  • Nice color, low quality

Warm colorWide beam if you need it.Single mode operation for quick use.Does not get hot
After wrapping the alu foil, the light does not get hot at all, so this a pro! I ordered a new reflector, a smooth one, it throws a lot further. Only a small hole in the middle left.I like the "upgrade" of this lense.sku.5955 just unscrew lense and switch them.
Good warm light if you want to handle/see some detailed or small objects in the dark! But it needs some modding to make it as pleasant as it is now!
  • Would get one again

Bright as the sun, and of a really nice warm white color, no noticeable strange hues.
This is my first emitter for a DIY project. More specifically, I had an Energizer lantern around that thought it would be better off with a LED lamp. Did not use any driver or additional electronic parts, the lantern is powered by 3x1.5V batteries, could be too much for the emitter if the batteries are new, time will tell.
I would definitely get a new one if some new batteries toast this baby, since 4.5V is quite more than the rated 3.4V.

Warm white MC-E led (looks like a halogen flashlight).
Very bright (nothing compared to my 200 lumen homemade warm white XR-E).
    Looks very solid.
    Has mode memory.
Uses standard 18650 batteries. Have lots of them from old laptop batteries.
It is a bit bigger and heavyer than I expected.
Draws 1800ma on high, 750ma medium and 70ma on low from not fully charged unprotected li-iom battery (3.95V).
After aluminum foil mod gets warm on medium after 5 minutes of use, and hot after 2 minutes on high. Stays cold on low mode.
This is my first not homemade powerful flashlight. Could be a bit better build quality for that price, but still good.
P.S. Sorry for my english :))
  • Good handheld floodlight

    - Excellent contrast between objects and backgrounds due to its warm tint.- Massive spot and spill.- Works great with two CR123A's.- Quite sturdy.
The switch is a reverse clicky. There is no momentary activation, and the switch is also used for mode cycling. Good for general purpose, not so for critical tasks. Also, I wouldn't trust the lanyard that they shipped with the light. At all.
Not a bad light considering its price. It's a good general purpose light. Warm tint and wide beam allows it to be a good close-to-medium distance searchlight. It's not really suited for throwing, but its overall output is more than enough to light objects up at distances of up to ~120 meters, and its warm tint allows you to pick out different objects from the background easier than lights with cool white tints.
  • Built like a tank very bright

Light is built solid and very bright for a AA size. On a 14500 the light pulls 1.25 amps on high and .35 amps on low. Body is very well made. Only 3 modes which great to me.
I would buy it again. I have not used on a AA battery so I can not tell about the performance on a AA
For the price this light is very nice. You will not be disappointed if you get this light.
