When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. • Easy to use with Arduino Uno

posted by diypwn on 08:06:18 G5T 27/05/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Standard pin layout that works with existing library and examples. Pins are soldered on the backside so you can mount the display in a project box. I use mine with Arduino Uno + resistors to limit the current (see comment below). Ada Nokia 5110 software library and example sketch for Arduino works out of the box if you connect the pins according to the sketch. Contrast setting in the sketch may need some tweaking. Note: you also need the Ada GFX library to be able to compile.

    Cons: None so far.

Other: Nice display if you need more than 16x2 chars, or the ability to show graphics, for your microcontroller project. Some units may be a bit dodgy because of the rubber strip that connects the display to the board. If you get one, RMA straight away because they are difficult (impossible?) to fix.

Cons: Mine has two broken lines at the bottom of the display, thats why i give 3 start for quality.
