Pros: Nice finished. Good quality wiring, connectors and voltage switch. Does not become as hot as the one it replaces.

Cons: The AC cord is too thick. It´s that 3 pin cord used for monitors and desktops. Could be replaced with the usual AC cord for notebooks, because the wattage is only 100W.

Other: Checked the price of a original Lenovo power adapter and it costs around US$90 in Brazil :-(. Do the math :-)

Pros: Plenty of voltage options. Good selection of DC plug adapters. Runs cool.

Cons: Cheap AC power cord that doesn't fit well. DC plugs and jack are polarized so you can NOT reverse the plugs. It's tip positive operation only.

Other: Works good, build is fine, replace the supplied AC cord, it's tip positive only.

Pros: I bought this one, because the one included to my laptop died (RIP).
Surprisingly this one turned out to be smaller, not as heavy as the old one and it does not overheat as much as the old one.

Cons: The cable is short, 90 cm to be precise. It is barely enough from the ground to up to my bed, it would be to short to reach the top of the table.
Since I have the bad habit of using my laptop only on the bed, it does not matter to me, but for other people it may be a problem.

Other: It works surprisingly fine. I was a bit scared, what cheap imported adapter would perform like, but it in fact works better than the old one. (I started to wonder, how shitty was the old one for a brand product?? A two and a half year old Fujitsu, to be precise)

Pros: Very cheap compared to what you have to pay in a local store. It comes with various sizes of connectors; one got to fit your laptop. Different voltage options; you can travel with it but not having to bring a transformer. Very well packaged. Very easy to use.

Cons: Quite a bit bigger than my original adapter and much heavier. The cord is too short. I have to get an extension cord to use in multiple locations. The particular size connector for my laptop doesn't fit perfectly; it's too big and tends to come loose easily. Durability is very poor. The plugin section (plastic coating) began to break from both ends after a month. I put electric tape over the cord but it began to break a little distance from the previous break. After 5 months I have taped the cord four times, around various locations, to keep the cord from falling apart.

Other: It's cheap and it works most of the time. $18 for 5 months that worked out to $3.50 a month. Still cheaper compared to my original cord that cost $90 and last for 18 months. If you're tight and in need of a power cord, get this one, but use lots of electric tape to keep the cord together. Hope you will have better luck than me!

Pros: It works. it does power my HP DV2000 laptop. It will probably work with many laptops, and in this way, it can be really useful for testing etc...

Cons: 1) It does not come with a EU plug (but most of us have one laying around)
    2) it emits *strong* electromagnetic (EM) noise, which made it impossible to use it with a VGA extension cord, and created background noise on my stereo.

Other: Sure, my stereo is probably badly isolated (but it was 1m away!) and using a VGA extension cord is not the best idea, but if you have any equipment sensitive to EM noise, don't buy it.
The build quality is probably very bad.
But for testing purposes I guess it's enough.

  • Good if you do a lot of work on laptops

Pros: Lots of connectivity and voltage options, 9/10 times you will have what you need with this. Very good to test "dead" laptops if you are doubting the original power bricks' abilities.

Cons: Too bulky to use everyday. Still, the same size as some laptop's bricks... Voltage switch is a little off the mark. Feels solid, just kind of looks in between the voltages when in fact you have another voltage selected.

Other: Good for people who NEED to carry it but if you want something small and light, look elsewhere.

  • Good charger as a replacement

posted by whocarez on 13:24:03 G4T 25/04/2010 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Bought this device as a replacement charger for an older Fujiutsu laptop where the cable became loose. Very easy to use, simple to select the required voltage. Quite light.

Cons: Gets a bit hot and I a bit sceptical to leave it on for longer periods of time. However, it is quite identical to many chargers shipping with cheaper laptops so I am probably just a bit cautious. No euro-cable, but this is easy to replace. Many got tons of these laying around.

    Other: Quite a good unit.

Pros: It has worked for almost a year of hard wear and tear.

Cons: Cheap plastic feel but as I said it is working.

Other: If you need a charger for $17.00 this thing is great and I imagine if you treat it right it can last longer than the laptop it is charging.

Pros: It works. Used it for a craft-robo CC200-20 at 24V and it is ok. Even the plug was adequate to my region (France). Voltage selector is ok too.

Cons: Plastic feels a bit cheap, but it's ok. I couldn't find a matching connector along those provided for my Dell Latitude E6400.

Other: It works, but if it's for a Dell Laptop, you'll need to find the plug elsewhere. But those provided should cover most usages.

Pros: Good published performance, and should be very attractive, price versus performance

Cons: I have bought two units, both have "blown out" after a short use, in the moment of plugging into the mains, the mains fuse was blown out at the same time.

Other: Do not buy it !!!! As a matter of fact I still need these units but I am not going to risk any more money on it.
