  • Cheap in price, but also build quality

Pros: It's fairly inexpensive, thought nothing to write home about. Takes a CR123A battery, so is very compact.

Cons: Gets very very hot in under 5 minutes. Past 5 minutes there's no way I can hold it. I don't know if it's just mine, or all of them. After having it on for less than 5 minutes, I turned it off as it was very hot. When I turned it back on, it was flickering (not on/off flickering, but rather dimming and undimming continuously). Contacts are badly soldered and the twist on/off function is a pain as you have to almost unscrew it completely to turn it off.

Other: I would not recommend this item. There are others that dissipate heat better and have extra functions and clicky on/off for just a few extra dollars.

Pros: Great little flashlight once modified. Bright and small. It is an easy flashlight to carry with you.

Cons: Casting flash in the bottom of the body damaged one battery. I had to sand that flush to get good contact and protect the integrity of the battery. The pill was not completely screwed in to the head and the head did not screw down well (the threading fits loosely). I tightened the pill and cut two nonskid inserts as gaskets to fit in the top and bottom of the body at either end of the battery and now the head stays tight while off and the flashlight works like one much more expensive

Other: If you don't mind putting some work in this is a really good choice for a simple carry or key light.

  • great throw!

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The size is excellent, it's really small and a great light as backup f.e.
I use it only with primaries and it's really amazingly bright with one hella strong throw.
Quality is OK, actually I'm not complaining about the size because it's small enough to make me happy, hehe...

Cons: The switch is horrible unfortunately so having it as every day carry item in your pocket is not that great idea because it turns on by itself too easy, it's the twisting mechanism, I wish it was a clickie but maybe that would make the construction bigger. I don't know....
I also think it's a little bit overpriced, should be really 10 bucks or less.

Other: I think it's amazingly bright but should be cheaper and I don't like the switch.

  • Ideal keychain light

posted by aurispector on 18:21:07 G5T 15/05/2011 certificated customer

Pros: Surprisingly bright, pretty much as small as possible for a 123 light. Extremely simple. Can go everywhere with you on your keychain.

Cons: The hole where the lanyard attaches is weak and broke on both of mine. I drilled new ones that have held up.
Too expensive for what it is. Should be under $10. I'd buy a large supply if they were cheaper.

Other: I've had one on my keychain as an EDC for over 3 years. It replaced a crappy maglite AAA that was so dim as to be nearly useless.
An extraordinarily handy little light due to unsurpassed brightness in the smallest possible package.

  • Semi-perfect - just a few tweaks

posted by ldmaster on 20:20:31 G12T 07/12/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Perfect size, as others have stated, the LED head is solid. Using a Ultrafire 123A lithium rechargeable (SKU 03204)I get about 1/3 more light than with a primary 123a.

Cons: There are only a few drawbacks to this light that I would change. 1 - I used my end mill to shave down the aluminum button on the bottom of the flashlight to accomodate the longer size of the Ultrafire 123A rechargeable, I didn't totally eliminate it, but shaved enough on it to fix the problem - with an ultrafire in it, the threads BARELY engaged the O ring seal, and the head would unscrew too easily. Once done, it had an extra 1.5 turns and fully engaged the seal - still works fine with a 123A primary cell too. 2. There is no spring used to keep the battery from moving about in the flashlight when not in use, I can understand WHY (simplicity of design) but I hate things that rattle around, and a battery that takes too much rattling can fail. The threads are too thin, and engage with a lot of material scraping away - making the flashlight body just 1 tenth of a millimeter thicker and you could have MUCH more robust threads. Application of lithium grease fixed this problem to some extent.

Other: I don't regret buying it, but wish it weren't so flimsy in the thread department.

    -Very Bright
    -Good battery life

Cons: -Lanyard hole a little small
    -Should have a Q5!!
-Not cheap but not too expensive either
-Light is very white with a little hint of blue compared with my Fenix P3D Premium 100

Other: Just bought another one for a friend, it is so nice.

Pros: VERY small and very bright. Seems durable enough, and looks like it would be very water resistant. Only takes one battery and with rechargeable, would be cheap to run. Very cheap and reasonable for what it is.

Cons: I don't like it that you have to twist it on and off from the front. Would be better if it had a small clicky or twist from the back. Not a big deal and i knew what i was getting, but that would make it a 5 star.

Other: It is tiny and very bright. Would recommend it.

  • Bright little flashlight.

posted by Dragoen on 07:53:36 G6T 18/06/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very bright, can even see it at sunlight.
Really small, doubt it could be made much smaller with this kind of battery.
    Metalhousing and not plastic.
Appears to be a glass lens.
Great size to keep in the keychain.

Cons: Very bright, tends to get warm quickly, but cools quickly once turned off again.

Other: Really a great flashlight for its size for those moments its not needed to be turned on for a long period of time.

Pros: This is the brightest light for a small 1xCR123a. Very simple design, and surprisingly great output. As birght as a surefire, 6PL with 2xCR123a. Clean beam, with no artificats. Well made. Has OP reflector, and I think a glass lense.
    -----------------------

Cons: A little pricey. It doesn't appear to be HAIII. I can't tell.
    --------------------------

Other: Buy it for size and brightness.

  • exellent edc flashlight for the price

posted by Misterbean on 01:33:02 G4T 22/04/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very very bright, water resistant, very carryable size. bright with semi run down primaries. very very small. more than twice as bright(maybe three times as bright) as Romisen RC-A3 AA light(which i also enjoy). Decent build quality for the price. Can be used with rechargable 3.7v batteries.

Cons: build quality doesn't compare to more expensive flashlights in same class. Fairly thin walls and no spring. battery rattle with primaries(can be fixed with paper or tape around batteries.

Other: If you need a bright EDC light, Buy this one in any color you can find it in.
