  • Cheap transmitter.

posted by vinra on 05:58:05 G11T 10/11/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very cheap. Clear markings on board, Ground, VCC and Data. Easy to set up and use with Virtual Wire. Place for antenna also marked on board.

Cons: Even with antenna it wont send very far. Description says >500 meters but i would say < 50 meters is more like it.

Other: If you need long range wireless transmission you have to spend more than this.

  • Good quality transmitter for the price

posted by AllgoodnameRgon on 09:17:02 G6T 28/06/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good quality for the price. It'll work at a nice range if you add an antenna (the place to solder the antenna is identified on the board). Let's be honest: Superregeneration is a really cool term for a transmitter. If someone asks how your 2 arduino board are transmitting wirelessly, you can answer "with superregeneration", and it'll sound really cool.

    Cons: None really.

Other: If you want to make 2 arduino talk to each other wirelessly, get this thing and 149252.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Affordable and very easy to connect. Power Ground and data and thats it Has additional solder points for attatching external antenna.

Cons: slight white solder resin residue on the board, making it look dirty. no functional defects / problems that i could find

Other: Easy to use, very flexible with power in Working voltage: 3V-12V Works great with sku 149254 More information easily found by searching for fs1000a

  • 433MHz antenna

posted by JBSchueler on 06:18:41 G3T 11/03/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I ordered a lot of these devices now. To get a good range I used antenna's from an other project. Easy to build your own. With an Arduino and the right libraries you can automate your home with ease. Works great with KiKa. Read this document to see how I make the antenna's. http://www.elektor.nl/StreamFile.lynkx?path=Uploads/Forum/Posts/How-to-make-a-Air-Cooled-433MHz-antenna.pdf I use these antennas also for the receivers...

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other: If you want to play with 433MHz transmitters and receiver I really advice to buy these transmitters. Together with the antennas which I described at the pros I can control every light in my home and build some additional modules like temperature loggers, light depending switches and PIR sensors. Very easy and fun to do.

  • Great 433MHz transmitter

posted by JBSchueler on 15:31:26 G2T 01/02/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Amazing chep and great performance. Works straight out of the box with the arduino virtualwire. In the upcoming day I will check if I can connect it directly to the uart port of the arduino to have more easy communication. I want to use these devices for my home automation and I am not sure if they can reach over 50 meters?!? For now I used a 17cm wire but for better performance it should be probable tuned.

Cons: Well... I don't have any cons till now and I can not think of any, Especially for this price!!!

Other: Really a great product and easy to use. If you want to experiment with 433MHz, buy this product!

  • 433MHz Wireless Transmitter Module Superregeneration for Arduino, PIC etc

    posted by JMann1 on 01:07:03 G1T 07/01/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: VERY CHEAP! very affordable. Has a 3v to 12v voltage supply level. Powering on a higher voltage should give more transmitting distance / power. I have not verified this yet but will be in the coming days. Worked strait out of the packet on the test bench. Very easy to hook up to an Arduino and use "VirtualWire.h" library to send DATA. Great Product. Also works fine with locally (JAYCAR) brought receiver "RXB1" totally compatible (As you would expect). The price is the best part. Get One!.

Cons: Had to take one quality star off because mine came with one of the coils squashed."DOH" (will upload a photo, when the server is not busy.) The module still worked with a squashed coil and when I bent it back into shape with some needle nose pliers it still worked also. THIS WAS THE ONLY CON. This damage could have been done when it was in transit. Maybe some protection (even some cardboard) could have been supplied by DX. You will most likely not get any damage if you buy this product. As a other buyer seems to have no damage.

Other: The bottom line is this is a great affordable product and takes a lot of cost out of your projects/prototypes. Good one DX. Recommended.

  • Good 433Mhz Transmitter with small dimensions and identified pins.

posted by mfonte on 09:59:04 G10T 17/10/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The dimensions are so small. It is a good point for what I'm working on. It has all pins identified (GND, VCC, DATA and ANTENA)

Cons: I didn't see anything bad in this device. Maybe if it is smaller than it is, It should be awesome to me.

Other: Good 433Mhz Transmitter with small dimensions and identified pins.
