Pros: Glad to have the second USB port for when multiple people need to draw power or charge devices in the car. Charges at the correct current and voltage - no dropouts or 6v overcharging.

Cons: None related to the function. Had to put some colourful tape on it since black devices disappear into the darkness with great ease.

Other: Get a second one for additional 12v outlets.

  • It's OK when both my phones aren't totally flat...

posted by roberttristram on 17:58:57 G9T 23/09/2012 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Charges both of my devices - an iPhone and Motorola Defy (with caveats) Easy to use

Cons: Won't charge my iPhone if the Motorola Defy is flat, or only partially charged and is also plugged into it. The iPhone displays an error that the charger is not recognised (or something like that). Basically, I guess there isn't enough current to charge two devices if both are low on power

Other: Buy it, but be prepared to juggle devices if you want to charge an iPhone.

Pros: Useful and simple. Charges 2 gadgets at the same time. Current is 800mA. Perfect device!

Cons: 1.It is quite big, could be a little smaller. It is not very cosy for my car because my knee always touches the device, probably will be better in other cars ))) 2. The LED is quite bright, and it is red colour. Theese two are not really cons. Better to say theese are my wishes )))

Other: it is cheaper than any other charger with same options

  • A Good Charger at a Good Price

posted by ChrisMaster on 02:36:36 G9T 29/09/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: I'll give this product the full 5 stars, upon using this product, it exceeded my expectations of it.
    • The charger I got seems to have great build quality, it doesn't feel cheap and the plastic feels strong and doesn't creak when held.
    • Dual USB charging capability is useful for a range of USB chargeable devices
    • Works perfectly with my iPod Touch 3rd gen 32GB
    • Fits firmly into the charger slot, you won't have to worry about it falling out

Cons: Can't really find any... it does the job of charging like it should.

Other: If your after a cheap charger and need to charge your stuff on the go, then this should do the job fine.

Pros: - Charges at max 1000mA. Verified with the fuse.
    - Fuse is changable, so if it blows, you don't get your adapter wasted.
    - Charges very fast.
    - Doesn't exceed USB specifications.
    - Very portable.
    - Two USB ports for sharing.
    - Black colour to look professional and classy.
    - Comes in a great packaging - at least it looks pretty.

Cons: Cannot find any cons except that some devices cannot be charged due to the fact that it's not following some specifications, but it doesn't really bother me.

Other: Buy it if you need a great car USB adapter with two ports.

  • Good adapter, doesn't follow USB spec

posted by petur on 05:10:55 G7T 07/07/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - Good price
    - Good build quality
    - Easy to use
    - Dual ports!
    - Easy to open for tweaking (see below)
    - LED shows it is powered
    - Uses an efficient voltage convertor (chopper), so doesn't get very warm

Cons: - Does not follow USB spec for adapters!!! Can be fixed however (see below)
    - Could be made a bit smaller easily

Other: Get it, modify it and enjoy it.
If you're not into modifying, get something else - unless your device is from Apple
Apple should be punished HARD for not following the USB specification!!!

  • good product with low quality

posted by kaivan on 04:35:10 G5T 03/05/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: A very good product in terms of usage and practical. Decent voltage out put. works well even in low voltage of 11.5v good for multiple connections. The fuse access is very easy to access and replace. mine did blew once.

Cons: Mine came with a rusted usb pin as in my snaps. Not a issue as i used a little WD40 and dried it well. keep using it and the problem was sold.

Other: a good buy for once.

Pros: Pros: * Decent size * Wide input range * Switchmode regulator, not linear * Reasonably low noise on output * Fused (2A) in case something goes wrong * Works down to 6-7 volts, has about 0.9 volts dropout.

Cons: Cons: * Bit out of specs; 5.1 v @ no load, 5.7(!)v @ 350mA load, 5.3v @ 600 mA load * Somewhat low efficiency, 72% @ 350mA, 79% @ 600 mA. I don't recommend running it at full load (800 mA; this will likely get very unhappy at 2x800mA) for prolonged periods. * Somewhat shoddy build quality

Other: Bottomline: I'd buy another if I needed it, but might end up swapping out the parts in it for something more robust. Don't keep it on a high load for hours and hours, and you'll be fine.
