    Iwe used this on a tripp with an old MacBook Air SSD disk and a http://www.dx.com/p/apple-macbook-air-ssd-convert-to-sata-22p-converter-adapter-w-pack-of-install-screw-black-139438Could be the other part that takes time to boot up, but it usualy takes about 10-30 seconds to mount the disk the first time. Iwe used a 13" rMBP and Finalcut to edit material from my GOPRO Hero 3, and have worked great to work from an SSD. The first time i started it i had to plugg the second usb (2.0?) to power before it would boot. Culd be that i was eeger and didnt wait the time it takes to mount. Mounts faster with external power, once its mounted it works great with good speed.
    If you want something that is easy so use, and want to be able to mount different disks, and fast aswell, this is a good option.

    this product cost 20$ at local shop, which is high for such a small product. ive been using it for almost 3 months now its been great no problems. this is used for a case that has usb on the front that go to female usb on the back. the purpose of this is to have slots in the back, and when usung the front ports, plugging the extention from the case to the front.
    none, get it if you need it
    you gonna buy a New case its MOST LIKELY Going to need one of these. for 5 bucks get it.

    Very good USB3 expander panel. The connector on the other side is compatible with the USB3 connector on the motherboard. Very well build. The USB3 function works fine.
    This product is very useful if of having USB3 ports on older PC cases, which have only USB2 on the front. USB3 offers much better performance when you use external hard drives.
    The product works just as expected. The price is good for an USB3 expantion plate.

    Well made, sturdy cable with quality connectors at both ends. The fit to a microUSB3.0 socket is perfect and secure. Data transfer is capable of full USB3.0 speed provided your device can handle it.
    I would recommend this for anybody with a USB3.0 capable phone, as it allows for much faster data transfer and also higher charging current than a standard USB2 cable would.
    Solid construction, good connectors, and expected data rates. Good cable!

    The front panel is completely metal. The mount frame is also made of metal. The cable is thick and looks durable. The 20-pin connector is well made and fits nicely on my Asus motherboard. The 45cm long cable is more than sufficient for my Centurion 2 case. Package came with mounting screws.
    Decent quality product at a fair price.
    Recommended for those with older case that does come with front USB 3.0 ports
