Pros: A cheap product for its high quality, good lighting even in extreme conditions, I tested this on a spare flashlight adapted to a bicycle and works perfectly even with rough terrain.

Cons: the only drawback that I find this kind of replacement (such as most of these are not LED) is consumed batteries too fast

Other: thank you all for reading my comment

Pros: This drop in module is Very easy to install and can handle relatively high voltages. It fits like a glove in both the polymer and aluminum Surefire 9p. I upgraded my flashlight to Trustfire CR-123 rechargables and this module works great with the higher voltages.

Cons: Yes it's a battery pig but that is the nature of the beast in ANY incandesent light.

Other: For this price with free shipping? Buy it!

  • review for 14V Flashlight Bulb Replacement

posted by Kevinlimse on 23:33:39 G7T 05/07/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: clear nicely shaped bulb as compared to surefire bulbs. It is able to accomodate 14V which means I can use 3x4.2V=12.6V of LiPo CR123A batteries rather then keep getting use-n-throws. Good output.

Cons: Ofcourse it eats battery life, High output = high intake, people must understand there is no free energy.

Other: If you want a long lasting white light get LED, if not this is cheap and good, affordable to stock for spare.

  • not worth it :(

Pros: very bright and very cheap

Cons: eats batteries like crazy. and you'll end up broke. it takes 3-4 pieces of cr123a batteries.

Other: better of getting an LED drop in which are much brighter and eat less batteries. i tested my and i prefer the 3v xenon bulb over this if you want the cheaper price, but if you have the dough, go for an led drop in

  • Extremely Bright! It's only 4 bucks!

posted by dnpts on 23:29:23 G7T 21/07/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Bright - Great warm color of the light - Best price anywhere - Very nice textured reflector, hence good beam pattern - Exceptional build-quality

Cons: - the inherant problems of incandesent problems like short runtime and heat, but you can't blame this particular bulb.

Other: I made a home-project flashlight with this head assembly with 4, 3 volt 123 cells. Basically just taped the whole thing together. It's very bright... I compared it to my 3xAA LED Maglite, 2xAA Maglite with the $30 TLE-5EX LED bulb upgrade and the $45 Dexlight X-1 running on 1.5v alkaline cell (14500 is on its way) - the results made me angry. This home-made flashlight worth less than $4 was much, much, much brighter than all of them!! I do understand the drawback is significantly shorter runtime, but I love how bright and cheap this bulb is.

  • Fits a 12V system as said?

posted by pattang on 18:20:08 G6T 30/06/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: A well built replacement bulb from G&P.Color temperature is typical as those high quality original bulbs. Strength of the two springs well adjusted for positive contact even under vibration.

Cons: Not really suitable for a 12V system if you demand high light output. At 12V, amperage is only ~1.55 which indicates a power rating of ~18.6W and light output is ~5500-6000 Lux tested. When fed with 14V, amperage is ~1.33, so still ~18.6W, which clearly indicates that this is not a high pressure xenon bulb, but rather a moderate output replacement bulb.

Other: At this price point, no complaint. You can't get anything with better value and Dealextreme has the lowest price tag!
