  • Good tester

Sensitivity is just right. Doesn't beep until you put it right against a hot wire (120v). My last tester was so sensitive it beeped at static from a plastic bag! I've had one for over a month now.
Voltage tester is always on. This is not my first always on tester, I would expect at least a couple of months with good alkaline batteries. Push button to turn on white led. White led is bright enough to light a panel or junction box. Has beeping and red led for a/c voltage indication.
    Good tester!

I have used this tester for just over a year now and it has been 100% reliable. I don't want another hit of 240VAC....I'm too old now! Anyhow, out of curiosity I bought a Fluke copy for $3~$4USD. It looked much the same, seemed to be better spec'd but it does not detect anywhere near as reliably. Kind of hit and miss! I tossed it in the garbage....I guess you get what you pay for! If you are playing with 240VAC [or possibly even 110VAC] then get this. All the same, I still double check by crossing the old screwdrivers! DX also sell a Fluke clone....I wouldn't bother.
For low voltage stuff, I often go cheap but after a few bad experiences with 240VAC, I now always go for the big name brands for my household electrical wiring even if it costs 5 times the price.
A reliable, must have, safety device if you are doing any household wiring.

Cheap. Long battery life (over 6 months and counting with occasional use) Helps with troubleshooting. Light weight. Easy to use. Safe.
This is not a high quality testing device. It is a basic tool for helping in some situations.
It's good if you work on construction sites and not too sure where a live outlet is. Or if you work with electronics and need to verify that the outlet you are using is working.

It has a good size. The flashlight is very good and useful in poorly lit panels. It is very easy to use. It is safe because there is no contact with live parts. Uses AAA batteries.
What's better this machine is safety for working with electricity because it reduces the risk of electric shock.
It was one of the best purchases I've ever made. The price is great and the product works perfectly.
