  • Nice plastic bell with aluminium cap

posted by Kizontije on 15:27:11 G2T 01/02/2014 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Nothing much to say about this lovely product - it is beautiful, nice fits on the bicycle and is quite loud with nice, bell sound (as a listener, you have no idea that it is in fact, mostly prlastic device), which is needed for a bell on this vehicle in the traffic. It also fits nicely on both girls and boys bicycles - in one word it is unisex model.

Cons: Too much plastic involved, so I am worried how long it will last on the bicycle in the normal driving practice...

Other: Worth to try, at least to have fun with it.

Pros: Very nice loud clear tone. feels like it will last a long time.

Cons: Larger than expected, but it could be a pro if you want to use it while wearing large gloves or something. Feels a bit too plastic.

Other: If your bell is broken, buy this one! If your bell dosn't make a nice loud sound all the time, buy this one!

  • Light weight and easy.

Pros: This light weight bell , has great clarity to the ring and is very easy to install.

Cons: However the bell is not exactly universal, I had to "Shim" it to the handlebars so it would not slide off. The plastic handle for the bell is a touch light and does feel on occasion as if it is bending.

Other: You cannot argue of the value for the price as this is a simple easy to use and install bell. Well worth the money.

  • good product

posted by ecitsuj on 21:45:09 G6T 27/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The bell is loud, and clear. It is llight weight. Setup is very simple. The price is cheaper than most of the other bells on dx.com.

Cons: The maximum diameter of the handle bar that this bell can be fitted on is not specified in the product description. For example, it doesn't fit a 31.8 mm handle bar. In addition, the bell mount is made of plastic. So do not tighten the screw too much.

Other: The price is cheap, the sound is loud and crisp. But the mount is made of plastic, don't know how long it will last.

  • Usefull and cheap

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It fulfills its function. Looks kind of cheap, but it should last.

Cons: I am not aware of any cons. If you need it, buy it.

Other: A bicycle bell is a percussive signaling instrument mounted on a bicycle for warning pedestrians and other cyclists. The bell is a required piece of equipment in some jurisdictions.[1][2][3][4] They usually mounted on the handlebars and thumb activated. The bicycle bell was invented by John Richard Dedicoat,[citation needed] and patents for bicycle bells appear as early as 1877.[5] The most common bells are actuated by a thumb-operated lever that is geared to rapidly rotate two loosely-slung metal discs inside the bell housing. Said discs repeatedly rattle and strike the bell to produce a sound not unlike that of an electric bell. Simpler types also exist, with a spring-mounted external clapper that produces a "ding-ding" sound when the clapper is pulled with a finger and released. - Wikipedia.

  • good bell but...

    posted by Bohman1885 on 19:10:21 G6T 15/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: great brrrngg brrnngg old fashion sound. works great, color matches my bike.

Cons: the clamp to attach the bell is to small and didn't fit my handle bar. I had to use wire ties to secure the bell. Bell tends to rattle when I ride over rough pavement. Fortunately I am right handed as it wouldn't work on the left side.

Other: great bang for the buck. Like I said you might have to alternate engineering to install the item.

  • Great Bell

posted by Paulovich on 09:17:58 G6T 01/06/2013 certificated customer

Pros: Loud bell, beautifil color, easy to operate with a finger, easy to instal. Classic sound. Have a nice shiny look. This bell sounds nice for everybody ears

Cons: Plastic parts subject to wear and tear. The push bit is the same crappy grey plastic. It will go brittle and whitish with prolonged exposure to UV, and a good push will break it off.

    Other: Great for this price

  • A bike bell, nice and easy.

posted by antoniojesusm on 06:05:33 G5T 29/05/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It's cheap, colourful and works well. The ring is loud and very familiar to hear.

Cons: The base of the bell is made in plastic and the attachment to the bike too. It's not very resistant to heat or exposed sun light.

Other: It's a good bell, at a quite reasonable price. It's perfect. If you want something to decorate your bike, and to be useful, this bell is perfect.

  • Inexpensive bell that does the job

posted by steveo on 11:26:24 G5T 23/05/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The bell works well, is loud, and very inexpensive.

Cons: The design is cheap and disposable. Basically, anything that can be made out of plastic is made out of plastic. So, the mounting hardware flexes and does not seem like it will last long and the lever that drives the bell's clapper also flexes more than it should. It has worked for occasional use, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone who needs to use their bell on a daily basis (I'm looking at you, The Netherlands).

Other: It works, but is not made to last. If you need a bell to comply with your countries traffic laws, it will suffice. However, if you need one that will last, look elsewhere.

  • Very low quality, stuck after couple of uses

posted by yuriku on 05:08:58 G4T 07/04/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Can't think of any! Maybe price, if you have some original use in mind.

Cons: It is not usable, I don't understand those who have left any positive feedback. The bell's lever is made of plastic, but not a hard one, - an easily bendable one. So it actually bends if you try to operate it by thumb. When moving the lever by two fingers it did rang. Until it stuck.

Other: Do not buy it, disregard other comments. I wouldn't even recommend it to my boss
