  • Perfect for common users

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Small, useful, clear images, handy. Perfect in every situation: at home, in a forest...

Cons: Screw needs some fixing from time to time, but it is not a con, really. The first I bought had al tiny scratch in one lens, but it does not affect the usage.

Other: A must for everyone, from stamps collectors to anybody who wants to exam stuff closer (flowers, bank notes, signatures, wood...)

Pros: It is well priced. Easy to figure out how to use. It is made of metal. Compact size and magnifies great. Easy to focus on anything. Fun to play with looking at things like fibers or coins.

Cons: The only con is that it isn't free.:)

Other: Good little buy. Would recommend it if you want it for hobbies like model building and inspecting small things.

  • cheapo magnifier

Pros: Great little magnifier. The glass used is clear and has no bubbles, cracks or chips. The image is clearly magnified across the full face of the glass. I gave it 4 stars for build quality as the metal case that it swigs back into is so thin and the chrome plating is pitted. Also the edges are pretty sharp. This is just a slight issue though, the glass part (the important bit!) is fine

Cons: As above, the metal housing that the glass swings into when not in use is very thin and sharp at the edges and the chrome plating is pitted.

Other: Great price, great glass, comes with a protective case.

  • Nice magnifier

posted by RedEl on 03:17:29 G6T 13/06/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Useful and simple, no more and no less than a portable magnifying glass.
    - Magnifies rather well - to large scales.
    - Nice design, cool built-in protective case.
    - Comes in extra plastic case, that seems large enough to have in your bag and not lose.
    - Has a small hook for hanging.
    - Price rocks.

Cons: - The plastic case is bigger than the actual magnifier, and can hold it while open - but there is no reason to that.

Other: If you need one - that's probably the cheapest you'll find, with a nice build quality and full usability.

  • Small and practical

posted by BaZgA on 05:55:25 G5T 10/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Small and practical It magnifies rather good Can be folded so you wont stain the lens and it is protected from breaking

Cons: Hook for keyring is very small so it will be hard to put any kind of keyring trough

Other: This is a good, small and every day practical magnifier. It would be even better if the keyring hook was little bigger so you could out it on every keyring. There is no more thing to say about it. If you need small magnifier this is the way to go. Nicely packed too so you just need wraping paper and the gift is done.

Pros: 1. glass lens, not a plastic
    2. steel case. strong steel case!
    3. come with paper and plastic box, you can make a direct delivery gift for yours friend
    4. small. not heavy, I can carry in in pocket on keychain

Cons: chrome platted case. after few days in pocket with keys - scratches, fingerprint

Other: I have plastic lens loupe, it scratched after two weeks using. And I have big glass loupe - but it big ang heavy for everyday carrying. This one small, glass, strong.
20x17mm - I can't found pocket loupe like this in nearlest shops

  • Small but good quality

posted by xachopin on 09:03:55 G3T 25/03/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Small (easy to keep in your pocket)
    - Good definition
    - Good magnification
    - Looks great (I love polished steel)
    - Durable (metal)
    - Come in plastic box

Cons: - Small (easy to loose)
    - The lens is a little too small to my taste

Other: I would have like a pouch rater than the plastic box.
My girlfriend use it to inspect stones before buying (she do mineralogy). It's very convenient to carry around in your pocket (or you purse)
If you need a small magnifier to carry around, but it, for the price you won't regret it.

  • very nice

posted by flashin on 01:36:37 G10T 15/10/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: this is a very nice magnifier. it is built very solidly. i don't know if it is an actual 20x magnifier, but it is strong. the lense on both of mine are made of one solid piece of glass, and not multiple lenses. this makes it very durable. it can be taken apart to clean or repair. the lense is held in place with a threaded ring similar to what you might find in a watch, or flashlight. the part that pivots is aluminum. the body is made of... well i think it is chrome plated brass. it has some heft for it's size. there is a spot for a lanyard. it needs it too because it's very small and could be lost if it's not tied to something. one of the best things about this loupe is it's unbelievable price, under $3/free shipping. it comes in a plastic display box with a foam insert so it should arrive safely. the other nice thing about it is the clearness of the lense. minute details show up very clear. that's what it's supposed to do.

Cons: very small and easy to lose. sometimes it is difficult to get enough light in the area to be able to see. you have to hold it close to your eye and that tends to block light. that's to be expected with any handheld loupe this small. other than some grinder marks that were chromed over, that do not effect it's function, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Other: unless i lose it, i should not have to replace this particular loupe. i bought two so i'd have a spare. both are of equal quality. it's a good buy.

  • A Bit Too Powerful

posted by ColdSteel on 20:41:20 G6T 08/06/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good quality, glass lens, small, easy to carry.

Cons: 30x instead of 20x, a bit too powerful for general use.

Other: Small, inexpensive glass magnifier that would be far more practical at 20x. Box says 20x, but the glass itself is labeled 30x. The field of view could be just a bit larger, but it's a handy magnifier.
