wireless adapter antenna Customers Reviews

  • Works as stated

Easy to connect and Windows XP and Windows 7 detects it immediately.
I purchased it and shipped to Canada. It does pick up a little more than the built in wireless setup in a Toshiba laptop. Has standard detachable antenna, will experiment with a better one when I have researched a few more well reviewed antennas.
You get a USB wireless receiver setup that I have now tested and made work with XP and Win 7. Reasonable price. Fast shipping. I was always happy with DealExtreme and I have found they ship faster than ever now.
  • Works on Linux

Small, good gain, pratical, excellent external antenna (attachable). Worked fine on Linux with Kernel 3.2 and specific firmware installed. you can use it with you PC or laptop.
Worked fine on Debian Wheezy (7.0). Chipset Ralink 2800 USB. You need install the firmware using # apt-get install firmware-ralink. After this, connect and use. On Linux (log /var/log/syslog): idVendor=148f, idProduct=5370, Product: 802.11 n WLAN, Manufacturer: Ralink, rt2800usb, rate control algorithm 'minstrel_ht'.
A very good product. I recommed it for all.
  • Great GSM module

    posted by lautarox

The module comes from the elecfreaks GSM module. They have a tutorial on how to set it up and some examples on how to use it using the arduino platform.Comes with the required power supply to make it work.Has SMS, GPRS and audio (phone calls).
Remember using the alternate power supply it comes with, if not it won't stablish the network connection. Also try using an hyperterminal because if you try to communicate with it using the arduino terminal you wont be able to send hex values that are needed to let the GSM module know it has finished sending data.
The module is easy to use due the tutorials and works perfectly. It could be a bit cheaper.
  • Great little card

It works as expectedOmni antenna performed better than directional 10 dBi sku.37185 using this very card.
In able to inject packets in Ubuntu 11.10, I needed to create a patch in compat wireless drivers. Follow these instructions if you need: http://theunl33t.blogspot.com.ar/2012/01/ubuntu-1110-aireplay-ng-and-mon0-is-on.html
For increasing signal in restaurants, airports, hotels, etc. this is a great antenna. And if you want to play with your card in Ubuntu, at least in 11.10 it's working great.
  • Good product, but very sensible.

better reception than internal laptop WiFi and another USB receivers I have. It cames with drivers for Windows, Linux & Mac, and with a Linux live CD.
Useful if you know the origen of the WiFi signal. If not is a bit difficult to make the connection if the signal is not so strong.
I'm happy with this product. It makes what it said.
