  • Cheap useful DC-DC for DIY

    posted by NiTr0

Cheap, small, enough powerful DC-DC convertor that is suitable for DIY projects. You can achieve up to 2A continuous current with additional heatsink.
I use it for EeePC 1001P 24V charger (EeePC consumes 18V ~2A; DC-DC consumes 1.5A 25V); I placed it on heatsink from Asus NForce3 (by 2 screws); now I have +72C on heatsink and higher than 80C on coil at the table after 10 minutes. Not so bad, but I expected higher efficiency.
Cheap and useful device, without big cons at it's price. It's cheaper than single IC when you buy 10+ pcs.

    - It has good stabilization of the output voltage. When i have supplied it with 12V the output stayed constantly at 4.99 - 5.03 volts regardless of the output current which was between 0.5A to a maximum of 2 Amps
    - A small switch would be a good addition to it when using in the car, or at least connecting it to a switched plus is a good idea to prevent it from running idle and flattening the battery.
Very good DC power supply, with stable voltage. The price could be better though.

very stable and the current that provides is more than enough to power my raspberry pi. Absolutely does not heat up so I think it definitely has a good performance. the current and the voltage seem stable.I recommend it to all those who have to power a device to 5V, probably even in your car is a good substitute dell'accendi cigars as it has a higher return
with 12 V input voltage does not heat at all
is just what I wanted to not use a 7805 which dissipates a lot of heat. With a 7805 I put a heatsink but it was so hot you could not touch
  • Works for me

Cheaper than building it myself here... Since where I live the components are not common.
    Could be cheaper, maybe?
It is compact and exactly what I needed to have my internet router working on batteries in case of power shutdown! It even has a LED that I find useful to know if it is actually working and I didn't know it had it.Got it encased and mounted in 10 minutes. The other one I made myself took me more than a week since I had to build my own cooper coils, and a generic circuit board because nobody sells them here.
  • High-performance converter

Converter ideal for high performance applications on computers supply regulated voltage.Very versatile due to its low weight and very small size.Very robust components which ensures good durability expanding operation.Very easy to use simply required to regulate the voltage trimpot possessing for this purpose.
It would be nice to tell with a fixed output voltage values ??3.3V, and 5V.Improve the subject of mounting with holes in the ends of the plates.Cold Welding poor in quality. Many delay in shipping.
The bottom line this board can be used widely for feeding electronic equipment because it has a high yield this enables lower energy loss than with a linear voltage regulator, high current poseee is very small and also easy to install.
