Pros: It's got lots of ports and seems to work fine. I have it pretty loaded with two webcams on usb extenders, a printer, usb speakers, a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard. The build quality seems pretty good. The usb cord is substantial.

Cons: Not sure what the powered aspect of it really does. It works just the same when it's not plugged in to the power supply. Not really a con, just an observation.

Other: I can safely recommend this item. It does what it's supposed to do.

Pros: Seven ports, good build quality, cables are long enough, it works as it should, enough power for all devices that i connected.

Cons: It's not really con, but it has flat power plug, so if you are in the Europe or some other part of the world that use round power plug you should buy Flat to Round Power Plug Converter. That shouldn't be a problem because you can find one of those for less then one dollar.

    Other: Buy it. I recommend.

Pros: The unit is compact but has more than enough ports to accommodate everything one needs to power, and more. I have run several portable hard disks as well as a self powered hard drive. Everything works well and the device is well finished off.

Cons: The only con is that it is only USB 2.0 and not USB 3.0, but that was known at the time of purchase.

Other: Great device at a great price. Anyone looking for an affordable expansion of their USB ports should consider this product.

Pros: Works perfect, delivers more power to my two USB DVB-T (TV) sticks, since I use this hub they never failed on me again. And because of the placement of the five ports vertically I can use ALL ports! I have hooked up now: Two harddisks, Two DVB-T TV-sticks, Three memory sticks. And this now connected to my set top box.

Cons: Can't think of any. Maybe that the power adapter is a U.S. type and not European.

Other: Next active USB-hub will be this one again!

  • Great hub, but a little expensive

posted by luisgbm on 07:18:06 G6T 13/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: External power, great for devices that can't provide enough power for devices such as USB HDs and wi-fi dongles, such as the Raspberry Pi. It can even power the Raspberry Pi just from the USB port! Also great if you need more ports, it has lots of them!

Cons: A bit expensive, but that's ok. You won't find anything that cheap in local stores, but for a DX product this is a little high.

Other: Great product if you need external power for your USB devices, and also more ports.

  • Good Deal Exactly as Expected

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Items came well packaged, compact size, externally powered, solid build (not going to be destroyed if knocked on the floor by cats), item exactly as descibed, easy to use, doesn't get overrally hot

Cons: No real problems found to date, appears to be working well Only thing I would change is having a little longer of a power adaptor cord

Other: Item is priced well for a multi port usb hub

  • Works after months of use

    posted by darkcrow101 on 14:20:00 G4T 18/04/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Have been using this powered USB hub for several months now. Have 5 devices plugged in at a time and all function fine. Speed is good using external hard drives but there is slow down (obviously) when reading/writing to multiple devices at the same time...It's still going to only one USB port.

Cons: None really. Have never had a case of having to "re-plug" in any USB devices because of not being detected by the PC. Not USB 3.0 which may be an issue in the future

    Other: It works! Quality built.

  • Perfect device if you need more USB ports

    posted by Kreator99 on 04:21:36 G4T 15/04/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The device is pretty small but it works as expected, all seven ports can be used at the same time using only one of your computers port. Perfect to connect 'narrow' band devices as keyboard and mouse. It can connect hard drives but you need to take into account that the device is USB 2.0 so the max throughoutput will be 480mbps shared between devices.

Cons: None, maybe the power adaptor could be somehow better but it is easy to replace for a better one.

Other: If I need another USB expansion device I would buy another

  • Only if you really need it

posted by alvarogmj on 16:35:19 G4T 13/04/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good for connecting several devices to an underpowered host, like a Raspberry Pi. One could even power the host device from this hub.

Cons: Not so powerful, including a 2A adapter. Limited usefulness, using so many devices at the same time is not something that one does so frequently.

Other: If you know you need it, buy it. Otherwise, just buy a normal hub. Be careful with the issues other have reported with regard to power feedback to the host.

Pros: Works as advertised. I use it with my raspberry pi.

Cons: Build quality not very great and it is more expensive than some comparable products, but I hope the quality makes up for it.

Other: Serves my purpose and this was my first purchase from dx.com. They did not let me down
