. No additional value over SKU 45577, except black color instead of white.

Other: Buy this or SKU 45577 if you need extra audio output and input! :)

Pros: Some other products were cheaper but I liked the buttons on this one. They work without having to modify anything in Windows. The adapter was detected under Windows 7 32 bit with no problems, it works and provides great sound with no artifacts that I can hear.

Cons: None that I can see (or hear!)

Other: Great sound and no problems, just buy one.

  • Surprisingly good

posted by zixuan on 04:13:53 G8T 04/08/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Sound quality was much better than I expected. Plug and play on Windows 7. Build quality is quite good too. Not made of soft/cheap plastic.

Cons: Like what someone has memtnioned. The Left and Right channels are reversed. Can solved by switching your speaker/earphones around. Buttons are alittle hard to press but they all work. Have to hold the bottom and press if not the usb port might not take the pressure.

Other: Good buy besides a small flaw.(Left and Right Channel)

  • quite a good buy

    posted by Kenjiro96 on 16:16:58 G6T 30/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Cheap, easy to install, works decently

Cons: The worst con so far is the fact that Left and Right channels are reversed. Now I have to find a way to "unreverse" those channels, otherwise it is useless for me when playing Battlefield Bad Company 2. This game has a nasty crash which makes my computer freezes (sometimes) if I use the onboard sound card

Other: If you don't need this for playing games, go for it. Otherwise... you know you will have problems.
