  • Very good product

Pros: It is very cheap compared with any other wireless solutions. It is made of good materials. Quality is good. It works very well. A lot of information about this on internet: http://maniacbug.wordpress.com/2011/11/02/getting-started-rf24/ You can network them in very large numbers: http://maniacbug.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/rf24network/ It is perfect for any Arduino project. There are hacks that make this board talk to bluetooth: http://hackaday.com/2013/09/21/sending-data-over-bluetooth-low-energy-with-a-cheap-nrf24l01-module/

Cons: The pinout is not marked but it is easy to find . Range could have been better.

    Other: Great product. Recommended.

  • Good for simple projects

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: It is made of good materials. Quality is good. Works out of the box. Range is acceptable, but it could have bigger antenna. Also lots of documentation and examples are provided. And it is very cheap! Very fast delivery. It is good packed so it will not bread or damage during transport.

Cons: The only disadvantage I find in this project is mainly chinese documentation of board. Most of documents are in chinese language. Pins could be described on the board. Pins are in 2 rows so it will not fit normal bread board. You have to create your own board to connect it.

Other: I reccomend for simple projects for atmega and arduino.

  • Transceiver with better on-board antenna

    posted by Gyro76 on 14:52:34 G12T 03/12/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Price, easy to connect and interface, onboard antenna (with better communication range comparing to smaller modules), good manufacturing quality (PCB, assembly)

Cons: Connector is not SMT (surface mount technology) compatible, pinout description is missing, size of module, height of module (crystal position)

Other: Works fine with PIC16F819. Output pins are not tolerant to short circuit. Input pins are 5V tolerant.

  • Review 2.4GHz NRF24L01+ Wireless Communication Module for Arduino (2 PCS)

posted by FriskoxD on 04:35:36 G5T 24/05/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: 1) Item as described. 2) Pin headers are already soldered on. 3) Shipped with header pins stuck in a piece of foam to prevent damage. 4) Works perfectly. 5) A lot of information about these units is available. 6) Very good price.

Cons: 1) Because the headers are placed in 2 rows it won't fit in a regular breadboard.

Other: These units work perfectly and come at a very good price.

  • Superb break boards

posted by dandymon on 06:30:54 G3T 31/03/2013 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: The price of these is superb for 2 of them and they are clearly not second rate - they have the same IC and external components.

Cons: The header is a pain for connecting it to a bread board because of it's dual-in-line connector not spacing like a DIP. No onboard pin definitions - but here they are GND | 3.3V CE | CSN SCK | MOSI MISO | IRQ

Other: They come in two so if you have two arduinos, then you can test your code works easily with the ping server and ping client examples included in the MIRF library. It took some toying - but they work lovely!
